Fully equipped kitchen allowed us to eat breakfast and dinner at the house . Great location. We went to Acadia, Bar Harbor, Antiquing in surrounding areas and just enjoying the property itself. Beautiful views! Host was very responsive and checked in mid-stay to make sure everything was okay. Highly recommend.

We loved our time in Surry! Wonderful location on a peaceful road that wasn't too far from Blue Hill and Ellsworth. The wifi was great, which was a good thing because some of us had to work...but at least we worked with a beautiful view! The host and caretakers provided thoughtful touches that were much appreciated and made it feel very homey. We loved it and hope to return!

Wonderful stay on Newbury Neck

Beautiful old house, nicely renovated. Great light. Excellent kitchen with an 8 ½' x 3 . Nice outdoor spaces. Comfortable bedrooms. The host was very responsive. We loved our stay.

Our family trip to Eastlook was a wonderful experience for all. We were traveling with 6 adults and 4 children (3 under 6 and an 11 month old. The house is well equipped for families with high hair, stroller, games and books. The large deck and yard were perfect for the family to use for games and meals. Beach access was across the street and down a mowed path. The private beach was full of starfish and crabs, which we loved. Two days we went to Acadia, the trip is roughly 50 minutes. Being in Surry was so much nicer than being in the chaos of Bar Harbor for our family. We found a beautiful local lake (Branch Lake) for swimming. Close by were nice shops and a small brewery (Fogtown) that was fun and had a play area for children. The property owner (Laurie & Rob) and the property managers (Bob and Sue) were very responsive throughout our stay. Full disclosure, the first night was kinda of unnerving. We had a bat flying around the upstairs bedrooms. Bob (and Sue) came over right away and installed sonic repellent devices as well as searching the entire upstairs bedrooms. Laurie called in the morning as well and followed up during the week. We never caught the bat or saw it again. All things considered, we would rent this home again when traveling to complete our exploration of Acadia.

Views are beautiful. The bedroom with the view is (in my opinion) in need of a new mattress as it was painfully firm (at least to us anyway we are side sleepers). We had to move to the middle room which had a very comfortable bed but alas no view of the water. :( It did have a skylight that was nice as birds greeted us in the tree above us Sunday morning. The appliances did seem older, noisier and not functioning optimally. The oven might need a replacement or maintenance, it did work but not as good as it could have. We used the toaster oven a lot as it cooked at the right temperature and didn't take nearly as long to bake as the gas oven did.More than enough towels, toilet paper, etc. provided. We used very few towels because we usually bring our own but the ones we did use seemed high quality and very soft.The duvets, blankets, sheets were all very nice.Recommend the owner replace the lock or have it lubricated as many times it was difficult to turn the key and the key was so thin I was very worried about it breaking inside the lock.While the place has been renovated and quite nicely, I think it might be time to remove the word "newly" in the description.The fellas that came to pick up trash were so friendly, polite, early and came right to the door!Generally a solid place to stay, amazing location and if the bed in the room with the view was softer that would be a huge improvement. I would stay again and recommend to others.

We had an amazing time in Maine visiting Acadia and experiencing the peace, quiet and solitude this home on Newberry Neck Road afforded our family. You’ll definitely want to stock up on groceries before arriving (Ellsworth seemed to have plenty of options, but is at least a 25 min drive) but everything else was perfect. Check-in was easy, the place was very clean, the kitchen well-appointed (with plenty of spices and condiments), and Laurie was available to answer any questions that came up.

Lovely stay all around

We loved the location and property. Location was in a quiet part of Surry away from the commercial areas. Great jumping off point to get into Blue Hill, down to Deer Isle, or over to Acadia (45 mins away). No traffic, no noise. House was in great condition with everything you'd need. The owners were super responsive, shared helpful location/area information, and were a pleasure to work with.

First Light

There couldn't be a more peaceful and scenic location to greet the sunrise and begin your day. The chirping birds and routine deer sightings are a delight. Our stay on Newbury Neck was perfect. Long walks, jogs, and restful days were wonderful. Ocean access and beautiful views make this spot exceptional. Easy access to Blue Hill, Ellsworth and Acadia make the location ideal, and the house and our hosts were welcoming from the beginning to end of our stay.

Fantastic!

We had a wonderful stay on Newbury Neck. The property is beautiful and the house is wonderful - the best of the many in which we have stayed in Maine over the past 12 years. Perfect location and extremely comfortable residence. The kitchen is a particular plus, with ample amenities. The owners kindly phoned to check in with us upon our arrival, and when I mentioned that the path to the beach had not been mowed (understandable because of a great volume of recent rain locally), someone came to mow the lawn the next day, which was much appreciated. A perfect visit!

