Proud 3 story Traditional home located at the edge of town is rich in detail and history of the island. Beautiful renovations make this home just right for the whole gang. Just a few steps and walk to shopping and waterfront downtown plaza. Spacious rooms and large dining area leads out to back deck and outside shower. Garage available with Beach Chairs, Umbrellas, and Boogie Boards, Charcoal Grill. This house provides linens and towels.

LINENS AND TOWELS PROVIDED

Cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival will receive 100% of refund of all monies minus $ 39 Processing Fee and Any Credit Card Convenience Fees Paid.  If less then 30 days: the advanced rent is only refundable subject to the following: The property is re-rented for the same period. Re-rental of less than a full week will be refunded on a pro-rated basis. The Agent will retain a $39.00 processing charge, and any convenience fees charged. *Deposits are not refunded for ANY reason (including bad weather).

Our stay at The Laughing Pony

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We truly enjoyed staying at The Laughing Pony. This is our second stay at this home. We had 6 teenagers ages 13-16. Boys and girls. This property has plenty of room for everyone to have their own bed and separate spaces for girls and boys and Mom and Grandmom. We enjoyed the back patio. So much room and trees gave it plenty of privacy. The location of this home allows you to park your car and walk to many shops and ice cream and food places. Easy walk to view the Fireworks and to have dinner at Bill's. Also easy walk to grocery store. We totally recommend this home for a fun rental. Loved the clean sheets and towels that were available! ♥️

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been to Chincoteague Island 10+ times and have stayed in a number of different homes. This one is an average home with great space, in a great location, good price, and has the things that you’d want to relax in the evening and prepare meals. The main benefit to us, traveling from Utah, was that the home had the sheets, towels, and beach gear! This was a great benefit and made our vacation so much easier since we didn’t have to purchase this stuff. We would stay here again.

Nice, but lacking a few things

Location was great. House was roomy. No paper towels, no trash bags, no hand soap, 2 pillows total on a king size bed. Could use more pillows and better amenities. Also darker curtains or shades the front bedroom was lit up all night from the street lights.

Thank you Harbour rentals!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Harbour rentals was very accommodating to our needs! Our original property did not work out, They moved us to laughing pony which was a wonderful transition! Laughing pony is a big, older but renovated home. I really loved this house! The only changes I would make would be an extra tv upstairs, blackout curtains in master ( it gets very bright and is very loud due to being on a main road). Also add a table to the back deck so dining can be done outside. Otherwise this is a wonderful home for a larger family with everything you could possibly need!! I would def stay here again!

Don't Waste Your Money

This was a terrible experience. Upon arrival, we immediately noticed the floor seemed dirty. On our second morning in the house, we discovered big problems. It was a rainy day and ants invaded the first floor bathroom via the window. We also discovered one of the windows in the queen bedroom was taped open because the window sash was broken. The glass in one of the windows in the twin bedroom is loose and the window leaks (onto one of the beds, mind you). The "fitted sheet" on the queen bed had no elastic left in it and the bottom sheet came off the bed every night. Shabby, not chic. However, worst of all was when the refrigerator stopped working on our second night. When we woke up, everything in the fridge was warm. We had to toss it all. I called the emergency line. I figured they might have the house rented right after us and didn't want someone to get a bad surprise on day 1. Someone came out quickly, but they told us there was nothing they could do for us on a weekend. We were completely uncompensated for the loss of our food. I have sent multiple emails to Harbour Rentals about the refrigerator and all of the above issues and all of them were ignored. So you all get to read about it here. Don't rent this place as long as it is managed by Harbour Rentals. It could be lovely - but it needs a lot more work than they will put into it. Also, while the location is great, it is LOUD with idling trucks at the gas station and a nearby bar that plays loud music late.

Fun family vacation

Great location. We stayed a week and got to see everything in the area, even a rocket launched from Wallops Island! This house was perfect for our family vacation. We all had plenty of space to chill out and a well stocked kitchen to enjoy cooking and eating family meals together. Outdoor shower was an added bonus for rinsing off sandy feet. We used the charcoal grill and beach chairs. Noticed that lots of kids sand toys were available too. We would highly recommend this location.

Spring Vacation

This property was spacious and comfortable for 8 of us and an overall great base for our Chincoteague adventures. It was within walking distance to restuarants and shops on Main Street. We had a lovely stay and hope to come back again in the future.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was huge and in a great location. Recently updated and very beautiful. One downside upstairs rooms had about 1 light socket and there was 1 in tv in a house with 10 people. I know it is vacation but with children and no yard and a deck with really no seating they wanted tv. The AC on the third floor i guess broke before we came and rental company said they contacted HVAC. they never told us the one in the master bedroom did not work either. When we dropped off keys HVAC guy was waiting to go to our house. In my mind I thought he would come to fix it when we wee there. It would have been nice to know that the last week in July half of the bedrooms in the house the AC didnt work.I do not blame this on the home owners at all. We have rented a few spots and this one was mazing. From the amount of stuff in the home games books silverware cooking stuff ect. The property owners really want you to enjoy your stay on the island. They had a book when you come to let you know the history of the property good places to eat and fun things to do and I thought that was a nice touch. Overall I would stay here again in hopes that the AC worked and bringing some portable chargers ect.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have rented from Harbour Rentals many times. The staff goes above and beyond to help you when there is an issue. We had to change rentals last minute due to the COVID-19 and this house was the second option. I am so glad we were able to get this rental. It is very spacious house. There were plenty of room for us and also more beds than we needed. I love the close to downtown area. I will definitely be adding this rental to my “rental house I love” list! The only thing I would have to say is the bushes on the side of the parking areas need trimmed but not a big deal.

Beautiful Home in Peaceful Chincoteague

Our family of seven enjoyed the many bedrooms and large family spaces. The house has character with many antique touches but it is nicely updated where it needs to be. We greatly appreciated the family touches. The kitchen was well stocked and we appreciated the beach items available to borrow. The house’s location can be loud, with trucks rumbling down the small road. But it is easy to walk to shops and restaurants, plus the lovely farmers market is a few lots down. The wildlife refuge, and national seashore with their visitor centers were an easy drive. The NASA flight Center was also close and had a great presentation when we went. Chincoteague Island was a fantastic family vacation.

House was even better equipped than the write up indicated. Lots of towels, beach toys, inside games and toys for kids. A great place to stay. We'll definitely be trying to book again.

The kids locked all the keys inside the house and Harbor responded in minutes to resolve the issue.
