This beach front vacation condo rental is located in Destin Florida along the Emerald Coast. Condo rental #614 accommodates up to 6 people with a king in the master bedroom, 2 twins in the guest bedroom, and a sleeper sofa in the living room. Destin's Beach is just steps away with a beautiful view from your private balcony. All units are non-smoking.

This vacation rental has a newly remodeled kitchen to include stainless steel appliances and all the cookware you should need for a weeks getaway! Recently replaced the living room sofa, loveseat, chair, and lamps in the living room to include new area rug and side tables. Enjoy ceiling fans in both bedrooms and the living area. The unit is freshly painted throughout. Both bathroom vanities have been replaced. Both bedrooms feature new plantation shutters.

Perfect escape!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at the Islander many times since 2015 and this was one of the most needed getaways. I lost my husband 4 months ago and so this was a needed getaway to get ahold of my grief and sadness. Of course it is all still there but this condo was perfect and as soon as I walked in the colors and decor set me at ease. Everything was perfect and beautiful. Could not have asked for a more beautiful place to stay and sit on the beach and find peace and pray. Thank you for giving me this experience.

Great Rental

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 614 was very clean, spacious, had plenty of towels for our number staying. There was extra sheet/ blanket/pillows for sofa bed. (That was nice as usually have to ask for that even when mentioned it is available. Also typically do not have enough towels or washcloths for number of your party-I was glad to have them)There is a regular coffee pot which is fine, we just didn’t think to bring coffee filters. Our kids loved being able to borrow sporting equipment to play.

Reviewer Comments: We have always enjoyed our winter stays (since 2010) at The Islander. We come for the warmth (esp. no snow) of the location, the friendly, caring & fun community of other snowbirds, the wonderful staff, the lovely heated pool (& hot tubs), and the accommodations (spacious, gulf-view units.) The lack of 5 stars is mainly due to phones being discontinued in the in the units; this is a safety hazard, especially for snowbirds (mainly seniors) as well as a major inconvenience when trying to organize group activities.

Always some cleaning we do on arrival, but this time Unit was even worse. Floor sticky inside front entry; loveseat quite dirty; food crumbs in master bedroom under mattress cover, in closet, under seating cushions; mattress cover had large unwashed stain. Broken drawer hanging out; rugs needed vacuuming; dishwasher part stuck under lower rotator arm - left dishes not all clean; stove burner rings ill-fitting making burners unstable/unsafe. It is annoying to leave things much cleaner than when we arrive, but still be charged a 150 cleaning fee. On-site staff & maintenance do respond well & quickly to the concerns within their control.

Disappointed in Destin

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have stayed at The Islander multiple times over the last 10 years. I have been always pleased with the facilities, staff, and service. But this stay was a total disappointment. I called on Thursday to see if we could get an additional day added to our stay because online showed it was open. Staff acted like this was highly irregular and there was no possible way to add an additional night. The room was semi clean when we arrived. The refrigerator door was broken and we asked for repair when we arrived. And again on 2nd day. It was never repaired. We kept a case of drinks against the door so it would close. Coffee maker was not working, called front desk to complain about it and was told to bring them to the office. Took 2 coffee makers down, was told they would try to replace it. It was replaced later that day. But just overall non concerned, no apology or anything. One elevator was broken the entire stay. Staff at desk were rude. Just overall very disappointing

Always a great trip

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Long time renter on East side loving the beach view but rented the West side for the first time. The West View was beautiful as well. The unit was lovely and had all the cooking items we needed. The stove burners were very uneven due to the spiral metal old fashion type they were but it still worked for cooking. The living room is comfortable and decorated nicely, the TV’s are huge and a nice addition. The only disappointment was the master bed. It was the hardest most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. I dreaded going to bed every night and didn’t sleep very well. Please replace the mattress!

Beach Vacay Summer 2022

The condo and property were nice in a convenient location. The condo had everything we could have needed. The only 2 things missing in the condo we wish we would have had were an icemaker which I may have failed to notice on the property description and there was no blanket for the pull-out sofa only sheets. The property has a great grilling area and 2 pools that are kept very clean. We brought our boat and were able to keep it in the lot on the condo lot during our stay; we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay at this condo again!

Spring Break Relaxation

Found one twin bed hard enough for me to sleep on comfortably. Gave the king size bed to my 6’4” grandson. Need to remember to buy ice when grocery shopping, ice makers are turned off. Health issue I believe. Islander never disappoints. Parents need to remember their kids aren’t the only ones at the pool. Yelling constantly is really not necessary.

Great Location, but Needed Cleaning

We've stayed at The Islander almost every year since it first opened. Some years we visited 3 or 4 times, we've stayed in literally every floor, of both wings. This unit has an excellent view, it's upgraded, we didn't really need anything other than food and personal items to enjoy our stay. Our only complaint is that this unit needed cleaning. My fiancée wanted to move to another unit, it was so bad. We spent our first vacation night doing housework! One of the shelves in the refrigerator had black mold. We tried to clean it, but it probably needs to be soaked in bleach, or replaced because the black mold is in between the glass and the middle support beam where you can't reach it. The carpet was "tacky" or "sticky" to the touch so we were forced to keep footwear on at all times. The shower curtains had black mold on them, so we replaced the inner curtain with a new curtain from Walmart. Both sofas and recliner chair were visibly filthy from first glance, and had excessive stains. The pull-out sofa had white crusty stains on one cushion, and I cannot write what activity my family all guessed that stain was from. There's no way that a cleaning crew could have missed that on accident. I really don't want to guess what the substance was. We tried flipping cushions but they were stained worse on the bottom sides. They all needed a serious steam cleaning as they arms were also "sticky" to the touch just like the carpet. To make them usable we purchased bedsheets from Walmart to cover them up. Otherwise, nobody in my family would use them. Coming up on 40 years of visiting The Islander, with our number of visits well over 100 (plus vacations at The Aegean, East Pass Towers, Waterview Towers, Jetty East, Inlet Reef), I can say with confidence that this was the dirtiest condo we've ever rented in Destin.

Amenities were the high point

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was far more dated than the pictures led us to believe. I slept on the loveseat our entire stay because the king size bed was so uncomfortable and the large couch was made of denim (distressed denim at that). We had to come in a couple days late which I communicated to the staff at the islander. We were 2 hours away when we found out they had rented our condo out, making double the money considering we didn’t receive any portion of ours back. When I called to discuss why we had to wait to check in when the condo had been paid for by us for two days now, I was told “call back, I’m busy with people in the lobby”. The only saving grace was Maggie at the front desk who did her best to correct the issue and apologized that her coworker was so rude. The amenities and activities for the kids was nice but will definitely not be staying again. There was also mold in the shower so I bought bleach and cleaned it myself.

Upon arrival the gate code we were given did not work. We called the front desk and they were annoyed to have to come out and help.... in fact, they never actually came out. we figured it out with the help of someone else. The condo wasn't the cleanest (sand in beds and floors etc) and the halls and stairwells were very dirty. The elevator was down 3 of our 5 nights which was annoying since it was on the 6th floor. Th staff was not very helpful when the water was shut off to the entire building due to a watermain break.

Nice relaxing stay
