Hi Alan - We were very sorry to hear about your poor experience and have also spoken with VRBO directly and since remedied the situation to VRBO's satisfaction. But, let me first address some of your claims... Firstly, there are no security cameras located in any bedroom on our property. Period. Zero. And that's a fact. Secondly, there were only five security cameras on the property and, of the five, three were positioned near windows facing the outside to show views of the front door porch, the drive way and the exterior yard. Third - like every one of the 80+ renters, who've left 5 star reviews, that we've hosted since Fall 2018 - you received an electronic copy our house guide on the day of your arrival prior to entry to the home - and, this is time stamped on our correspondence in the VRBO platform. On page 3 of that guide, we have an entire page entitled "PLEASE READ RE: DISCLOSURE OF SECURITY CAMERAS INSIDE HOUSE". This page details the precise location of each of the five security cameras and invites you to unplug them yourself upon arrival. (The cameras themselves are Canary security cameras easy to unplug.). Every renter we've ever hosted on the property has done just that without any issue. Upon speaking with VRBO, after your stay, we discussed their policy and have since removed **ALL** of our Canary security cameras from the home and will continue to do so for all future VRBO rentals. Like our fellow hosts, we also enjoy sharing our second home with travelers. It gives us great joy to share all the pleasures our family has enjoyed since investing in our home on the mountain. And, similar to our other homeowner hosts, our home is a major investment for us. We use the security cameras to communicate with contractors and other service staff when we're not there, as well as to keep our home investment safe when it is vacant. That's it and that's all. They are *NOT* intended for use when we have renters. (And this is also detailed on page 3 of the house guide you received.) I hope this aids your understanding. While, I won't share further details here that our house manager shared with us regarding the state of the home she found after your stay, I will share them with you directly in a separate communication. I believe that information is better communicated privately, so that you can take it into account for your stays with other hosts whom you may do business with...
