With a king bed in the master, two twin beds in the guest room, and a sleeper sofa in the living room, this lovely condo sleeps 6 guests comfortably. Snowbird Season runs November thru February. For a quote, select an arrival date (must be the 1st day of the month) and a departure date (must be the 1st day of a subsequent month). Contact us for alternate date requests and further assistance! All monthly rentals are subject to an additional $150 cleaning fee.

The Islander features Two Pools (one seasonally heated), Two Hot Tubs, Lighted Tennis Courts, shuffleboard, covered grill gazebo, coin operated laundry, on-site fitness center plus a connected private beach. The Islander is situated on Holiday Isle, which is a peninsula surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico and Destin Harbor! It's a serene little oasis in the middle of Destin, with 2.5 miles of paved trails for walking and biking, surrounded by quiet neighborhoods perfect for exploring. Located just minutes away from restaurants, shopping, boat docks, fishing, golf, and amusements.

Area Attractions: 

An easy walk along the beach will take you to the jetties, where the Gulf of Mexico and Destin Harbor meet, a spot well-known for great snorkeling and fishing. Here you can also watch boats going out deep sea fishing and returning from gulf to harbor. 

The Islander is perfectly located next to Destin Harbor, where you have access to and can enjoy a sunset dolphin cruise, snorkeling, parasailing, wave runner and paddle-board rentals.

Close by is Destin Commons, a beautifully landscaped, pedestrian-friendly area and a great family venue where children will love to play in the interactive water fountains. Also, for the younger guests, a nautically/pirate themed outdoor playground features a 1,750 square foot soft play area with various creatures from the sea, slides, and a treasure chest!  Destin Commons also has a mini-train for the kids. Destin Commons features over 75 shops and restaurants, including Godiva Chocolates, AMC Movie Theaters and Bass Pro Shop.

Great communication

Our overall experience was GREAT! Communication waa amazing. We had one little issue with the refridgerator (we were informed before we arrived and we opted to try to wait, but it completely stopped working). I text the PM and within 24 hours we had a new fridge. They even reimbursed us for the cost of our ice to keep our groceries cold in coolers. Our unit was a bit dated, but clean. My only suggestion would be that the mattresses need upgraded. Other than that. Was a great stay!

Okay stay

Some positives - The condo was a bit outdated but overall it was clean. The view was really nice and our kids loved playing in the pool. Now for some negatives - The refrigerator barely worked. A maintenance person came in at one point and replaced some part in the freezer and it seemed like it made it even worse. We lost several food items because of it. Also the beds were very uncomfortable and the ceiling fan in the bedroom had two partially broken blades that would occasionally clank until we got up there to adjust them. Finally, if you want to use the private beach and need shade, you are not allowed to bring your own umbrella/canopy, you have to rent it daily for 55. For the money we paid for this, we were overall pretty disappointed.

Safe family environment the property does look like the pictures but add about 6-7 years of wear and tear. Upgrades are needed but still a nice stay and friendly staff

Great experience

We stayed 4 nights and it was a very comfortable stay. We enjoyed the views, pools, cooking area, and of course the beaches!

Great stay

Everything was great the location,the front desk workers were really nice the condo was nice the view from the condo only thing i would have to change would be the beds they were really worn an not to comfortable and house keeping came the very last day we were there and there was a dirty blanket in the closet when we got there over all i would stay again that’s just simple issues that can easily be fixed

Cozy, convenient and with great amenities

We loved this property—especially the amenities! Tennis and pickleball courts were amazing. Two pools, two hot tubs; they were clean and easily accessible. The grilling/picnic area was large, with tables and grills to accommodate several families at once. Office staff was helpful and friendly. We would recommend this to all and will probably come back again.

Great location for family vacation

This condo could use a little updating, especially the beds, they were all pretty uncomfortable however everything else was great! The amenities were all clean and in working order, pools were well taken care of and not overcrowded. The short walk to the beach was perfect! All kitchen utensils needed are provided but you must supply your own toilet paper/paper towels/dishwasher detergent/ect. Overall, we had a wonderful experience here and would stay again!

We enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay. The condo needs some updating. One of the twin beds was broken, fridge didn't cool well and no kitchen sink stopper. Over all though it was a nice place to stay.

Fun

The condo was perfect walking distance to the beach. My teenagers were safe and able to walk around the property alone. The air was out the first day but once I reported it they fixed it after hours while we were at dinner. The owners need a new comforter in the main bedroom. I didn’t use it. But it didn’t affect our stay. I would stay here again.

