L'ESCALE DU VIEUX PORT: Large old house in the heart of a fishing village 20m from the port, completely renovated and tastefully decorated by an interior designer. Enjoy the gym or the main room with TV (French, English and German channels), home cinema, radio, books and games to spend time with your family. This house offers you large spaces. The large kitchen and the living room blend harmoniously and the friendly bedrooms invite you to linger. The fireplace with log storage offers privacy and comfort. 2 bathrooms are at your disposal: one on the ground floor with the gym and the other near the bedrooms upstairs. All rooms are independent from each other. Due to the port life with traders, restaurants and fishermen nearby, you can enjoy the life of a fishing port and be in direct contact with the inhabitants. Buying fresh fish here is as easy as croissants in the morning.
The region also invites you to relax with its cycle paths, its 36-hole golf course near our house, our coastal paths, etc...

Our Region: It offers a very wide variety of very interesting historical sites. In addition to the well-known D-Day landing villages (OMAHA, ARROMANCHES, PORT EN BESSIN, the first Allied oil port, LA POINTE DU HOC, LA CAMBE, etc.), you can visit the many castles and mansions in our region, as well as the very beautiful towns of BAYEUX, which has retained all of its historical harmony. The COTENTIN awaits you with the ports of ST VAAST LA HOUGUE, BARFLEUR, CHERBOURG, the GATTEVILLE lighthouse, the NEZ DE JOBOURG cliffs, etc. Then you can continue to MONT SAINT MICHEL, preferably in the morning to avoid the crowds. Magnificent landscapes, because everything is accessible in a few minutes by car... The romantics will also set sail for the CHAUSEY or TATIHOU islands...

Our history. You are certainly interested in the events that took place during the last war in our region. Know that my family lived during this period in PORT EN BESSIN HUPPAIN and that it actively participated, as a merchant, in supplying the inhabitants, in the DDAY events and in the reconstruction of the country. Das sehr schön und liebevoll eingerichtete Ferienhaus hat uns genauso begeistert, wie die äußerst freundliche und großzügige Betreuung durch den Vermieter. Die ungewöhnliche Lage im Zentrum von Port en Bessin, die dennoch nie laut war, der abgeschlossene Privatparkplatz und die vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Umgebung haben im Gesamtpaket zu einem sehr gelungenen Urlaub geführt. Haus und Vermieter haben 11 von 10 Punkten verdient!

Sehr schöne geräumige Ferienwohnung mit allem was man braucht. Zwei Schlafzimmer, Bäder und eine große Küche mit Wohnzimmer. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. Beste Lage im Ort und fußläufig zu vielen Restaurants. Es ist auch eine gute Lage um Tagesausflüge zu machen. Die Vermieter sind sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.Wir können es nur weiterempfehlen.

Das Haus ist schön eingerichtet, sehr gut ausgestattet und super sauber. Die Lage ist perfekt, man erreicht den Hafen in wenigen Schritten!! Wir wurden ganz herzlich empfangen.

Memorable stay

Excellent location, beautifully decorated, very well equipped. Lots of leaflets and books on the area and the Normandy Landings in particular. The owner, Mr Langlois, was so knowledgable about the town's past that his family had lived through. Plenty of places to eat, and it was very interesting to see the busy fishing harbour.

80. Jahrestag D-Day

Port-en-Bessin ist ideal an den Landungsstränden gelegen. Die Wohnung ist mitten im Ort, nahe der Hafenpromenade mit viel Gastronomie, aber trotzdem ruhig. Der Gastgeber ist sehr freundlich, hat angeboten alles über den Ort zu erzählen. Es gab ein Willkommensgruß und ein Abschiedsgeschenk. Ein wirklich schöner Aufenthalt! Empfehlenswert!

Lovely area

Had a great hol, only negative comments are that no curtains in bedrooms due to being in roof space and difficult to sleep. Lovely host though and very helpful.

Wohlfühl-Ferienhaus in toller Lage

Wir haben eine sehr schöne und erholsame Woche in diesem wundervollen, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichteten und super ausgestatteten Ferienhaus verbracht. Es fehlte uns wirklich an nichts. Ein eigener Parkplatz im Zentrum von Port-en-Bessin rundete die ganze Sache ab. Der Vermieter hat uns sehr herzlich empfangen und mit vielen hilfreichen, wertvollen Tipps versorgt. Port-en-Bessin war für uns ein super Ausgangspunkt für Radtouren in die nähere Umgebung, zu den nächsten Landungsstränden etc. Wir empfehlen dieses Ferienhaus zu 100% weiter und werden es uns auf jeden Fall abspeichern, da wir in dieser einen Woche noch längst nicht alles um Port-en-Bessin herum erkundet haben.

