Legal Beech Bum Mountain Legal Retreat

Located in the heart of the magnificent Beech Mountain, this 2 bedroom with loft attracts the active vacationer as well as those seeking a relaxed get-away. The house has beautiful scenic views from the deck in the back of the house. The fireplace and quaint cottage feel provide a wonderful retreat. The amenities to the club (which are available in season) must be transferred to the guest by the owner. The Owner maintains the Sports Membership. For $300.00 for 30 days, first time guests have unlimited use of the clay tennis court, the pickle ball court, the swimming pool, recreation center and fitness center. The Owner must transfer the membership to the guest.
Additionally, guests can play as they go at the 18 hole Willard Byrd golf course, and have use of the club dining room. Our fitness center also has a separate cardio room with all new state of the art equipment (tread mills, spin bikes, stair master, rowing machine, etc. ) All of the equipment in the fitness and cardio center was installed in April, 2024. Yoga and stretch and tone classes are also held week days at the fitness center.
Beech Mountain is located 5500 feet above sea level, and is walking distance to Ski Beech Mountain and 5 minutes from Sugar Mountain. There is fine dining in casual restaurants as well as shopping.
There is an additional guest fee per stay of $50.00 if there are more than 6 guests. There is also a non-refundable $200.00 pet deposit. One one small dog is permitted.
Legal Beech Bum has a nice, new clean look for 2024. The interior was painted and updated. Come relax and enjoy my paradise! The landscape beauty and wildlife surround you during any season of the year. Quite often, there are more deer than people!

We had a great ski trip at this cabin. The location is truly excellent—you can't beat being on the slopes in just 5 minutes. The cabin itself was a nice size for the three of us.A couple of notes for future guests: the kitchen could use a small update, and the bedding was quite basic; the synthetic sheets weren't the most comfortable for a good night's sleep after skiing. It would also be a great addition to have a grill outside for evenings in.But overall, the fantastic location really makes this place. For easy slope access, it's a very good choice.

Our stay at the Legal Beech Bum Mountain cabin was the perfect little getaway for me and my wife. It was clean, cozy, and well furnished. Our favorite part was just sitting on the patio with a cup of coffee and watching the falling leaves.

MLK weekend Ski awesome

We were so blessed have great trip. The parking isn’t great. we left our vehicles at the Beech Mnt ski resort bc you need 4 wheel drive if it snows it did snow a lot. Location was awesome bc we could walk to skiing. If you stay here snap photo lock box number bc your internet won’t work wo wifi.

White Christmas!

This was simply perfect and cozy. We had an amazing stay. The place was beautiful and clean and overall small enough for that cozy feeling but big enough for 3 adults and 3 kids. We saw snow and the trees were all covered and the place was quiet but close to everything we needed. Definitely would rent this place again.

Snowboarding trip

The cabin is small and cozy. Perfect place for a small friend group. The host was super responsive, even before I initially booked. Everything was great, it was just what we needed! Definitely will book again.

Just what we needed

This place was perfect for our first family ski trip. It's a great location just across from Beech Mountain Ski Resort and just up the mountain from Banner Elk. The house is cozy, but had plenty of room for four adults. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen included all we needed for meals. The dishwasher is a bit noisy so we ended up washing dishes by hand. Other than that everything we good. It snowed while we were there and we made a nice fire in the fireplace. We loved watching the birds and deer. We also enjoyed Fred's General Store, Banner Elk Cafe, a pizza place, and a BBQ joint. It was a nice little winter wonderland ahead of Christmas. Thank you for a great home base for our trip!

Beech Mtn Show

This was the perfect spot to see the summer concert series. Easily within walking distance. Communication with the owners was excellent. There is one full bathroom and a half bath. The porch was perfect to watch the deer and relax on. We really enjoyed our stay here and would return.

Great property but the listing stated loft had 2 beds which was not the case. We had a blow up mattress and the loft was tiny.

Nice house!

This is a perfect location and a great place to stay! The house is clean and the deck is a perfect place to sit out and enjoy the summer. We usually stay for the summer concert series and always have a really great time.

College tour and mountain bike race, base of operations.

Our stay was fantastic and the house was perfect! Weather was typical for the high country mountains, afternoon / evening storms but gorgeous during the day and a lot cooler than home. We didn’t spend a lot of time at the house due to our plans but the time there was relaxing and plenty of room for our group to unwind after or days of touring and racing in Banner Elk. Would definitely stay here again.

Easy access to all sites on and off the mountain, but the beauty of being on the mountain. Amenities to the Beech Mountain Club (pool. golf, pickle ball, fitness club) are all available at discounted rates as this owner is a member of the club. There is a $200.00 transfer fee that is paid to the Club to transfer the owner's membership to the guest.
