Circa 1924, this cozy cottage sits on the riverbanks of the beautiful Guadalupe River right downtown Kerrville, with immediate access to Kerrville's top attractions. Located right across the street from the Kerrville Nature Center, guests are steps away from the Kerrville River Trail, walking distance to top restaurants including Grape Juice, Thai Ocha, Francisco's, and Yeo Bo's, as well as several shopping boutiques, antique stores, and Pax Coffee & Goods. Spend the day kayaking, paddle-boarding, biking, fishing, swimming, or exploring Kerrville's parks, museums, and golf courses. Relax on the private riverfront, or take a short 30 minute drive to Fredericksburg, Comfort ("an antique town"), Bandera (the "Cowboy Capital of the World"), or Lost Maples State Park. This centralized location gives guests access to all that the Texas Hill Country has to offer! Please read the full PROPERTY DETAILS listed below.

Great Place to Explore Kerrville

Well appointed and comfortable space. We enjoyed being so close to town and the river trail. Drank my morning coffee at the chairs overlooking the river and saw deer.

Awesome Anniversary

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and we loved every part of this place. I’ve already recommended this place to a couple of people and hope they stay. I was nervous after reading the reviews about being near a Main Street but we hardly noticed it. I will definitely bring my kids back to stay at the bigger cottage next time!

Cons:BBQ pits not in very good shape and having to share recommend moving 1 closer to each cottage...bees nest under porch.. kayaks in bad shape...exterior of property needs a little TLC. Holiday visit

Great location for our holiday visit. Communication with hosts was excellent, cottage was exactly as described and fit our needs well. Convenient access to river trails, shops, and restaurants while also being private.

Great weekend getaway

Cottage by the River is a super nice place right on the river! This is our second time staying here. There are 2 individual cottages in one building. The one we stayed in this time is small but perfect for 2 people. Very cozy with a fireplace. There is also several outdoor areas to sit and enjoy wildlife. A group of deer visited Avery day. There were quite a few different birds also. Will definitely come back.

The atmosphere is so relaxing. People our friendly. So much to do just at the cottage; biking, walking, kayaking, fishing. You don't have to even leave the cottage. Great food to eat along the Guadalupe River. Definelty going back. Oh and this was our 2nd trip to Cottage by the Sunset. Can't wait for the 3rd trip already :)

Wonderful respite!

This cottage is darling. It’s well decorated and appointed with every convenience. First aid kit, fancy dish soap, board games are all there. The outdoor space is gorgeous. There are multiple areas if there are visitors at the two other rentals. My favorite part is the location. Yes, the road outside is busy. I’d be careful with small children but it’s so convenient. I borrowed the super cute bike available. You can ride along the river on the safe path. It’s a gorgeous park. I had no car for 5 days and found it so easy yo get to restaurants, stores and the hospital.

Short Getaway in Cozy Cottage

The cottage was great! Right next to the river, the nature center and a beautiful trail for easy walking/biking. HEB down the street gives you everything you need for a cozy, chill stay. Listing was accurate - and yes you can hear cars going by, but it didn't bother us and the fan provided really helps if it is an issue. We did run into a few quirks (the lock on the door didn't seem to lock consistently from the outside and the stovetop sometimes didn't work/dial numbers were loose on the oven dial, so it made cooking interesting). But overall would recommend if you're going to be out and about most of the time and just need a place to crash or need a nice little retreat for a few days.

Kerrville stay

We enjoyed our stay in The cottage by the river. It was clean and had everything we needed. While it is next to a street the traffic and noise were minimal. We would stay there again.

A little overpriced.

This property is a bit smaller than expected. It is right on the road so you an hear daily traffic. Bathroom is tiny. For the price and fees, its more than a local hotel stay.

Business trip

This is an adorable and very comfortable place to stay. I was there for business. The bed is great! Great coffee maker. Nice wine glasses. The details are nice and feels very trendy. I think the front welcome mat needs to be replaced and the front porch chairs repainted but those are very minor complaints. I would stay here again.

Cozy and Comfortable Cottage located on Guadalupe River

My wife and I enjoyed a short two night stay here. The place is small but lovely. Has everything you need. Nice sitting area for guest overlooking river, ducks and deer. Overall highly recommend this property. Great value.

Great Retreat

This cottage was lovely! Great location, roomy bedroom, efficient kitchen. Firepit and viewing deck were awesome. Owner responded very promptly to all of my inquiries. Would recommend to anyone interested in enjoying comfortable accommodations with the enjoyment of seeing deer, turtle, ducks, and more !

Simply Perfect!

My daughter and I loved our stay while in Kerrville. The cute little house was perfect for our needs. It has been beautifully updated and the grounds/amenities was an added bonus! The location was amazing as well. Loved our stay. (Not a problem for us, but there are about 5 steps to go up in order to enter the property.)

Great amenities and location!

Super cute place! Comfortable bed. LOVED the provided bikes and kayaks! Across the water (and along a short dirt path out your backyard) is a beautiful island with a great paved path for walking or biking to a popular swim hole area! It is so close! We also kayaked to it! H-E-B is 2 blocks away and for a longer stroll you can walk to the downtown area! We did one evening. There is a nature center across the street and you are right on the river trail (the paved path mentioned above) that goes for miles to your right or left. We explored that one day. You can’t hear your neighbors at all through the walls and at night we can’t hear the traffic on the road. They offer a box fan as well for extra cooling or white noise. Thought the AC works great and you don’t need it. Nice, big shower with good water pressure and hot water. Owners give you a detailed email of everything included in the rental. There are 3 different, VERY nice sitting areas on the river, so plenty of room to have your own space with other renters next door. This is a fantastic place!