Peaceful getaway

We had a wonderful time at Eastlook. Rob and Laurie were very hospitable and accommodating. They checked in to ensure we had no issues and provided recommendations. The location is perfect if you want to explore further northeast to Mt. Desert Island and other islands or south down penobscott bay. Morning and evenings were very relaxing on this quiet street with views of the water with Acadia in the background. The house itself was very comfortable, clean, and well-supplied for our family with young kids (games, Beach towels, and drying rack were handy). I would highly recommend staying here.

Maine paradise

Eastlook is a beautiful home which accommodated our family of seven perfectly. The house is very well equipped, with everything we needed. It is spacious, bright and comfortable. The setting is serene and relaxing!! Taking the mowed path to the private beach was a highlight! We loved it all!! The location was great and we were able to go to Acadia, take a lobster boat ride, kayak, bike, swim & hike local trails. Finding treasures on the beach was a bonus!! Get your relaxation on!

Rob is very responsive and accommodating. Stayed here with two other nuclear families and our pup, had plenty of space and didn’t even fully utilize the downstairs activity room with the pull-out couch. Lobster pound and public beach just down the road were great bonuses. Close enough for day trips to Acadia. Loved the outdoor space with playground for young ones, spacious deck, plenty of seating for eating / relaxing, and perfect shade trees for hanging our hammock. Loved the skylights in the bedrooms, and the sleepy town nature of the country road. Beachfront was as advertised- our own little piece of tranquil heaven.

Our beach week

We had a terrific vacation in Surry. The house is lovely...very comfortable and spacious, with relaxed furniture. We had 6 adults ranging from 20 to 75 and a 2 and a half year old. There was plenty of space for us to be together, and also good private space. The deck with its views of the mountains of Acadia is enticing. The beach is literally a 5 minute walk. It's very swimmable. We rented kayaks, canoe, and paddle boards and launched all easily from the beach. We appreciated the beautiful setting, its proximity to highlisghts of the Maine coast, and also the fact that the town of Surry is not touristy or crowded.

Totally enjoyed our stay at Eastlook!

Our Eastlook experience was everything we had hoped it would be and more...Our 3 generations made the beautiful house our home for a week and we are still reminiscing about what a memorable vacation it was! Waking each morning to the beautiful sunrises and peaceful views, made each day, from start to finish, something special! The proximity to the water and unusually warm temperatures for Maine, allowed us to not only enjoy finding "treasures" on the beach but to actually be able to enjoy swimming! Day trips to explore the beauty of the area brought us to Acadia, Blue Hill, and Bar Harbor several times. Upon entering the home, we were greeted by fresh flowers and several gifts from the owners to welcome us and help us celebrate my husband's upcoming birthday. That personal touch spoke volumes! Our week long experience will be unforgettable... I continue to look at the photos we captured, knowing those memories will always bring joy to our hearts. Thank you Rob and Laura for sharing your beautiful home! We hope to be able to return someday...The Grimm Family

Beautiful house, great location. Quite a bit of miscommunication/misinformation when arriving. Cleaning crew still cleaning when we arrived at 4:20. We had to wait about 1/2 hour for them to finish. (Check in is 4). They left and we try to unlock house and given an old code. Had to get ahold of owner for the right code to unlock. The house is beautiful and housed 6 adults easily. The cleaning crew did a very light cleaning. Did not dust or vacuum under any furniture. Could clearly see wrappers under couch. Also had an old Wi-Fi password in information booklet left out. Had to ask owner and was told the new password was left on the side of fridge instead of in the information booklet with all other info. Would of saved time and confusion to have right info upfront. Overall we had a great vacation and enjoyed our stay.

Great location in Maine

Our family had a wonderful week in Down East Maine. The location of the home allowed for easy travel to Acadia and Bar Habor as well as other coastal locations. The home was clean with ample linens and other essentials. The highlight of the property was definitely the swing set and easy access to the beach!

Quintessential Maine

We truly enjoyed our time! The location was all that one would picture of Maine. We loved having access to the water for early morning sunrise and viewing Acadia across the water. We had the added bonus of viewing the fireworks from the beach. The location was close enough for day trips to Acadia and other activities -we chartered a sail with a lobster bake. House was well stocked for meals in and the owners were fantastic to work with. Owners gave a recommendation for Perry’s Lobster Shack down the road and food was fabulous! Close enough to order to go as well. The only downside was the floors were not vacuumed as well as we wanted; however, all other areas cleaned well. We created some wonderful memories of Maine with our family!

Perfect getaway

What a find! Big, airy house with lots of skylights and amazing views. We loved stargazing each night with hundreds of fireflies. House was very clean, well equipped, and owners very communicative. We loved being a short distance from Acadia but also having the beach and local places to explore. The perfect house for a perfect vacation!
