Wonderful stay!

Ivan and Carly were great hosts and we had a wonderful time. The check-in and check out processes were easy and smooth, and the house was very clean. We really appreciated the snacks, coffee, and wine. Overall, it was a great stay that was beautifully decorated and super spacious!

Family size accommodations

The Hickory House is ideal for a large family or group, so much so that no one will be in anyone's way, very roomy. The property is ideally located in Three Oaks with a minimum walking distance to center of town.The hosts were very accommodating with any needs and will address any issues found. The property has a quiet location with alot of open space and nature sounds at night. Everything you might need is basically ready and waiting for you to use. We will definitely keep the Hickory House on our list for future stays

Great house

Our family of 6 just spent a week in this great house. It was perfect for us. Ivan & Carly did an exceptional job of providing everything we needed to make our week as comfortable & relaxing as possible. All of the extra amenities - the wine, snack basket, the bathrobes & slippers, the soaps, shampoo, lotions, towels, toilet paper, paper towels & laundry supplies were so appreciated. Three Oaks is a lovely little town. We will definitely be back.

Great stay

This house was in a wonderful location a few mins walk from downtown three oaks which is adorable. The house is perfect for a large group gathering and the hosts were so prompt with response time and made us feel at home with setting aside some treats and a wine bottle which we greatly appreciated. The property was great for all ages. We were traveling with a newborn and the house conveniently had a pack and play which was awesome. We loved it here!

Notre Dame Football getaway

5 members of our company stayed here while in the area for a UND game. Biggest drawing card for us was 6 rooms amd a large gathering area. The place was spotless, warm, welcoming and lots of little additions and treats that were a very nice touch. Will stay here again for sure. It is an old house, lots of rooms, and full of character. Hosts were grewt to deql with. Quick communication. loved it!!

Family Getaway

My family, including my triplet sisters and our older brother and their significant others and my mother all met at this private amazing home for a long weekend and had a great time. Very clean and we all agreed the robes and slippers in each room were a great, unexpected touch! The multiple porches and outdoor areas were great places for us to hang out and catch up. It is pretty likely we will enjoy this property again!!

Great location

There were three couples attending high school reunions. The house was a great location and had plenty of room for us to catch up. Really enjoyed it.

Accommodating host

I was celebrating my 40th birthday, and was excited about getting away from Chicago for a bit. The house was amazing with plenty of room. The hosts were so nice! They let me a welcome not and a bottle of wine. We had a blast!

Lovely, Spacious, Clean Home

Just spent a long weekend here and we were delighted through and through. It was only our family of four, but this home is huge and would be amazing for multiple families enjoying a vacation together. Plenty of nooks and crannies, huge table for dining, plenty of space to hang out, lovely porch and a fun, conveniently located coffee/wet bar. Internet was blazing fast. Neighborhood itself is in a residential section a couple streets away from the main drag in Three Oaks -- but large yards provide plenty of privacy. There is an occasional train that zips by next door, but was not a nuisance at all (amtrak, I believe, definitely not freight). Note that fireplace in photos is not accessible, but firepit outside is. We look forward to visiting again.

We will be back!

The set up of this home was perfect for what we needed! It had a wonderful living room/dining room space that allowed us all to hangout in the same space! It was walking distance to down town and Journeyman Distillery. The beds were incredibly comfortable and each room was equipped with robes and slippers!

Perfect weekend getaway

This house was perfect for entertaining with family. With a big living and large dining room table, we were able to play games and host a family dinner with everyone sitting together. The extra mini-kitchen in the bar area was perfect for making cocktails and serving coffee in the morning. All the rooms were nicely decorated and each had their own robes, slippers and shower toiletries. The owners clearly put a lot of care into this house!

Christmas weekend

We really enjoyed our Christmas holiday at Hickory House. There were plenty of rooms to sleep our family. The beds were very comfortable. The house was very clean. We really enjoyed the coffee bar and 2 refrigerator. Compliments to the hosts.

Gem in Three Oaks

Our niece’s wedding reception was to be held at the Journeyman’s Distillery in Three Oaks on Dec. 18. We needed a VRBO home close to the venue. The composition of the group: my husband and I, 2 of our daughters and their husbands, 1 son and fiancé, 1 single daughter and 1 single son and three children, ages 9, 6 and 8 mo. The 6 bedrooms worked out great. The house was clean, stocked with many extras (like bathrobes, slippers, 2 refrigerators, etc.), and modern, comfortable interior. The house was 2 1/2 blocks from the Distillery, Vicker’s Theatre, Froehlich’s and other shops, eateries. A 20 minute drive to New Buffalo took us to the Ghost Isle Brewery, which we loved. Maybe the best thing about the house were the extremely comfortable beds with cozy duvets. It was a wonderful weekend and we highly recommend this house!

Perfect place for a group getaway!

We stayed here for my wedding weekend and it was the perfect place for several of us to gather. There was a ton of space to eat and hang out and the many rooms and bathrooms made the place very comfortable as we were all still able to have privacy. The amenities were an awesome touch and much appreciated, I would love to stay here again!

Wedding Weekend Stay

Ivan and Carly have done an exceptional job adding lots of extra touches to help make your stay very at home. The house is perfect for a big family or multiple couples. Each room in the house has robes and slippers!! This house gets 5 stars, but I'd give it a 10 +!!

Excellent place for our wedding party

Our wedding party and their significant others stayed at this place during our wedding weekend. This was perfect for all 12 people that stayed at the place and we even had a small rehearsal dinner in the backyard with ~25 people. The hosts, Ivan and Carly, are the bests hosts we've had in our ~decade of traveling. Definitely recommend this place.

Perfect family getaway

We’re a big family, had 10 adult guests (5 couples) and 2 kids. House and location were perfect for what we needed: close to the beaches/dunes, plenty of hang out space, and enough privacy in each of the rooms. Beds were comfortable and layout of the home was ideal for us, but if you have more than 6 couples the room layout would be a bit of a challenge. The outdoor patio and large property were extra benefits for our yard games and to hang around the fire. The hosts were responsive every time we sent a message. You can tell they care about making the guest experience top notch. Would highly recommend to any groups!

Wonderful!

Our family absolutely loved this beautiful home! Ivan’s home was clean, comfortable, well decorated, equipped with everything you would need and our large family had a ton of space. Every day we walked into the quaint and super cool town of Three Oaks to enjoy a meal at their many choice of restaurants and browsed the town. Our grandchildren loved running around Ivan’s huge yard. The large dining room table accommodated our large group for meals wonderfully. We would 100% recommend staying at this beautiful home!

Best place to stay

The owner was so quick to reply to my questions from the start and the house was just perfect. So many cute little details that were provided to us starting with a little snack basket upon our arrival and essentials provided in the bathrooms including make up wipes that I totally forgot until I turned around and was totally surprised to see them provided to us. The beds were the comfiest I have ever slept in in my life and the comforters were even cozier. House was super clean and the location was so close to any beach we wanted to go to. I would highly recommend this house to anyone!
