SOUTH RIVER GUEST HOUSE
The perfect place for a medium to large family getaway!

South River Guest House is located in the South River Valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains, just minutes from Charlottesville and Harrisonburg, VA. The entire Guest House has been freshly renovated, refurnished and expanded while maintaining its original country charm.
South River Guest House has a full width front porch with bench swing and rocking chairs looking out over the pasture to the South River to compliment incredible mountain views from nearly every window.
This property features four bedrooms and four baths:
ā€¢ First floor bedroom with ensuite; king bed
ā€¢ Second floor south-side bedroom with ensuite: queen bed
ā€¢ Second floor north-side bedroom with ensuite: queen bed
ā€¢ Second floor north-side bedroom: 2 twin beds
We have expanded the family room to include the large kitchen and a formal dining room!
ā€¢ Kitchen features a breakfast bar island & granite counters, gas stove, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig, dishwasher, & French door refrigerator over freezer drawer
ā€¢ Formal dining room next to Great Room; seats eight; outstanding view of the mountains
ā€¢ Great Room contains couch, love seat, arm chair, sitting area near window, 60" flat screen Dish TV - online streaming services available
The Guest House also features:
ā€¢ Side by side washer/dryer units in utility room off of the kitchen
ā€¢ Free Wi-Fi access, contact hosts for password
ā€¢ Plenty of towels, bed sheets, soap, and toilet paper

South River Guest House is attached to the owners' main house but is separated by a locked connecting hallway. It is a complete home unto itself with its own entrances. We totally respect your privacy but will always be available for your questions or conversation about things to do in the area.

Vacation stay

We stayed here on the last leg of our vacation and we loved it. The house was very peaceful and welcoming and we loved our visit with Ollie. If we are back in the area, we would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Farm Retreat

We rented the guest house for a long weekend exploring the National Park and surrounding areas. The farm was bucolic, and the views from this home are gorgeous. The host communicated nicely throughout our stay. Great stay!!!

We were in for a friend's wedding and this place was a perfect place to stay. The property is beautiful and just a short drive to Shenandoah National Park were we did some awesome hikes. The house had everything we needed. Rooms were nice and big, bathrooms were very nice, and great kitchen. Had breakfast each morning in the dining room with a large window looking out over the beautiful scenery! Found some nice restaurants nearby as well. Highly recommend this place!!!

Wonderful mountain views at and comfortable home

We enjoyed a family gathering for 2 nights. Everyone enjoyed the front porch, large dining table, cozy beds, and the walk down the long driveway with beautiful mountain views. We hope to be able to stay again!

Perfect home base for exploring Shenandoah National Park

Really enjoyed staying here with friends to hike in Shenandoah and hunker down for NFL playoffs at night. This farm house has character, comfort, amenities, and is located in a beautiful environment. I look forward to coming back.

Adorable farmhouse stay

The location and views of this farmhouse were incredible. We stayed here for a wedding at early mountain vineyard which was a short 15 minute ride down the road. Everything was as listed and had everything we needed for our short weekend. The owners also left a dozen eggs from their farm in the fridge for our arrival which was a thoughtful touch.

Fantastic!

This property is adorable, cozy, and comfortable. We stayed for the weekend to celebrate a friend's wedding at Lydia Mountain Lodge, which was a quick 15 min trip. Judy was very accommodating and easy to communicate with, and we really enjoyed our stay. I would 100% recommend this property to others and I hope to be able to visit again in the future!

This was a girls trip with my family. This farm was not only picturesque, but the farm house was fabulous. It is centrally located and easy to find on the map. We went to several places but enjoyed the front porch the most! Thank you Miss Judy for your hospitality. We had a fantastic time!

Charming, cozy and peaceful.

We loved staying here while in town with family for a wedding. The home was set on a beautiful farm with lovely landscaping and views. We enjoyed the big dining room which featured a huge window overlooking the property. We appreciated the comfortable, clean linens on the beds well as ample, fresh towels. There was plenty of space to spread out an hang with our family. It is an old home which has its quirkiness but also lots of charm. Thanks for the hospitality. We may be back when we return to Virginia.

Serenity in the Country!

This is a wonderful property. It was beautiful and Judy, the host, was very accommodating. I initially asked if we could check in early, but then we ended up arriving VERY late. We stayed at the property for my husband's reunion and it suited our purposes beautifully. We ended up inviting some of his classmates for dinner and the home was perfect for grilling up the delicious Black Angus steaks that were raised on the property. The only way our visit could have been better was if we were able to stay longer--we were there for only two nights. It was a peaceful and serene place. We definitely hope to return! Thanks to Judy for a wonderful stay!

Peaceful and Serene

5 stars across the board. Judy's property was the perfect home for our girls getaway. Located near the popular Shenandoah National Park and dozens of hiking trails we couldn't have picked a better spot. Judy is a kind and gracious host. And after a long day of travelling, the wine and cheese and homemade banana bread Judy left for us was a welcome sight. The beds and linens are incredibly comfortable. Probably the best sleep I've had in a very long time. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of cookware and LOTS of coffee options. This is a stand out property because of its tranquility and serene backdrop. If you are looking for true relaxation and peaceful surroundings look no further. Judy's property has it all. Can't wait to go back.

What a gem. We stayed here to attend a wedding at Barn at Edgewood. It was an easy commute there and back several times a day. Two families of 4 fit comfortably with plenty of room. Farm house is clean and adorable, views and grounds are post card worthy. Our host Oliver the puppy came to visit several times and our teens were in love with him. We will be back to refill our soul here again.

Awesome Girls Trip!

This is an AMAZING property! The house is beautiful and very well stocked! The beds were so comfortable and we all raved about them! Getting up in the morning, we enjoyed having coffee on the porch and listing to the cows speak to each other. This is a very special piece of property and to have all of the bedrooms and bathrooms were amazing! We had such a wonderful time and look forward to staying again in the future!!
