Peace of Mind - Pet Friendly Mountain Home, 2 sided Fireplace 15 minutes to Boone!

Recently updated home in Hound Ears resort with fantastic central location. With three bedrooms each with their own private bath, this home also features a two-sided fireplace, WiFi and chef's kitchen to comfortably accommodate up to six with two queens and one king.

We came to get away from home for a bit. We went snow tubing and ziplining.
We drove thirteen hours to get here from Miami FL and it was worth it to enjoy the splendor of winter! We went sledding behind the house, tubing, ice skating and snowboarding at sugar. We enjoyed the cabin so much that we ate all of our meals and spent our downtime here. The small town of Boone and 'Peace of Mind' gave us so many beautiful memories that will forever be treasured. We can't wait to come back!


Rustic meets modern in this recently updated wooded retreat located in Hound Ears Club, just a fifteen minute drive to Boone, Blowing Rock and Banner Elk. While nestled among the trees, the home has a beautiful view from its upper and lower level decks. With level entry and a Master Suite on the main floor, Peace of Mind is also a great option for those with limited mobility.

Featuring a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, the open floor plan of the home allows for a large living room area, where the unique two-sided stone fireplace is ready to light, dining space with seating for up to four, and the best part – a true chef's kitchen with Thermador Professional Series range featuring four gas burners, center griddle and 5.0 cubic feet of oven space. This luxury kitchen has all the accoutrements necessary for the gourmet in your family, with additional seating for four at the bar.

Another family room with a half bath lies just beyond the kitchen, where a large flat screen HD television is available to watch the big game or the latest flick, while again enjoying the unique fireplace! Just past this cozy nook is the main floor master bedroom – featuring a king bed with deck access and a large bathroom with Jack and Jill sinks.

Downstairs you'll find two additional bedrooms, each with queen beds and private baths, both with lower level deck access, and one with a flat screen HD television with cable access. There is also television nook between the two bedrooms with a cozy couch.

Comfortable for up to six, Peace of Mind is an ideal retreat for adult couples, or a family looking for a home that feels private without sacrificing access to local attractions like Tweetsie Railroad and Grandfather Mountain. -Please note that due to neighborhood restrictions, reservations may only be booked more than 3 days, or 72 hours, prior to arrival. Guests must complete an information form for the Hound Ears neighborhood upon booking, and the reservation will be approved based on the form.

Additional Important Notes:
- Motorcycles are strictly prohibited inside the Hound Ears community.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided.
- Rental guests cannot access any Hound Ears Club amenities or buildings, including golf, pool, tennis, or the restaurant; as per Club rules updated in late 2023.
- Please note that the distances shown on VRBO's map feature are measured in a straight line rather than actual road travel distances and times. We cannot change their setting for this, and encourage all guests to independently verify distances to desired destinations.
- Check in is after 4pm and Checkout is by 10am
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be req Tuired if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.

-This home allows up to 4 mature, well-trained dogs with an additional pet rent of $25.00 per pet per night plus tax. Pets other than dogs are not permitted.

CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
