In the heart of the landing beaches, between Arromanches and Colleville sur mer (American cemetery), 9km from Bayeux, 35km from Caen, we offer you in a former fisherman's building on the seafront, an apartment with a marine atmosphere classified 4 keys by Clévacances located at first floor its area is approximately 55m².
The building was completely renovated in 2016.
It is composed of a large living room with a fitted kitchen with SEA VIEW, with dining area for 4 people, a high-quality convertible sofa for regular sleeping (15 cm mattress), a bedroom with a double bed, a TV lounge with a large SEA VIEW corner sofa, and a new feature in 2019, a bathroom with a large XXL shower 180x80 with wc, private cellar.

We spent three nights in Geraldine’s adorable apartment. It’s exactly as described and the location is excellent- only a block away from the commercial stuff- quiet and easy to find. We enjoyed cooking each night since the most fabulous fish market with absolutely just caught fish is right across the street. The kitchen is very well equipped and Geraldine is adorable and helpful. She stayed in touch throughout our stay texting to assure our satisfaction, and she offered both French and English information which was also helpful for us. I would definitely make a return visit to this historic and quaint town and I’d absolutely stay in Geraldine’s apartment.

Apartment was even nicer than the pictures indicated. There is a fresh fish market 80-100m from the apartment, and the location is beautiful. The owner is very helpful and kind.

Marvelous spot by the Sea

Everything was just as shown on the listing! Geraldine was incredibly helpful with all our questions and has thought of everything to make one's stay easy and relaxing. The furnishings, the ambience and the incredible view morning and night combined to make our stay very special indeed. Five stars for sure.

Excellent central location and access to most regional sites. Restaurants and shops all in walking distance. The restaurants, bakeries and shops were excellent. Watching the tides and fishing boats going out and coming back was special.

Breakfast by the Sea!

Lovely apartment! Owner was very responsive! Beautiful location...watched the seagulls frolicking in the bay...very nice restaurants within walking distance.Only issue was finding keys to get in the apartment. Our apartment was on the second floor landing on your left...not on the main floor.

better than advertised…this apartment is pristinely clean, stocked with anything you might need. pretty much brand new interior. it is right on the harbor…if you can keep a day JUST for sitting at the window to watch the water go in and out, do it!almost everything for your stay is within walking distance. this village is right between omaha beach and arromanches. geraldine is a wonderfully attentive hostess. one thing: if you have an issue with stairs, this apt is up one flight of stairs, a bit narrow.

Beautiful Apartment in Charming Village Centrally Located

The apartment is beautifully decorated, very clean and well cared for. Geraldine met with us personally for the check in and was very helpful in explaining how everything worked in the apartment and providing information about the area. We loved the apartment and the village where it’s located and would gladly stay there again.

Fantastic location.

Geraldine is a wonderful hostess and very responsive; her apartment has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. Port-en-Bessin is centrally located for all D-Day sights and an interesting enough town by itself. We spent hours watching the commercial fishing boats come in and go out to sea. We would like to return and stay here again.

Beautiful apartment

We had an amazing stay in this darling apartment right on the water. We were able to walk everywhere in town and it was an easy drive to the WWII beaches we were interested in seeeing. Geraldine was an amazing hostess and answered all our questions before we arrived and met us upon arrival to give us helpful tips about where to eat and visit. Highly recommend!

My wife and I can not recommend this apartment more highly. The special touches left for us as a welcome was a lovely touch. Celine was wonderful in helping us check in. The location was fantastic with a fantastic outlook. Great little town with so much to see. For all D-Day travellers, this is a great spot.

Our host thought of everything!

Geraldine is an incredible host. She thought of every detail so we wouldn’t miss anything we needed from home. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. The fishing village is very quaint and nicely located with easy access to the WWII beaches and Bayeux and Caen. I would highly recommend a stay at Geraldine’s place.

Wonderful Waterfront Apartment in Perfect Port Setting

We had a wonderful time in Port-en-Bessin due in large part to this lovely apartment. Everything was clean and comfortable and per the description. Our host was quick to help with any questions and offered suggestions for a market, restaurants, and attractions. We loved being so close to the water and watching the boats go in and out of port each day. The local restaurants provide quality food with a lot of variety. It was enjoyable to just walk along the port and visit all the little shops and grab a coffee or snack. Highly recommend this property!

Fantastic stay

We just had 4 nights here and it was one of the best VRBO we have experienced. Geraldine was helpful and quick to respond from the moment we booked. She met us on arrival to help us settle in and provided us with useful information regarding the area. This is the perfect location to explore the D day beaches…in the middle of all the beaches and close to Bayeux. As for the unit we were impressed. It was like the pictures and even better. Modern kitchen with everything you need including spices. We’ll equip bathroom with beautiful shower. Cozy comfortable bedroom and nice view over the harbour…and lots of restaurants within a short walking distance We highly recommend this apartment for a stay in Normandy

Perfect apartment on the bay

Geraldine was so great. She was there to show us around the amazing apartment. The pictures of the apartment were just what you will see but being there is way better. Walking out and being right on the ocean. Geraldine gave great recommendations for dinner and where to buy anything in town. Amazing seafood restaurants and make sure to walk out the boardwalk to see the sunset. So much to see in the area with the WWII museums, Bayeux and Mont Saint Michel. Port en Bessin was a cool small fishing town and will be going back. Would have stayed longer if we knew this area was so great and stay again in this apartment. Thanks again Geraldine for making our stay so special and celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary.

