Thankful Escape is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo located in "Jewel of Jamaica", Ocho Rios. It's the perfect spot for your vacation: a 5-minute walk to the beach, restaurants, shopping, nightlife and a cinema. Thankful Escape is a comfortable, 1400 sq. ft. space for families and groups of friends, surrounded by gardens and views of Ocho Rios Bay. The condo sleeps four, with a king bed in the Master bedroom, and 2 twin beds in the second bedroom.

Our villa is open-concept, with a dining & living room that leads to a breathtaking ocean-view gazebo and air conditioning in every room. The Master Bedroom includes an ensuite full bathroom, its own gazebo balcony with a relaxing view of Ocho Rios Bay, sitting area with HD cable/streaming TV, and full walk-in closet. The full kitchen has everything you need: refrigerator, stove, toaster, microwave, cooking utensils, and dishes. The second bedroom has an ocean view, 2 twin beds, and a full bathroom just outside the bedroom door. The living room has a sofa, love seat, flat-screen smart TV, and private, high-speed WiFi.

IMPORTANT PROPERTY NOTES! PLEASE READ!!
- STAIRS AND HILLS - Accessing Thankful Escape does require walking up and down multiple steps, with no elevator available. Columbus Heights and SkyCastles is on a hillside with beautiful views of Ocho Rios. This hill can be traversed by walking or taxis, which are safe, affordable, and available.

Our villa is suitable for a family getaway, a group friends or a girls getaway.

We can arrange transportation from the airport and to attraction on the island for an additional cost.

If you prefer to eat in we can
arrange for meals to be made at an additional cost.

Want some beach time? You can choose your own beach experience. Just down the hill is the beach next to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, a fun restaurant & bar with a pool, water-slide, games, and a water trampoline.
A longer walk or short taxi-ride away is the Ocho Rios Bay Beach, which is calm, clear and shallow you will be impressed with the cruise ships that dock at the marina, a sight to behold! This beach is where you can book any water activity you could want, like jet skiing, catamaran snorkel tours, party boat trips and more.

A little over priced but ok.

The apartment is in a good place, just needs updated furniture and appliances. The AC went out but was fixed within hours. 🙌

Guest broke the timer on the A/C which was repaired 1 hr after guest contacted us. Guest was not charged for the repair. Guest rented our 2 bedroom two bathrooms apartment in the heart of the city for her son's birthday. Due to her 14 day stay she was given a discount rate of $80 a night. Additional she was allowed some family over to celebrate her son's birthday. We wish guest well and hope she can find future accommodations that meet her needs and high expectations.

Peaceful and Clean

We had a wonderful experience. It’s everything we expected and more. Close to the pool. Great outdoor space. Fully equipped kitchen. Location is within close driving distance to many tourist attractions and the downtown area. Great communication with the owner and the housekeeper from the beginning to the end of our stay. Not much more you can ask for at a home away from home!

The stay was good however, I was traveling with small children and we did not like the steps up and down to get to our villa. If I had of none there would be a large amount of stairs to climb we would have preferred to stay somewhere else. Also, the villa could use some much needed updates and a good cleaning.

The place was nice, a lil dated. It was close to shopping and dining. I didn’t like that the AC units were on timers. I had to wake up in the middle of the night to turn them back on. Some of the windows only have screens so the place didn’t stay cool. The shower was cold , no hot water throughout the apartment. And there was a roach in the silver drawer.

Very Good Rental Experience

We had a very good experience renting the property and working with Ann-Marie and her team. They were immediately accessible and responsive when needed from beginning to end, and made sure we were comfortable. When our flight was delayed, the housekeeper Beverly waited until 8pm for our arrival. The House Manager Richard always made himself available and checked on us regularly. The unit was clean, well decorated and in a great location. My only feedback is I wish we'd known there's a/c only in the bedroom. Even with a ceiling fan, no a/c in the common area can be uncomfortable with the heat, and that's where the TV is. Otherwise, Ann-Marie, her team, and the unit were fantastic!