Wundervoll

Wir haben einen wunderschönen Urlaub dort verbracht. Es war alles so, wie es beschrieben war. Das Haus ist mit viel Liebe eingerichtet worden. Wir haben uns sofort wohlgefühlt. Auch durch den lieben und sehr fürsorglichen Gastgeber. Ein besonderes Highlight war das Fest zu Ehren der Fischer, " La bénédicion de la mer". Ein großes Lob an die Bewohner des Ortes, die in den letzten 12 Monaten die tolle Dekoration angefertigt haben. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Idéal pour un séjour en famille !

La maison est vaste, très bien équipée et décorée et idéalement située à la fois pour découvrir Port-en-Bessin à pieds une fois garé ou la région historique du Débarquement ! Les commerces (excellents produits) sont à deux pas, comme le port. Jean-François est intarissable sur l'histoire du lieu et les bons tuyaux qui faciliteront le séjour ! Ce fut un réel plaisir de séjourner ici et de rencontrer les propriétaires!

Incredible stay, highly recommend

We had a wonderful stay the house was lovely, spacious, and well equipped. The town itself was great, lovely shops, amazing crepes and a fantastic market on Sundays. The host went out of his way to make us feel welcome and was extremely informative. Overall a wonderful experience would highly recommend, we’re sad to be leaving such a lovely house and town.

Stay in Port en Bessin-Huppain

Our stay at the residence of Jean Francois Langlois was extraordinary given its location and the personal involvement of Mr. Langlois. The home was extremely clean, comfortable and welcoming! Thank you Monsieur Langlois.

Wonderful Normandy Holiday

This is a wonderful property. We stayed here before in 2019, so we knew this is a great apartment in a cool fishing village. We stayed for two weeks this year and had a great time. M. Langlois is the perfect host! We had several interesting conversations about Normandy, Port-en-Bessin, and the French and Americans. We have stayed in many properties all over France; this is one of the very best.

Spacious house in Port-en-Bessin near invasion beaches

Great stay in spacious town house, 20 paces from dockside, with private, secure car parking. Landlord Jean Francois extremely helpful. He speaks knowledgeably and passionately about the D-day landings,Port en Bessin, and the involvement of his family and neighbours. A stay here is recommended

Schönes Haus in zentraler und doch ruhiger Lage

Sehr schönes Haus, in dem es uns an nichts gefehlt hat. Zudem haben wir JF als äußerst freundlichen freundlichen und unkomplizierten Gastgeber kennengelernt, so dass wir unsere Ferienwoche unbeschwert genießen konnten. Von hier lassen sich viele Sehenswürdigkeiten in der schönen Normandie ansteuern.

Fabulous Port-en-Bessin

Fantastic property in the perfect location. Great hosts who are available with plenty of information about the local area and history. Very accommodating and friendly. House is exactly as described and we found it larger than it looked in the photos. Despite the time of year we had some lovely sunny days and got to enjoy the “goût du large” event on the weekend of our arrival., definitely an added bonus. Great location from which to explore the Normandy coastline and WW2 sites.

We have decided to rent our house in order to receive tourists who want to discover our beautiful region. Our activities are focused on tourism and the discovery of our region.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The house is situated at the heart of the region, only a few metres away from the harbour, the shops, the restaurants, and the regional activities. It is the reflection of the fishermen's houses in which a spirit remains, giving it a soothing atmosphere.
A decorator brought her own delicate touch. On the ground floor, you enter the house, through a corridor that leads you upstairs and to the rest of the house, as well as to relaxing area, a fitness room, a shower room (which includes a sink, a shower and an separate toilet), and a baggage room. Upstairs, the large spaces allow you to go easily from the living area (the kitchen open onto the dining room) and the living room, where you can enjoy the crackling of the fire coming from the closed fireplace. This living room consists of a comfortable sofa which can be turned into a double bed at night.
The two bedrooms are on the second floor and add to the soothing atmosphere of the house, with great spaces under the roof structure. There is also a shower room with WC on this floor.
The direct vicinity with the shops is very convenient and you can even buy fresh fish caught during the night less than 100 m away from the house.
A few meters away, you will have access to the harbour and its activities, and, during summer, great fireworks are launched from there.
Every Sunday morning, you can go to the local market, which is very popular in the region.