Amazing location!

The location couldn't have been better! Everything was as advertised - especially the view! Geraldine met us at the apartment and showed us how everything worked. She even had English language literature for nearby sights and local food and beverages for us to try. It was the perfect location for visiting the WW2 beaches, the Bayeux Tapestry and Mont St Michel. The market on Sunday and the daily fish market were amazing. Great restaurants and shops are all just a few steps away. You can relax and just watch the boats, the tide and the water birds all day. Parking the car was easy and free except for Bastille Day when they had certain restrictions due to the fireworks. There is one flight of stairs to the apartment. We highly recommend this rental!

Port En Bessin - Fantastic Location

This is a great property with a perfect location in the fishing port of Port-En-Bessin. Great for exploring the D-Day sites and countryside villages in lower Normandy. The harbor side location was perfect for visiting everything we wanted to see. The building sat directly on the port and was a very short one-minute walk to the lovely port's business center with cafes and restaurants. Our apartment was a second floor unit that was immaculate and beautifully appointed, it has views over the harbour and is very well equipped. The hostess, Geraldine, could not have been more welcoming and helpful in every way. Her communication with us during the booking process and instructions for arriving at the apartment were great and her explanation of everything inside the apartment was very thorough. It is a perfect rental for your time in Normandy and as a base for all the this area of Normandy has to offer. We would not hesitate to highly recommend this property.

Wonderful!!

The property is exactly as it looks in the pictures and even better in person. My husband and I were blown away by the beauty of the apartment and its location. From our first night we were discussing when we might be able to come back. The town of Port en Bessin is just as wonderful. It is a smaller village but has everything you need and within walking distance. Every morning my husband walked to the bakery to get us breakfast. We dined at two seafront restaurants that were a 2 minute walk down the street that had outside seating where you can watch the sunset. We also made a trip to the grocery for drinks and snacks. We would for sure stay here again and Geraldine was fantastic! Met us at check in and went over all the things the area had to offer all of which we took her advice on! This is truly a gem in the heart of Normandy! 10/10

The hostess and host were most accommodating. This was the first time in 2 months and 13 rentals that we were greeted in person. This is quite helpful because the idiosyncrasies of equipment in each apartment is often a challenge. This was the most carefully designed accommodation. We needed nothing more to merely move in. Even the normal annoyances of rental units ( minimal amount of toilet tissue, minimal coffee, no cooking spices, no clothes washing detergent, etc) were not an issue here. Everything was provided for us. It is amazing how minimal these provisions are in most rental when it would be so inexpensive to provide those conveniences. Congratulations to this hostess for being so thoughtful. They were available throughout our stay and we hope that we will be able to return one day. Wonderful town, wonderful apartment

Much more then we thought that we would get

First let me say that Geraldine is a fantastic host. She went out of her way to make sure that we were happy. We have traveled this way for a while and we have stayed at about 20 apartments over the last 15 years. It has been rare to find an owner or manager as attentive. The apartment was well appointed and had everything that we needed. The fish market is about 75 yards away! We cooked here quite often, but we also ate out quite a bit. The restuarants that Geraldine recomended were great. Particularly liked Le Vauban. Really nice couple run the place and their food is great. The closeness to the WW2 beaches was amazing. You can see the Milbury port at Arromanches from the jetty near the apartment. We grew up on the water near fishing boats and to watch the fishing boats come in and go out was really cool. When we come back this is where we will go.

This property is a gem!

We booked the apartment for a week for exploring the D-Day sites and countryside villages in lower Normandy and were thrilled with the property. The harbor side location was perfect for visiting everything we wanted to see, including Utah and Omaha beaches, St. Mere Eglise, the American Cemetery, Arromanches, Point du Hoc, Bayeux, Honfleur, Trouville and some wonderful half-timbered towns and lovely gardens inland. Port-en-Bessain is a terrific base and a really lovely little town with a pretty harbor (amazing Sunsets), and a great Sunday market, plus all the other amenities needed for a visit of any length. While the town has some D-Day significance, it as not nearly as touristy as other coastal villages we saw, which we considered a plus. The hostess, Geraldine, could not have been more welcoming and helpful in every way. Her communication with us during the booking process and instructions for arriving at the apartment were great and her explanation of everything inside the apartment was very thorough. The apartment itself is lovely inside — comfortable with everything we needed in the fully equipped kitchen and good wifi, (which isn't always the case in vacation rentals). Parking on the street right in front was no problem. We would certainly recommend this property with no hesitation.
