This secluded "Frank Lloyd Wright" inspired home can become your own private mountain retreat. Designed like a luxurious treehouse, the multi layers of porches and decks makes one feel as if they are sleeping in the clouds. You will never want to leave.

Every room has stunning views of endless mountains or secluded wooded trails. Enjoy breakfast on the screened-in porch or coffee on the private balcony deck off the master bedroom. Tuck your children or guests away into the two additional upper or lower floor guest bedrooms. Create you very own private spa holiday while exercising in the Yoga room complete with Sauna and Soaking tub. Relax and watch a movie in the media room by the wood stove. Cook a farm to table meal in the fully stocked gourmet kitchen or hike in the privately owned 15 acres surrounding the house. Watch the sunset while you sit in your great room by a roaring fire with a glass of wine. This property is a sanctuary all year round. You will feel completely at peace in your own private spa retreat.

This is the perfect spot for a holiday with your loved ones, a group retreat or romantic seasonal getaway. The property is 2 hours from NYC and offers a NEST central air system, a grand over-sized fireplace, media/ gaming room with PS4 Playstation, Xbox One and a 75 inch flat OLED HDTV screen, super high speed wifi EERO internet wifi access through entire house, wifi printer-scanner, Apple TV, cable TV, wood burning stove, yoga/exercise room with adjacent "zen outdoor deck", cedar-lined walk-in 4-person hot sauna, soaking spa tub and 4-burner Weber gas BBQ grill.

Close to fishing, swimming, ziplining, hiking, skiing (at Belleayre or Windham), wineries and only 10 minutes to the villages of Phoenicia and Woodstock, 30 minutes to New Paltz and under an hour to West Point and Storm King ... it will be easy to enjoy all the Catskills and Ulster County has to offer.

Winter wonderland

The house was wonderful...welcoming and homey. My family and I appreciated that there were board games. The beds were very comfortable and the setting unbeatable! We would love to see it in the warm weather!

A great stay but....

I really wanted to leave this place a 5 star review but when I found out there were cameras throughout the house even when Vrbo's policy is to not have any camera's in the house, me and my girlfriend felt completely violated. My girlfriend said she thought there was a camera in the bedroom which upon further research online and at electronics stores here we found that to be a good possibility. We stayed for the weekend but on the second day basically halfway through our trip we received a notice from the owner stating that there were camera's located throughout the house. Had we have known that there is no way in a million years we would have rented!!! If these were just camera's outside that would be no problem but these were throughout the house and even in the bedroom from what we later found out. Who does something like that??? Why would he wait until our second day to say "oh by the way there are camera's throughout the house"!!! I am currently consulting with my attorney to find out the law in regards to privacy violations. Honestly I really felt depressed after finding out about there being a camera in the bedroom!! I did speak to consultants for Vrbo and they specifically stated that their policy is to not have camera's ANYWHERE within the property. I think one star is way too generous but it would not allow me to go any lower

Our Mexican Winter Break in Woodstock

We usually take a two week break in Mexico each winter and due to Covid that was a non event this year. Ed's house is beautiful and feels so luxurious and cozy that we did not miss our usual warm weather respite. We made great use of the sauna and exercise room and created our own spa experience.The snow storm we had created a wonderland and was a delight to be out in. Ed is incredibly responsive and there was nothing more we could have asked for. A truly wonderful place to be and stay.

Fantastic mountain retreat

We were 2 couples spending a winter weekend at this amazing home nestled in the woods. The house is pristine and impeccably maintained, with gorgeous furnishings and decor. We loved cooking in the very well-stocked kitchen and the great room is just beautiful - surrounded by windows and the cozy wood-burning fireplace as the focal point. Every room has beautiful, bright mountain views. There is something for everyone here - whether you want to relax and enjoy the sauna/spa/yoga room (awesome!) or take advantage of the karaoke and/or video game systems (we did not, but a fun option!). The house is wonderfully appointed with great amenities - luxurious towels and linens, quality toiletries, and high attention to details. Location is so convenient to Woodstock and totally 100% private without another house in sight. We give our highest recommendation for this wonderful home and look forward to renting again!

Beautiful mountain escape

Classic architecture, ample space, great host and incredible views. We went up for a ski weekend and wound up spending the last day at the house. The views are incredible, architecture is inspiring and the yoga room and sauna are amazing. Host was very accommodating and provided lots of helpful information. Nobody around for miles, great family time.

A Thankful Thanksgiving!

This is a spectacular property. Beautiful space indoors and out! The house has a wonderful fireplace in the main room which has soaring ceilings and a fabulous view of the woods outside. The kitchen is a dream to cook in everything you might need is there! Being able to exercise in the exercise room and have equipment right there was so easy. The media room has a wood buring stove which we enjoyed while being cozy and watching movies. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept great! This house has a very special feel to it and the owner was so helpful and responsive to any question or need that we had. It is a little bit of Paradise. We are already heading back!

We had a great time at Ed’s property! It’s a beautiful home and the views were amazing! Ed’s communication and his property guide that he shared were top notch. Would recommend and I would stay again.

Serene + Clean Getaway

Came up to celebrate my birthday with a few friends. Arrived to a very clean home with lots of space and amenities. The kitchen is very well stocked with cooking appliances, the beds are comfortable and the porch and living room were perfect places to gather. House packet had all necessary information (including where to get firewood etc.) Ed was very responsive when we had questions arise. The property is very beautiful and private, is a great retreat.

This was a great house. We rent homes on VRBO often and this was by far the cleanest house we have ever stayed in. Beautifully decorated! Well appointed! Just a great house.

Beautiful.

What a wonderful stay. The home was as lovely as the photos suggest, the owner was communicative and helpful, the kitchen is very well stocked with equipment, and the gorgeous roads up and down the mountain make for an excellent walking loop. The view from the back of the house is stunning. This is a place to unwind, relax, and reconnect with nature - whether on the property or at the many terrific hiking areas, lakes, etc. within an hour’s drive.

Beautiful property!

We had a great time at this beautiful property. Everything we needed was in the house and a supermarket was not far away. We had 4 people online working during the day and the WiFi was excellent. The owner was always responsive to our questions.

New year on the mountain

Beautiful home! The house has everything you need. The owner is easy to get ahold of. He gave us tips on directions and made the whole process feel easy and safe. Note*** if you do visit in the winter time I do recommend a AWD/4WD as there are steep hills with the snow. Overall great experience and we will return!!
