Welcome to Silver Bear, a spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom log cabin designed for relaxation, fun, and unforgettable time with family and friends. Located on the beautiful Log Country Cove property, this cabin offers an ideal blend of comfort, indoor entertainment, and easy access to Lake LBJ—just 600 yards away. With room to sleep 10–12 guests, Silver Bear is perfect for large families, friend groups, and Hill Country getaways.

The cabin had great amenities and we didn't wander too far from the beautiful pool and sauna. The cabin was cozy and the AC worked great,almost too great which is a good thing in steamy Texas. We will definetly stay here again. It was a fantastic experience.

Perfect secluded getaway

We wanted a spaceous, secluded house with a pool to have an adult getaway since we have all been isolating since March. We were all so pleasantly surprised by the house and the amenities were plentiful. Will definitely be staying at this house or one of their other properties very soon.

Annual Grandparent Trip at Silver Bear Lodge

The cabin was clean and comfortable, and there were so many things to do. We were well informed from owner=office about what we needed to bring, etc. it was perfect. We hope we are able to bring the grandkids again next summer. Silver Bear is special to us!

When we arrived, we a small issue with turning on the lights in one of the bedrooms but the staff was very quick to respond and fixed the issue. We had plenty of the room for the entire family. We will definitely be booking again soon!

Cozy and Secluded Getaway Spot!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was the perfect spot for our family to meet up and spend precious time together. The cabins at Log Country Cove are spread out and secluded from each other, so there's lots of privacy. We loved the Silver Bear cabin and loved having our own private pool and hot tub to enjoy. The kitchen is set up with everything you need to cook your own meals, or there are great places to go out to eat in nearby Kingsland (we liked La Tequila Jalisco). There's also a beautiful winery just 3 miles to the north that we really enjoyed. The property was very clean and well taken care of. The manager was very attentive and helpful when we had questions and needed help turning on the hot tub. Highly recommended vacation/retreat spot! :)

It could have been better

The pictures didn’t show the actual size. The AC upstairs didn’t work when we arrived but they did get it going. It should have been checked beforehand & turn on before our arrival. The second day we were at the pool & the pool guy showed up to clean. We were not happy about that. However the view from the upstairs patio had a great view. I’m not sure I would stay there again.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've stayed at different cabins at log country cove and this would have been great if it wasn't for the insane amount of cob Webb's everywhere you looked. Understandably there's some elements of nature to be expected. However it looked like the cabin had been sitting for a while untouched. Cob Webb's could be seen in every corner, by the TV, fireplace, stairs, under the couches, bugs coming out from under the couch that made you feel a little weary of trying to sit down and relax. We even had Cobb Webb's on the window sill in the master upstairs which isn't the greatest knowing you'll be sleeping there. The cabin did have a great kitchen with plenty of utensils and dishes to use, even some seasonings. The pool was great and spent most of our time there.

While it's great to hear that the cabin had a well-equipped kitchen and that you enjoyed the pool, it’s unfortunate that cleanliness issues, particularly with cobwebs and bugs, impacted your overall stay. Finding cobwebs in every corner and bugs can definitely make it hard to relax and fully enjoy your time in a cabin. It’s perfectly reasonable to expect a clean and welcoming environment, especially for a vacation. Cleanliness plays a big role in the enjoyment of a stay! 6th Year visiting Log Country Cove

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We always have a wonderful time visiting the Hill Country and staying at the Log Country Cove. We love fishing, swimming in the pool, and the atmosphere. We have stayed three times out of our six visits at Silver Bear. We will probably stay at another cabin next year. Silver Bear needs some updating. The tile upstairs in the bathroom is cracked in many places; there are little black bugs in the sinks and jet tub. The downstairs bathroom bathtub was slippery, with no toilet paper holder. The water hose was not usable due to many cracks and holes. The pool could use a real good cleaning. We made wonderful family memories and were able to celebrate my parents' 43rd wedding anniversary.

Overpriced

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First let me say the property itself is great. We loved the location and the grounds, however the cabin left ALOT to be desired. While our family enjoyed the pool and the pool table lots of other things completely missed the mark. The cabin was dirty. Cobwebs in corners, lots of dust (the vent above the stairs looks like it hasn't been cleaned in YEARS as there is dusty all over the wall near it and coming out of it), rust around the bottom of the downstairs bathroom, not a single set of blinds worked in the house or was broken, and the hot tub water level was way low. For the price you pay per night I expected ALOT more luxury. Rustic doesn't need to mean dirty and forgotten about. The linens could also use some updating. On top of that they couldn't quote us a price to heat the pool and instead were charged after our stay. My credit card has been charged but no email or invoice showing proof of the propane usage so the could be just throwing out any number. We will not be staying here again nor recommending to any family or friends.

Regarding the pool heating and the charges you experienced, we understand your frustration. We strive to keep your cost low for heating the pool to further enhance your stay. We can only estimate these charges as we calculate off of propane used instead of a flat fee. We will address the issues of not sending receipts for the charges. Great Family Vacation Spot

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family stayed at Silver Bear cabin. We absolutely loved the pool and spent most of our time in it, but there were several issues that I feel I should bring to your attention.One of the chairs on the back patio is broken and my grandson almost fell backwards off of it, several tiles on the floor in the master bathroom upstairs are broken and we layed towels down so we didn't crack them more, the pots and pans are very dated and the teflon is almost completely off on some of the frying pans, not safe to cook in. Upstairs floor has several floor scratches, paint peeling off of the wall by trash can in kitchen, tub rusted downstairs, the plugs in the master tub and sinks are broken, box fan doesn't work, ducks head is broken in the window seal in kitchen, and the kitchen faucet spring is broken. Also, we could not get any of the TV's to work. Only 1 station or a DVD. Kids had their tablets so no big deal. I wanted to address these not as much as a complaint, but concern that you may be unaware of its condition. The property is the furthest from the amenities so if your looking for privacy this is perfect, but it is a long walking distance to amenities, so we had to drive. Probably wouldn’t stay at this house again

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We probably wouldn’t stay at Silverbear again due to the lack of attention this property had. We had maintenance over every single day fixing something. In my opinion, for the amount of money we paid for this all these things should have been checked prior to our stay. Our family spent close to $20k on these properties to gather for our family reunion. The first night we hosted everyone over our water on the entire house went out. We had very little outside lighting and the toilet chain was broken on the toilet so we had to dig our hand in the tank in order for it to flush. Next day when maintenance to replace the chain he mentioned changing the toilet seat too because he saw it was in bad shape. When I went to lift the top of the tank there was dust all over my shirt. Maintenance came out again to fix the remotes to our fans because those looked like the battery had corroded in them. Our tv remote was lost so our tv didn’t work until the second day as well. Our dish washer was not working so we had to call them out again. The last night there we got back from a gathering at another house and the hot tub was spewing and low water, we hadn’t even used this hot tub. I called maintenance again to come out so the motor didn’t burn up and she asked me if we had a hose, it was midnight and I was not going out there in the dark to search or troubleshoot. There were also little things like the throw blankets being dirty, the picture in one of the bedrooms was just standing behind the headboard which the headboard wasn’t even attached to the bed. Just a lot of things were looked over before letting another family check in and spend $3k on a place that wasn’t ready for guests. Lastly, I know we were out in cabins but they need to make sure they are spraying inside the cabins for pests. My 4 month old baby was laying on the floor on a blanket and we saw a scorpion in our living room.
