Spacious 3 bedroom, 3 full bath home on the 8th Green! Sleeps 8-10

Beautiful home conveniently located within walking distance to the BHI Club, West Beach and Harbour Village overlooking the 8th green. A quick ride on the tram and you’ll be ready to relax and take in the incredible views of the golf course and lagoon. The kitchen, dining and living space are open and perfect for large gatherings. The office, located at the front of the home, is perfect for quiet time with a book or a space for children to play. For some fresh air, sit back in one of the rocking chairs on the large screened porch or dine outside while watching the golfers play.

Our home has plenty of space for two families. Two master bedrooms with king size beds and their own bathrooms. The upstairs master bedroom has a private balcony which overlooks the golf course and a separate loft area (perfect place for a pack ‘n play). The loft has its own balcony and a twin daybed. The downstairs master opens to the screened porch. A third bedroom has two sets of twin bunkbeds and is steps away from a third full bath. The office has a sleeper sofa that folds out into a queen size bed and has its own balcony.

The living room and the office have flat screen tvs with premium channel package, including HBO and sports channels. WiFi, DVD Player, games and books. The kitchen is well-equipped with a Keurig coffee maker, regular coffee maker, microwave, toaster, plenty of pots and pans and more!

Temporary BHI Club membership is available at additional cost and may be arranged by contacting the BHI Club directly.

Additional amenities include 2 golf carts (4 passenger cart and 6 passenger cart), 6 beach chairs, beach toys, highchair, pack ‘n play, charcoal grill, 2 adult-sized beach cruiser bikes and an outdoor shower.

Pets considered.

$500 security deposit required.

Book trams early as they fill up quickly during peak season.

Sleeps 8-10

Saturday to Saturday preferred during peak season.

Fireplace is not operational.

We appreciate the opinions of our guests! We purchased this wonderful home 3 years ago and installed a new deck in 2019, a new roof in 2020 and a complete exterior color change in May 2022! We are excited to move our efforts inside with a complete master bathroom renovation in the fall of 2022! We love this home as is, as 99% of our guests have noted, but it will be even better!!

We love BHI

Really great space. I love the way the bedrooms are divided up providing quiet for everyone. The kitchen had at least one of anything we were looking for. Very homey and kid friendly. Great choice for a home away from home

Great for Families

We stayed for a week with two small kids under 4 and four adults. The property was great. The homeowner was super communicative and responsive to our questions. Not sure if the photos have been updated yet, but the couches and the master bathroom are new. Would definitely stay here again.

Great home and perfect location for small kids

The house was even better than the pictures and offered everything we needed. The quiet street of Spikerush is perfect for young kids to play as there is hardly any traffic. Nicole was terrific to work with and helped us address any questions/needs that came up. Would definitely stay here again.

Good Not Great

We arrived to find the street flooded. Had to drive thru a couple inches of water to reach the home. Mosquitoes were horrible. Could not step outside or take dog for walk without being SWARMED! Owner made checkout difficult with a long list of To-Do's.

All other renters who have stayed in our home have given us five star reviews on VRBO. Our renters have loved our home, and you can see their posted reviews. Unfortunately, Hurricane Dorian impacted Bald Head Island one week prior to this renter’s arrival. The renter was made aware that the street had some flooding, but the Village of Bald Head Island deemed the Island to be safe for travel at the time of the renter’s arrival for his golf tournament. Our check-out procedures are consistent with most other homes on the Island. This renter failed to return our golf cart at the check-out time, and BHI Public Safety had to locate the golf cart and then escort the renter, along with our golf cart, back to our house almost 6 hours after the check-out time. The checkout list is provided to all renters by email prior to arrival, and no other renter has had any issues checking out. We have had a wonderful experience renting our house this first year, and have enjoyed working with our renters to make sure they have a wonderful stay!

Needs attention

Unfortunately, property was covered in dead bugs upon arrival - cleaners had not shown up to clean post bug spraying confirmed by owner. Nice location, spacious home with nice screened in porch. Comfortable mattresses. Nice bikes (only 2adult), nice corn hole boards, some beach chairs there but really rusted and most won't chage position, lots of books. TV in main area has a VERY minimal cable package so we used our computer to access everything - we brought an hdmi cable with us. Furnishings very old - sofa horrible, tile flooring with horrible cracking, carpets stained. House needs some additional attention. Many fixable issues (in addition to being clean) would have made our stay more enjoyable like working lights on porch, clean oven, shower doors that would open and close without a battle, a front door with an appropriately functioning door knob, working cover for golf cart for bad weather. Most importantly, air quality poor as we found black mold in vents and my husband ill the entire 2 week stay, the rest of us battled coughing and throat irritation. We didn't find the mold until the last day of our stay. We sent pictures to owner via vrbo site. Owner's response was an inspection last year said house did not have black mold. Hopefully you can look at pictures to see for yourself.

We always appreciate and respond to our guest's concerns -that's why we want to assure future guests that our house does not have any black mold (in fact, VRBO has our mold analysis/certification on file). We would not stay in our Island home with our three young children if there were mold! For any future renter, we are happy to share our mold certification. It saddens us that our guest did not enjoy our home, unlike our other guests as noted in their 5-star reviews. We made attempts to address our guest's concerns, but despite our best efforts and usual attentiveness (in phone calls, dozens of emails and text messages), it hurts that we could not make our guest happy. For future renters, we will post pictures of our upstairs master bath renovation, our new sofas (which were delivered on Friday, June 9, 2023!) and our summer refresh of our sun decks! We love our home, and we know you will, too!

