This house is a 2 bed room, 2 bath house located at the mouth of Sugar Creek on Elk River. The house has all the modern amenities required for a comfortable stay. There is a screened in porch overlooking the water. The living room has large windows that allow a beautiful view of the water in comfort. Directv is provided on a large 55" TV. There are also kayaks, paddles and life vests available at no additional charge. The lake is suitable for swimming and Bass, Catfish, Crappie and other game fish are available in the lake.

This house was absolutely perfect for our family! We particularly loved the screened in porch to drink our coffee in the morning and then to sit outside after the kids went to sleep. Can’t wait to stay there again!

Quick stay

We stayed here for the weekend because our daughter was getting married in Elkmont. Beautiful property. I bet it’s really amazing in summer months. Host was very nice and accommodating. Would def stay again!

Great quiet location

The house was perfect for our family. It was clean and had a good view. We enjoyed watching osprey hunt and saw a bald eagle fly by a well as a host of other birds. Mark was very responsive to any questions and the house had everything we needed.

Amazing Stay & Home!

Absolutely amazing home and couldn't be more pleased with not only the view but also the host. Check-in was easy and they made sure we were perfectly comfortable throughout our stay! If we're back in the area there is no place else we'd stay! If I could rate more than 5* I would!

Perfect!

Everything was awesome and amazing! Nice, quiet and relaxing! The house was spotless and had plenty of space for all of us. We kayaked, fished a little and really enjoyed the view. Mark was easy to work with and made sure we had everything we needed.

Updated photographs of the lot should be provided. Three extended power outages - that’s in no way the host’s fault, but it does raise questions about the location.

John, I'm sorry about the power outages, but as you stated, that is totally out of my control. I don't understand the 3 star rating if the only issue was the power outage. The pictures do need updating, but again surely that is not a reason for a 3 rating. I hope you understand the importance of these ratings. We make every effort to provide a good experience for our guests. It would help if you could provide better feedback on any issues or problems so they could be addressed. We have never received this low of a rating on this house, so I would appreciate additional feedback on the issues.

My wife and my son enjoyed our stay very much, my son and I spent a lot of time on the dock fishing and the kayaks were used a lot, we traveled around sightseeing and only spent the mornings and late afternoons at the property but we really enjoyed the location, and of course the fishing and kayaking, my son also spent a lot of time swimming in the river, the house was comfortable and my son who is 15, really liked the upstairs bedroom, the house had a great layout and it would have been very easy to get used to the idea of staying another week but my wife and I had to get back to work, we will definitely keep that place in mind should we plan to stay in that area again, Mr. Mark was a very gracious host and was available anytime I had questions

Fall Break Getaway

I just want to start out by saying that the pictures of this property don’t do it any justice. This was such a beautiful place to enjoy fall break with our children. It is so quiet and the people you do see are friendly. The property itself is something you would dream of for vacation. It is a little far from everything so if you are looking for that then this is the place for you! We enjoyed every bit of what was offered. We will definitely book again in the future!

Peaceful Home on the Lake

We very much enjoyed our stay. The home was clean and had most everything we needed. Although we needed just one more bed for our group, we still had comfortable sleeping on the couch. The morning sunset was beautiful. We also thank Mark for stopping by to check in on us, and to let us know if we needed anything. The binder in the house with all information about the home and the area was also very helpful. Thank you, we hope we can visit again.

Rural Alabama get away

This VRBO was wonderful! It was so clean, and i am super picky. It was one of the most, if not the most serene/peacful places i have ever stayed. It's a little out of the wat, but that's the point. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially one who is looking for a restful, peaceful escape. The only suggestion I would give, and this isnt to the Host, just grab whatever groceries you think you are going to want/need on the way. It's a bit of a drive to a grocery store if you check in first if you have had a long drive.

What a view!

Peaceful tree lined street. Opened the door to the cabin to be greeted by a fantastic view of the water. Boat launch nearby so we could dock the boat for the weekend. Spacious cabin, super clean, comfortable beds, had everything we needed for a wonderful stay from a washer/dryer, fire pit and grill. Enjoyed morning coffee on the screened in porch listening to the birds. Our host Mark greeted us upon arrival. Very communicative too. Would highly recommend this property. The only regret, we didn’t bring our fishing gear. Next time!

A very quiet and peaceful place to stay. House was very clean and had every thing you need for your stay. The view from the screened porch was amazing. The owner very easy to deal with and checked on us to make sure we had every thing we needed for our stay. Would stay here again

My wife (Anita) and I recently retired and have started offering our water properties for vacation rentals. This provides us with some additional requirement income and also the opportunity to meet some wonderful people. We started with a house on Sugar Creek that we had owned for several years and rented it when our family was not using the property. Then we purchased a small fishing cabin from some friends just down the street and remodeled it for vacation rental. We purchased this property in 2018, that sits next door to our original house.
