This accommodation is a perfect getaway for two, offering evening sunsets and stunning views of the Pamlico Sound from your screened porch or while sitting on the beach in front of your cottage. Located upstairs, it is attractively furnished with a king bed and features amenities such as a DVD player, Direct TV, a stereo, wireless internet access, a phone, and a full kitchen. An outside gas grill is also available for your convenience, and all linens are provided. Guests have access to the sound-side beach, making it an idyllic spot for relaxation.

Really enjoyed the layout and water view! Clean and bed was good! Only giving a 4 because there was only 1 plate, a few pieces of silverware, etc. there was coffee, but no cream or sugars. I would recommend staying here, but bring everything if you plan to cook at all.

Ocracoke did not disappoint! Beautiful place!!Treasure Chest was perfect for us. The view on the porch was so relaxing. The king bed was very comfortable.

2nd time at Treasure Chest

We have visited Ocracoke 4 times in the last several years. After staying at a couple of other VRBOs on the island, we love Treasure Chest the best. The location is on the sound side of the island, with beautiful marsh views and sunsets. The cottage has all rhe bells and whistles for a wonderful stay. But dont tell anyone about the the magic of Ocracoke; lets just keep it our secretVRBOVRBOs

Relaxing getaway

This was our third time staying in the Treasure Chest. It’s located in a very quiet area of Ocracoke but within walking distance of the village and only a short drive to beautiful beaches. The Harbor Inn office provided excellent service!

What a wonderful little getaway!

Right on the tip end of Springer’s Point Nature Preserve, and a stone’s throw from the inlet, this is the perfect getaway for two. Big, comfy bed, nice bathroom, right-sized living room with dining table and kitchen, peace and quiet; it’s all you need. And the screen porch overlooking the marsh and open water is just amazing. We did a lot of our own cooking in the kitchen. The management does a fantastic job of cleaning out stuff left behind, so don’t expect to find the usual four jars of paprika and thirty-leven other spices - bring your own stuff. The Ocracoke Variety Store (grocery store, singular) is surprisingly well-stocked, but you can’t count on it having everything you want, so think about what you like to have on hand when you cook, and bring it with you. Plan ahead - you can’t expect to run out and grab everything you need. Otherwise, you’ll be set. And this side of the village is a walker’s paradise! I shouldn’t recommend Treasure Chest so highly, as it will probably make it harder to reserve, but for a lovely and peaceful getaway, you can’t go wrong.

Ocracoke in April

The home is the right size for two. Very clean and plenty of extras ie. paper products. Easy access to the water. We enjoyed our stay as who knew the winds would make you want to be inside versus outdoors. Highly recommend the rental. We will be back.

Best View!

We loved staying at the Treasure Chest! The house is perfect for a couple. The bed is super comfy. The air conditioning is great (we have stayed at some houses where the air seems to never get cool enough). There is a lot of foot traffic on this road but you don’t notice when you are in the house. Most of our inside time was spent on the porch overlooking the sound. I thought the laundry being at a different location would be an inconvenience but we made the best of it. It takes about an hour and a half to do two loads and we used that time to explore the area around the lake. The people at the Inn were super nice. We will definitely stay at the Treasure Chest again!!

Great location, beautiful sunset views, clean and well stocked.

We LOVED the “Treasure Chest”! It is nestled on the Pamlico Sound with remarkable views off the pack, screened porch. It is convenient to local restaurants, shops, and the lighthouse. We highly recommend this “treasure”’of a place for two! We will definitely return to this new found paradise! ❤️

Love Ocracoke - Love Treasure Chest

Wonderful property for 2! Loved the screened-in porch. We could only stay for a few days but hope to stay longer in the future. We've stayed multiple places in Ocracoke and this was our favorite 1 bedroom accommodation! You cannot go wrong staying here.

Great house with an amazing view.

This house was perfect for my girlfriend and I. This was my first time staying on this side of the island in 30 years and we were able to discover places I had never seen. Springers point nature trail is a short walk away and definitely worth checking out.

It was very clean, great location to walk to most places on the island. The kitchen had plenty of dishes a d cookware. Plenty of supplies to make it through 5 days. The porch was perfect and the view was excellent. If there are people staying in the neighboring properties you can hear them if they are outside. Otherwise very quiet. Check in and check out was very simple. Staff was friendly and helpful. This was perfect for 2 people. Couldn’t have been happier!

Quiet, private retreat with wonderful view of the sound.

A Sweet Spot That Doesn't Get Much Better!

I have stayed at the Ocracoke Harbor Inn and on this property in Margaritaville some years ago. It was so good to be back! I loved this garage apartment. Everything was so clean and comfortable. The screened porch over the marsh with the view of the sound is a great spot to chill. You could hear a pin drop at night and it's very dark in that area which I like. Great stars at night! Ocracoke is a favorite spot of mine and this is my favorite spot on Ocracoke. You can walk down the beach and on to the Springer's Point trail which is a beautiful maritime forest. I rented a kayak on the lake at Ride The Wind and kept it on the grass in front so I could paddle the pristine waters everyday. I love paddling the creeks and to the backside of SouthPoint where the birds are. So many birds! The carry out from Thai Moon, Dajio's and Helio's were excellent. Ocracoke has great food. I wasn't able to do my usual local music, shops, bookstore and massage with Amy Hilton this time but there was still so much to do. I am happy to see that Ocracoke has made a comeback after Hurricane Dorian. There are some very determined and special people who make Ocracoke a one of a kind sweet spot!
