Very Nice and central apartment in the heart of Florence. Few steps from the famous Ponte Vecchio on the Arno river and all the main monuments of the city, like Pitti Palace and Uffizi Gallery.
The airconditioned house is located on the 2nd floor (50 stairs) of a 5-storey building. A spacious bedroom with bathroom, a small and charming kitchen overlooking a bright living area, where there is a comfortable sofa bed. Ideal for a couple or for a family with one or two children. CIR 048017LTN0474. Check-in is from 3 pm to 6 pm.
City tax to be paid at check in: it amounts to 6 euros per night per person (up to 7 nights)

Ye who are weak at heart, and legs to go with it, think before you choose! There are not only many stairs to climb but the walk up the hill is pretty tiring, too. ;-)Now, with that being said, just know Galileo used to live just a few more apartments up the hill. So if it was good for him, it was certainly good for us, too!! The apartment is pretty central to everything and you can eat all you want because you’ll work it off walking back. LOLEverything I just stated is meant in good spirit as you simply need to know you are staying as the people stay. It is not the typical American hotel so please don’t think it is. Enjoy your stay and learn to love the area. So much history!

Nice place in a great location, and the owner helped out when the wifi router went down. I would give a much stronger review if they updated/refreshed their pillows (basically lumpy concrete), mattress (has clearly never been rotated), and electronics (surge protectirs are several decades old, hence issues with the wifi going out).

Incredible place to unwind and decompress before heading back to the states, especially after spending 4 months with 12 students in a cramped apartment.

Great apartment in local area

My husband and I were overwhelmed with the lovely home & location of the apartment. The host was welcoming, and everything was clean. Walking distance to all the major sights in Florence. Would absolutely go back!

Very Nice Apartment in a Great Location

Located very close to Ponte Vecchio, several restaurants, and the historic district. We walked everywhere and really explored Florence! The apartment was clean and comfortable, and the neighborhood is a very quiet area. Our host was friendly and informative, and we had everything we needed.

Florence was fabulous!! We loved all the history, beauty and charm. It didn’t disappoint!

We loved our apt. It was spacious enough for two and offered all the amenities we needed. Vanni, our host was very helpful, pleasant and gracious. We would book this apt. again.

We stayed at the property for 3 nights and it was perfect for what we were looking for; close enough to sights but far enough away to not be right in the city center. Vanni was super easy to communicate with via WhatsApp. If you can’t do stairs then this apartment is not for you. The apartment is up a small hill and about 45 steps between 2 narrow stair cases. With heavy luggage it’s a challenge but if your up to it then this apartment is in a perfect location!

Great stay

Very close to ponte vecchio, yet in a very quiet area. Walking distance to SMN train station, main sites in centro storico, lots of restaurants, etc. Vanni was easy to communicate with, accommodating and quick to respond. Property as described. Washing machine was a big plus for us. Highly recommend.

First- the location is great. As others have said, it is up a little hill and there are definitely stairs. Once your luggage is up, it’s not bad. Most of Italy is a lot of stairs so you get used to it. The unit itself is nice and clean. My only complaint would be the bed/ pillow situation. We weren’t expecting anything luxurious but the mattress us very thin and one of the pillows was so clumpy as if it was thrown in the washer and all the stuffing balled up. If the mattress were updated, it would’ve been 5 stars! Thanks Vanni!

Within walking distance to many sights

The room was nice, clean and our host Vanni was quite accommodating, as we arrived earlier than check-in. The 4-star is for the steep hill you walk up from the river and the significant steep interior steps to the room. Carrying lugguge up the steps was a challenge for two 60+ year old ladies - we still had a fabulous time.

Clean, cozy apt with great location

We stayed here for 8 days and enjoyed every minute. If you're looking for a place in Florence close to all of the main sights, look no further and book the Gemma apt! Vanni was responsive and very helpful, even when he wasn't available to meet us in person at the apt for check-in we had no problem getting in and out. All of the key sights of Florence are within walking distance. As other reviews note -- the apt is on a steep hill with several flights of steep stairs leading up to it. It takes some effort to climb home every day so perhaps not ideal for guests with more limited mobility.

A perfect location at the heart of Florence

The appartement is located south of the Arno river really close to Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Galleries. It's a rather quiet street although it takes only five minutes to walk to the historic centre or the Boboli Gardens. The flat is clean and not to big but two persons got enough space - and our host Vanni was very communicative and reliable. We would always recommend Gemma as a perfect stay for an urban vacation - Lutz and Susanne

Great little apartment

Our overall experience was great. The apartment was clean and had all the facilities for our longer stay. The apartment location is perfect for all central Florence offers. There is a reasonable climb up the road to the apartment steps. We did not find this an inconvenience but others may need to take this into consideration. We loved out stay.

Great apartment, great location

Vanni was a great, communicative host. Check in was easy. We loved the location - walking distance to everything, and on a quieter part of the city. Having the washing machine was a lovely perk as we had already done some travelling in other cities. About 20 minute walk to the Accademia Gallery, Piazzele Michaelangelo, just a few minute walk to Ponte Vecchio. A great grocery store and gelatos shop just down the street. Thank you Vanni!
