Clean and neat, this sweet spot features REAL bed (queen foam mattress) and all the comforts of home! 1 blk off Hwy 101, you'll enjoy quiet relaxation. Minutes from magestic redwood forest, and infamous Ave of the Giants. 18mi to College of the Redwoods, 35mi to Humboldt State University newly renamed to Cal Poly Humboldt. Rich in flora and fauna, a short walk to Eel River, or 15min drive to Humboldt Bay Wildlife Refuge, or the heart of the Redwood National Park. Beach is a 15min drive. Sorry, NO pets at this time. NOTE: this is a NON-SMOKING property. Thank you for respecting this.
Features delightfully comfortable queen bed. TV in living room. Bathroom has SMALL shower. Just added hand-held shower head for easier "usability". Full kitchen, stocked with utensils, pots & pans for use. Refrigerator is apartment-size, larger than "dorm size".
Lovely deck in rear of unit, with propane fire pit.
This property has 2 living spaces, separated by a walkway. This guest studio is built into the back of the large metal building ... and is very quiet and private. The other unit is a small house inhabited by our tenants. Please do not disturb.
NOTE: For stays longer than 7 days, washer/dryer can be made available. Additional fee may apply.

Rio Dell Gem

Great place for a couple to stay in the Rio Dell/Fortuna area. Very easy access to 101 making it easy to go North or South. Quiet neighborhood. The unit was very clean and comfortable. Also very nicely stocked with coffee/teas and bathroom necessities. We will definitely stay again!

Perfect for what I needed.

This is a cute little apartment. It is just the right size for a single or couple. The location is right off the 101 so there is easy access. I was able to walk everywhere I needed to go. The Eel river is 1/4 mile away. There is also paved walking trail that borders the river.

Perfect for our needs

The place itself was so clean and well cared for. The hosts thought of everything. The only negative that we had was the size of the shower and that is a small negative that we knew about as we signed up for this. The Rio Dell town is really small without many options but Fortuna is 7-8 minutes away with more options. We found the location to be an ideal spot to visit the Redwoods South (Avenue of Giants) and the Redwoods North (Orick). Overall, we were really happy with the place and the seamless nature of the whole experience!! Highly recommend!!!

Fun Fun!!!

We had a wonderful time visiting Humboldt Redwoods State Park and the Lost Coast! Hiked many many miles daily, and had a nice cozy place to come back too ; to relax and dry off after long days! It was a perfect location and great for the two of us to retreat back to for some comfort and lodging!

This was a perfect utilitarian place for 1 or 2 people. Close to the highway, the forest and rivers, not far from Fortuna.

Redwood. Retreat was refreshing!

I enjoyed my stay. The rental was cute and provided everything I needed and had a cute outdoor sitting area. The hot water was a little tricky, but was fine after I figured it out. I plan on staying here in the future.

Comfy space near big trees

Very well set-up for a short stay. Bed was comfy and coffee selection was varied. Bonus water bottles in the fridge. Roses on the windowsill. All was appreciated. Much thanks.

What a cute and lovely stay

We stayed at this property for a long weekend getaway to explore the Redwoods and surrounding towns. The house is so cute and has everything that you need for a relaxing stay, including a full kitchen and tv. The bed was very comfortable and there was a kitchen table area where I could get some work done if needed. The backyard was such a lovely place to sit and drink coffee in the mornings or eat dinner. We really enjoyed our stay!

Cozy spot

My husband and I had a lovely stay. The owners made sure that everything a guest would need was available. The outdoor sitting area was nice, a cozy kitchen and sitting area for 2, and the neighborhood was quiet. The location was convenient in that it was right off the highway so we couldn't get lost and it's right in between Eureka and the Redwoods (about 30-40 minutes away) so it was no issue accessing either location for whatever we felt like doing. My only minor complaint is that the shower is a bit too small, but we made it work. If we're ever in the area again I would definitely go back. Thank you for everything!

Lovely property

This property was perfect for our weekend stay. Close to everything we needed and such a cozy space. The property owners left little touches to make the space welcoming. My favorite were the roses in the vase in the kitchen window. If we are ever in the area again, we will for sure be staying here!

Rental was clean quiet easy access to Express way , Great location to beaches and redwoods Messaged owner and quick response back Had everything you could want Had homemade meals and coffee in morning took off for the day to visit nearby towns: Ferndale Eureka Both a must see Then Redwoods we headed north from San Diego so much to see on the way Muir Woods , Redwood Highway and Avenue of the Giants amazing trip !!!

Little piece of paradise

Randi and Jim were absolutely amazing at communicating, the place was wonderful & clean, the bed was a little stiff for me but realize we all have difference preferences. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could need, lots of nice touches including coffee, granola bars, masks, hand sanitizer, shampoo/conditioner, fresh unopened sponge! The back patio is private and loved using the fire rocks gas fire pit!! Great stay, amazingly close to the Redwoods. I had a wonderful stay!! Thank you so much

Great place!

Very clean and quiet! Really felt comfortable and able to relax! Maybe a little farther to the state parks than I thought but not bad once you get used to the mountain roads. Close to the Avenue of the Giants though! Would definitely recommend this place 100%.

Cute little home base for exploring

This tidy, quiet little studio was nicely appointed and quiet for our getaway to the redwoods. The owners were incredibly responsive and helpful with every aspect of booking, and with sending out someone to replace the gas cylinder on the firepit. A very nice place to stay.

Very clean place

We enjoyed the stay and found it comfortable and well suited for me and my wife. We were a bit surprised to find out it is built in the back half of a large metal garage. But I must say this little apartment is well designed and has everything you need. The hosts have thought of many details that make staying there very nice. They have a charging station for any kind of electronic device you have. There’s a Bluetooth speaker. Flashlights, Keurig coffee maker and several pods. The tv has Amazon prime, Netflix accounts logged in for using.. there are USB ports on the headboard of the bed. We didn’t do any cooking but the kitchen has everything you would need. There are 2 things that impressed me the most. One is how clean it is, very clean. The other is how quite it was at night. Probably quite during the day also but we weren’t there during the day. There are only 2 minor issues I can think of while staying here and they have already been mentioned in other reviews. The first issue is the size of the shower. It is very small and could be a problem for a larger person. Also, if they had a detachable shower head like motorhome have it would make it easier to shower. The second thing is the bed being against the wall on one side. The person laying on that side needs to crawl in and out of the end of the bed. Again, these issues are minor and would not stop us from staying here again if it’s available. We travel up to this area a lot and will definitely be staying here when we can.

Absolutely a Redwood Retreat

The property was easily located and absolutely adorable inside. The location is convenient with close access to the freeway. One of the most relaxing and impactful recharging vacations I’ve ever had. Jim & Randi were very easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend staying here and will likely do so again.