Poor maintenance

We stayed at this property two years ago and had such a great experience that we decided to return this year. While the location and views of the golf course remain fantastic, along with the proximity to the Marina and beaches, unfortunately, the poor maintenance of the house really diminished our enjoyment this time around. Starting with the kitchen, the cookware was in terrible condition—burnt, deeply scratched, and frankly unusable. For a house of this capacity, there was a strangely overwhelming amount of cups, but a severe lack of utensils—especially spoons and tablespoons. The upstairs suite has a newly renovated bathroom and an adjacent room, which seemed promising, but the sliding doors to it were broken. One side was stuck in the wall, making it impossible to close properly. This was a huge issue for us since it made it difficult to accommodate our teenager who needed privacy. While we enjoyed the BHI Club membership, for additional fee which provided access to the swimming pool and ping pong, the 6-seater golf cart was a disaster. The gear switch was broken on the first day, and the cart could only go in reverse. It was "repaired" 24 hours later, but it still didn’t hold a charge properly. I contacted the owner regarding the door, pots, and golf cart. She promised door maintenance but none showed up and initially said the pots were fine the day before, but I sent pictures showing the poor condition. Lovely Home!

This is a lovely home that is in transition. Owners are working on upgrading the house (plans to update the master bath Fall of 2022!). The location is great, right on the 8th hole at BHI! Screened porch is the BOMB, we spent a ton of time there. Bedrooms comfortable, living room comfy, great TV and internet. No complaints. Nicole was a great owner who responded to any outreach quickly. We had a great week here and, as always, enjoyed our BHI vacation!! (As an aside, we highly recommend Jailhouse Provisions for lunch or dinner. It was great!)

Great place and its location

Fantastic location, cul-de-sac, road parallel to the main road therefore safe for kids to bike around without traffic near-by. Beautiful views, golf course with a pond on the east side (with baby aligator in it) and magical sunsets on the west side. Walking distance to the marina, Old Baldy and the beach access #9 for sunsets and for a great fishing. Walking path nearby for dog walking. Safe quiet and private area. The house very spacious and well taken care of. Easily fits three families. The kitchen window opens all the way to the side to form a buffet style counter for well sealed with mesh against the bugs, large patio. Fantastic hammock on the patio to sleep, or chill while admiring sunrises or aligator view on the golf course. Additional balconies upstairs on east and west side of the house. The house has two golf carts, four- and six- seater. Both very efficient although the six-seater is faster. The bicycles on the ground floor in the cart garage are in excellent condition and for every age. We biked a lot every day. The downside was that the ice maker machine did not work but the freezer produced enough ice for our needs. The boogie surf boards, one was lost in the ocean another broken. Since we lost we left bigger surf board with fins as a replacement. The other mishap was the mold in the shower in upstairs bathroom. We focused on two downstairs bathrooms but the bathroom view up there was not very appealing. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. The house is equipped with everything you need to start your vacation (maybe with exception of dish soap for hand wash, sorry we used it up). The tea, coffee, spices and basic pantry contents are there. All the kitchen tools and plenty of silverware. Many reading and gaming choices for all ages. We will be back definitely next time. This place is superior to many others on the island. Please take care of it as if it's yours. Thank you our wonderful host for a fantastic vacation!

Wonderful location and attentive homeowner

My family of 4 and older parents thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 6 Spikerush. The large screened-in deck with table and rocking chairs, overlooking the golf course, was the highlight. Nicole was an excellent homeowner, answering questions and solving any problems that arose. The 4 person and 6 person golf cart were a plus. Our boys loved the bunk bed room. My older parents had a nice stay on the first floor master. I would agree with previous attendants that the house needs a remodeling update. However, that did not affect our trip and would consider staying at this property in the future!

Great Customer Service

Nicole was amazing to work with. The fridge broke during our stay and she went above and beyond to fix it. When it couldn't get it fixed, she bought a brand new fridge and had it installed that evening. It truly saved our vacation! We wish all property owners were as responsive as her and she truly cared about our trip and wanting to make it the best she could. Thank you Nicole!

Great house and location

We had such a great time on Bald Head Island. The house couldn't have been nicer or in a better location. Overlooking the golf course for peaceful morning coffee and short distance to the beach. The golf cart came in so handy for everything. Can't wait until our next trip.

Great time at BHI

The photos don’t really do the property justice! We really enjoyed the layout with 2 master suites and having the office to get some work done was a nice bonus! The screened in porch was fantastic and an amazing view! The owner was great to work with and very responsive, highly recommend for 2 couples or 2 families! The home was really well-stocked with kitchen supplies, beach towels, and other supplies. The golf carts were some of the nicest we’ve had from other rentals on the island. We will definitely be renting this home again!

Convenient to marina, restaurants, Old Baldy, ocean access and creek access but best was large rear porch with panoramic view (length of the elevated tee to nearby green) of golf course behind.

Wonderful Home

This home was perfect for our stay. It was so well equipped and organized. Everything was very clean. We loved the back porch and the hammock and looking for the alligator in the pond across the golf course. The carts were in excellent condition. We just loved it!

Making memories!

What an amazing house! Just perfect for our family(with a 1 year old and 3 year old). The house is just a few minutes from the most beautiful sunsets on the beach. It is relatively close to the marina and market as well. Nicole was super helpful and prompt regarding all of my questions! We plan on making this an annual trip!