We'll make a note of the A/C & TV configuration for future guests and consider how we might make guests more comfortable in the future. Loud Thumping Music ALL Day and Night / Filthy Floor

BE AWARE: We left our vacation exhausted from lack of sleep (ear plugs did not help because we could still feel the thumping from the loud music). This condo is right next to a gym that plays thumping loud music ALL day and night. It is also a four minute walk to downtown Ocho Rios so you will hear and feel the loud thumping music from the establishments there ALL day and night as well. I contacted the host immediately and the music level would go down for a bit, but then would resume to the normal level. I asked for a refund for the remainder of our stay so that we could find a place where we could get some sleep and she said that the best she could do was give us a 20% refund. On our last day, I contacted the host to ask when we would receive the 20% refund and she told me that she was unable to give me 20% because of VRBO rules. Not true! Also, the floor was so filthy that we wore our shoes the entire time. In the bathrooms, they supplied one travel size hand soap. Yep- that's it. The positives: It is convenient to be able to walk to town, but NOW I would rather be farther away so that we didn't have the music and thumping all day and night!! There are many tourist attractions that are 15-20 minute drive. It was nice that they supplied beach towels and chairs that we could take to the beach. The host always responded to my emails although she didn't follow through with giving us a 20% refund.

We're sorry that your stay with your friends did not match your expectations, as we always try to enable our guests' to enjoy our home in Ocho Rios as much as we do. We love being only a 10 minute walk from downtown Ocho Rios and a 10 minute drive to most major attractions. Being so close to clubs and restaurants can sometimes be noisier than other places, as we say in our listing. The private, on-site gym tries to be very respectful with their music, and are responsive when we ask them to turn it down. In general, more noise-sensitive guests should probably book at a more remote setting, although we find our villa to be a relaxing base for enjoying Ocho Rios. This guest stayed in our home with three friends and requested a discount prior to booking, which was not granted because we price our two bedroom, two bath villa much less than other similar homes in Ocho Rios, and certainly other hotels. This guest still booked our home and then continued to seek a discount throughout the entirety of her stay, even though her party was paying a minimum price for such a location. We provide guests with a starter pack of hospitality supplies, expecting that guests staying longer will pick up whatever they need for their stay at the store down the street. This choice keeps prices low for guests and allows them to make themselves at home. We will review the condition of our home as cleanliness is a top priority for us at all times. We wish this guest well but would not host this guest and her party again in our home.

Home away from home.

I am a Jamaican, living in The UK and wanted somewhere to stay local to the airport and places we could have family days out. This property definitely fitted all the criteria. When we first viewed the property my husband insisted we booked it instantly as the pictures of the property made it so inviting. And we have no regrets. The communication with the host was 10 out of 10. The property was very clean and had all the amenities you would need if you were home. It had everything we needed to make breakfast, strong WiFi, a pool a few meters away, clean comfy beds and so much. A home away from home. We wanted transportation from the airport and Ann-Marie recommended Richard who is JUTA registered and all I can say is 5* service. His communication with us before arrival was spot on and when he collected us from the airport he was so accommodating. He took us to get our hungry teenagers food and even stopped off at two supermarkets so we could get some breakfast stuff. He is also the caretaker for the property so he could be contacted with any concerns we had. He took us back to the airport and even stopped off with us at KfC to get food for the flight at no extra charge. The housekeeper Miss Beverly who we met twice was very lovely. She made sure we always had clean towels and beddings during our two weeks stay. Very pleasant and helpful lady. I will definitely visit this property again.

1. Great Location! Clean and Neat with WiFi! 2. Walking distance to Magaritaville, good food and music! 3. Be ready to WALK up and down the hill if you’re into adventure but you also have an option to call ride provided by the owners list of Drivers. 4. Owners are easy to contact and very helpful. 5. Bring the OFF for mosquitoes in Jamaica, i made the mistake of forgetting mine. 6. Safe environment 7. Typical tropical housing - so no glass window panes like home in USA. But still comfy. Does have A/C but we were comfy with the ceiling fans only. 8. Very close to Dunns River Falls! 9 1.5 hrs from Montego Bay airport 10. We LOVE IT there!!

My stay started off bad with the checking in process, it seems as if the housekeeper and the security was not expecting me. Then the first night the electricity went away. After all that my stay was excellent. Ann Marie was a good host and she checked on us very regularly. I would recommend this place to anyone. Ann Marie explained to us what happened in the beginning and apologized then things got better.

Had a wonderful stay at this property. Apartment was neat, charming and well decorated. Kitchen was well equipped with more then enough pots/pans/dishes that were needed. The neighborhood was clean, quiet and within a great walking distance to nearby Margaritaville, beach and a ton of shops, stores places to eat and even a movie theater !! The host Ann Marie was not on site but she answered any questions or request we had VERY quickly via text and she had people on site to make sure we had whatever was needed. I cannot say enough great things about this place. I feel we lucked up because the price was more than reasonable for all that we got! The apartment was located on a mountain with plenty of trees so we always had a nice breeze blowing through. We could even see the ocean from our bedroom window. I would DEFINITELY stay here again or recommend this place to anyone.