Beautiful getaway

The Islander was a great location! However our unit was not updated. The beds were the most uncomfortable beds I slept in. We were all aching.I would compare them to (prison beds) The beach was amazing. The location was great but our unit was not as clean as I expected it to be. That was the only down fall and upset of our trip. We didn't feel good in our unit.

Family vacation

The condo was plenty large enough for our family of 5. The balcony overlooked the pool/shuffleboard area & had ocean view. Couch is comfortable, beds pretty firm. The pull out mattress was very thin, our 9 year old is 58 pounds and said she felt the springs, so I would not recommend for adults. I do wish there were more hooks to hang sweatshirts, swimsuits or towels, as well as bowls and spoons in the kitchen as there was a shortage among the 5 of us! The condo is much closer to the stairs than elevator so we chose to mainly walk up and down the 4 flights, which brought us out closer to the pickleball & shuffleboard. The pool and hot tub were clean and never seemed overcrowded, with plenty of seating and umbrellas around the pool, bathrooms next to the pool as well. The beach was beautiful and very short walk from the condo. Be warned you are asked not to bring umbrellas and must rent one if you wish to use those provided on beach. Unfortunately there were red flag/rip tide warnings most of the days we stayed so we didn’t swim in the ocean much. We did see dolphins playing in the waves though! We enjoyed the shuffleboard and pickleball on site, equipment provided was in good condition. It is a short drive to numerous shopping and dining locations. Overall a good stay and we recommend!

Not great

Location is an easy walk to the beach and the beach is very nice. The checkin process was bumpy. The room was not fully cleaned and had stains on the walls, mold on the bathroom ceiling, broken bedroom door knob, stains on the frayed carpet, and stained bedding. Reached out to the property manger. They were quick and helpful and did their best to get the place put together better. We ended up leaving a day early. Wasn’t impressed.

Third Party Property Management

This condo is managed through a third party management company. We had some hiccups in our check-in procedure and thankfully they were accommodating. However, the property details the beach access is not the beach access in front of the condo. RealJoy vacations tells you to go to the beach a mile away. Luckily the condo complex was gracious and allowed us on their beach access. Something to be aware of that RealJoy needs to arrange their customers.

The place was under stocked. It had hardly any toilet paper and nothing like salt and pepper.

The place also didn’t have enough garbage bags. The bed that I sept on needs replaced. The bathroom toilet runs and is loose. I think the owners need to stay in it for a week and see for themselves. I did love the location but the view has been blocked. I would not stay in the unit again for $500.00 a night. I believe it’s a 3 star value with a 4 star price. My kids loved it but I’ve stayed in several condos is Destin and they were all better.

Romick Florida vacation

The check in was complicated had to go to one location for the key cards then go to the actual condo. The condo itself was pretty nice but there was black mildew/mold in the bathroom on the ceiling. In the other bathroom the shower didn't work correctly either cold or molten lava with no in between. And zero water pressure! Listing said centrally located but had to drive to do anything other than the beach. It rained alot ( can't control the weather) but we had to do a lot of Ubers! We made it work but feel like we could have been more prepared if we would have known. Also thought there was a washer and dryer in the condo but it was a common room on a different floor. Would absolutely use Vrbo again but not Real Joy Vactions..

Great stay!

The condo was spacious with a great view. I few "fixer upper" items that I had read from 2019 and 2020 were still issues, but they were minor and did not effect stay. Location wise, you had to drive to store, resturants, and boardwalk. Not a big deal except for traffic. Would definitely stay here again.

Check in process was a rough, after picking keys up at another location, they were not activated. Condo as a whole we enjoyed and would stay again.

Enjoyed it

We had minor issues with access to our unit and the icebox was leaking but they did offer to come out and fix it. Over all we had a great time beds comfortable we had access to everything. The only downside for us was the hot water ran out fast. Would I stay again yes.

Great first vacation to Florida!

We had a small problem when we used our keycards to get in the condo, they weren't activated! So after traveling many hours and bringing our luggage upstairs, we had to wait for management from The Islander to give us new keycards to access our condo. Other than that small hiccup everything was wonderful! The temperature of the room was set to a good degree, the room smelled amazing with a scent bag themed with the room! The view was amazing! We had plenty of towels for us- we would recommend!
