"Pelican Watch is undergoing extensive renovation this year, and construction crews are on site Mon-Fri, 7:30AM-5PM. During these times, noise, debris, dirt, and dust will likely be experienced. Unfortunately, the outdoor pool will be closed due to safety concerns, and direct access to the beach may be limited at times. The indoor pool will remain open, and the beach can still be accessed via the town parking lot next to the building."

Construction starts when the boots start walking over the floor above you which is far earlier than 730. And you can never quite have any peace with drilling, pounding and sawing the entire rest of the day. Right over your head. Not a good vacation.

We do clearly disclose the ongoing construction project in our VRBO listing (in the Important Information and House Rules sections) as well as in the welcome letter sent before arrival. That said, we completely understand your frustration with the early start times and the level of disruption. We wish you had contacted us while you were here — had we known the day it happened, we could have immediately reached out to our HOA and the construction company to address the noise schedule and try to resolve it for you. Unfortunately, this is the first we’re hearing about the specific timing issues you experienced. We always want our guests to have a peaceful, enjoyable stay and will use this feedback to follow up more proactively with the construction team and HOA regarding start times and noise mitigation. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again under quieter conditions in the future.

The room was clean, beautifully updated, and very comfortable. The host was friendly, responsive, and quick to answer both my phone call and messages. I would absolutely stay here again if there wasn't any construction taking place. My only suggestion would be to make the construction disclosure more prominent on the VRBO listing—perhaps even including it in the property title. I didn't notice the disclosure when I booked, and by the time I received the welcome letter, we were already heading east on a 2,000 mile road trip, so canceling really wasn't a practical option. We were also traveling with an adult who uses a wheelchair, and one of the highlights of the trip was using the balcony since he can't get down to the beach. Had we been aware of the construction before hand, we likely would've booked another location.That said, this is just my opinion about how the construction information is presented. Aside from that, the room itself was wonderful and the host was great.

Tiffany was an exceptional guest, and I would gladly welcome her back! Regarding the construction notice, it is the first item mentioned in the “About This Property” section and is also included in the welcome letter. I have made every effort to be clear and transparent so guests can make informed decisions before their stay. I’m sorry if Tiffany felt the notice was not prominent enough, and I sincerely hope she will consider staying with me again in the future.

Pleasant week long stay

This was a very easy vacation. Booking was easy. Communication with the owner was excellent and very informative. Location is great. Unit was clean and had almost everything you could ask for as far as furnishings and appliances. Awesome views and just an all around enjoyable stau

Great Carolina Beach property

We loved the condo. It was well furnished and comfortable. Great views and easy access to the beach and pool. Kitchen was well stocked. The owner was quick to respond to questions. We would definitely recommend Top of the Watch.

Great rental

Great unit with nice decor and amazing view. It's roomy and having 2 bathrooms was a huge plus. We enjoyed the beach and outdoor & indoor pools. Having BBQ grills onsite is an added bonus. Owner provided instructions prior to our arrival for checking in and out so everything went smoothly.

Family Vacation

We had a fantastic stay. Paul was very easy to work with throughout the whole process. The condo is very nice and roomy. The kitchen is well equipped with necessary items for eating in. There are many food options close by as well. The condo is on the beach, the view from the balcony is amazing!

Little Piece of Heaven

Lovely decor, well appointed. Super convenient to beach. Best part: The pelicans fly at about the 10th floor elevation. You get to see them up close and in formation all the time.
