Chalet style summer cottage nestled on Hoyt Island, Great Pond. Loft sleeps four comfortably with an additional two bedrooms downstairs, a queen and two twins. Open concept with a full bathroom and kitchen. No outhouse here! Large deck and screened porch for entertaining and large fire pit close to the water. Charcoal grill and flat top available for use. There is a boat mooring and a large dock with a stairs. Lobster pots are on premise for use. A spectacular spot to summer vacation in Maine! A BOAT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS RENTAL!

Magical Place

The property is beautiful. We had a couple rainy days and were grateful for the selection of dvds and games. This vacation was much needed and we couldnt have found a better spot to disconnect and heal.

Secluded Gem on Hoyt's Island

Rent a boat and escape the mainland on Hoyt's Island! A perfect get-a-way island camp on Great Pond with a well maintained dock and newly built cabin. All the systems in the house worked as advertised from the generator to the propane refrigerator. We swam, fished, cooked and napped ... what could be better?

Beautiful, comfortable camp with peace and quiet and a great lake to play on!

Had a fabulous time at this camp. Very clean, comfortable and fun! Generator brings all the comforts of home and when it's off, the quiet takes over and the nerves unfrazzle quickly!! Lake is big, clean and fun to explore. Was hunting for pike but settled for a bunch of Larries instead...great time! Tracey was very responsive and helpful...we highly recommend this camp for a great vacation...we will be back next year!

Awesome trip!

This was our second year at this fabulous camp on Great Pond! We had a great time, the weather was almost perfect, the fishing was great and the kayak trip around the island was a lot of fun! Great camp, very comfortable and clean...lots of wildlife around including a little minke that seemed curious about our presence! Tracey was very responsive as usual which made this a very smooth experience. We will be back for round 3 for sure! Thank you!

Secluded and serene

We had what will be an all time favorite vacation at this gem of a camp. It is secluded, tastefully classic, clean and the owner was wonderful. My daughters and I woke at sunrise many mornings drawn to sit on the dock by the beautiful and unusual sounds of the loons. Small boats would quietly drift by with someone casting their fishing rod and weā€™d have a nod at the shared peace and quiet. There were warm sunny days of picturesque lake life when my girls played on the floating dock all day and barely came inside and there were a few rainy days when we enjoyed playing board games or choosing a movie to watch snuggled in the comforts of the cabin. Having a boat brought the adventure as it was so much fun having this as our vehicle and we enjoyed cruising the lake and a couple times ordered pizza from Days store to bring back to the boat to drop the anchor and watch the evening begin to fade. This camp and its owners really gave us everything we needed for a true peaceful lake vacation experience and lifelong memories together. We look forward to returning!

Fantastic vacation experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the camp. Communication with Tracey from the beginning was friendly, prompt and clear. I felt well prepared when we arrived and the cottage was easy to find. The week was a nice balance of adventure and relaxation. Daily trips to Days Store, swimming off the dock and boat, nightly campfires and beautiful sunsets all made for many family memories. My 90-year-old grandmother just loved sitting by the water for hours. For anyone concerned about being on an island with limited utilities, have no fear! The cottage was very clean and well stocked with everything you need. You are also just a short boat trip away from Days Store for anything you could possibilly want during your stay. I enjoyed my coffee and breakfast sandwich every morning from the store just to enjoy the scenic beauty on the water. If you stayed at any other property on the pond you would want a boat anyway, so the island adds a nice break from the mainland. I should also mention that the quiet and fuel efficient generator bring all the comforts of home at the turn of a key. Finally, I would offer my recommendation for Great Pond Marina. Bob was extremely helpful in coordinating use of a dock slip during our stay. He even took time to explain the pond and local activities in detail. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

Great time on Hoyt Island!

I stayed with my wife, daughter (13), and son (10) for a week in mid-August and we had a really great time. The lake is beautiful and staying on the island was very special. The house is new, nice and comfortable. It runs on a generator, be sure you understand how to operate it. We had a lot of fun swimming, kayaking, tubing, taking the boat into town for supplies, playing board games, reading, huddling around the camp fire, etc. Hope to go back next summer!

Best vacation ever!

Great place to get away from it all! We loved our experience on the island! The water on Great Pond was so clear it was amazing! The camp is very clean and was perfect for our family. Sadies resturant and Days store is nearby and fun to access by boat. We plan to return every summer.

Unbelievable experience

This is THE iconic location for a traditional Maine Island getaway. Calm solitude and plenty of activities to do on or near the water. The 'camp' is really a house and the nuances that come with an island without electricity (don't worry theres a generator if you need juice) were a treat for us and the kids. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in re charging their batteries.
