Green Door Lofts-Stained Glass Loft

Green Door Lofts, featured on Fixer Upper "Urban Loft Challenge" and referred to as "Funky Town" by Chip, is a 9-unit luxury loft complex in the heart of Waco's bustling Silo District. We are next door to the historic Hippodrome Dinner Theater and steps away from eclectic shops, antique stores, wine tasting rooms, and live music. Magnolia Market is an easy walk away, or take the free trolley that stops outside. Each loft is crafted with a unique flair and offers a distinct experience.

The Stained Glass Loft is the crown jewel of the Green Door Lofts. This 4 bedroom, 3,000 square foot, tri-level loft is nothing less than a stunning masterpiece, boasting over 20 stained glass panels. As you walk into the massive library/living room, you see a second magical door, a replica of the Green Door, finished in natural wood stain and adorned with stunning stained glass panels of a purple Iris. This door leads to a private porch, with a curbside view of lovely Austin Avenue. This loft is simply stunning in every detail. Three seating areas, large dining room table seats 8. Full gourmet kitchen with high end fixtures, 16 foot ceilings, 650 thread count pressed linens, and of course prime Austin Avenue location. If this unit is too large for your needs, I do have very nice 1 and 2 bedroom units in my building that are equally impressive.

The building's courtyard has a seasonally HEATED pool with lounge chairs and tables. The mezzanine deck overlooks the avenue below - perfect for people watching! Free secure garage parking is provided to our guests at The Green Door Lofts.

A unique code for keyless entry makes check-in and check-out flexible and convenient. The owner lives on-site and can be reached by cell phone any time. We're happy to provide suggestions for local eateries and activities, in addition to the loft's information guide.

The Green Door Lofts gets its name from the famous green door that welcomes residents into the courtyard. The green door is also referred to locally as the Hobbit Door. Immediately next door to the Hippodrome theater, the door serves as a backdrop for visitors on the street stopping and posing for selfies. Countless brides have ventured to the door for their bridal portraits. We love it!! This 9 unit complex is located on a trendy street that links the historic old homes of Waco with the parks along the Brazos River. Next door is the iconic Waco Hippodrome, where you can grab dinner and an adult beverage while watching a play, concert, or show. Waco’s free trolley stops in front of the loft before continuing to the Silos and other downtown shops.

A few blocks away is Cameron Park, a 416-acre stretch of land with hike and bike trails and the Waco Zoo. We are also located within five minutes of Baylor's McLane Stadium. On game days, Baylor’s free shuttle that runs between downtown and the stadium is only a couple blocks away.

Downtown Waco has plenty of free street parking and Ubers are readily available. We have a secured garage on the first floor for our guests. The loft is walking distance to shops and restaurants. We are directly on the free trolley route for shopping around the Silos.

The Stained Glass Loft is on the first floor, and guests must be able to descend 4 steps with a sturdy handrail to descend to the master suite. The additional sleeping areas are reached by a spiral staircase to the loft level.
