Cabin had everything we needed and was clean and well cared for. The location was a little remote, but that was not a problem at all. View from deck was wonderful. Beautiful location. Loved our stay!

Great location

We loved the view, spent lots of time watching wildlife from the porch. There is an accessible beach a short walk away, which was nice. Plenty of room inside, and very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

A Hidden Gem by the Water

We had a fantastic week at the Whale View Waterfront Cottage. The location was absolutely perfectā€”peaceful, private, and with stunning views we never got tired of. The home was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked with everything we needed for a family stay. We especially appreciated the outdoor space and the easy walk to the water. It was a great home base for exploring Orcas Islandā€”just far enough off the beaten path, which we really enjoyed. Weā€™d happily return. Thank you for a great stay!

Beautiful views, great property conveniently located to Moran Park and Eastsound village. We enjoyed walking down to the beach. There is beach access at the end of the road. We made several meals. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. There is a chunky friendly buck that hangs out near an apple tree. We brought him apples from in town. Loved the house!!! Had a great time on Orcas. Lots of great hiking.

Amazing view & privacy!

This was amazing and we don't feel we could have picked a better house to rent. Perfect for solitude and privacy. Loved the view and wildlife. Watched the local deer, porpoises, seals and eagles. We did go whale watching and from the boat saw orcas just north of doe bay. Only 15 mins from town. We will definitely rent this home again.

Beautiful and serene!!

We enjoyed our stay here. It had everything we needed. The views are stunning, it's a quiete serene place with the opportunity to see wildlife such as deer, bald eagles, osprey, porpoises, etc. You are also 15ish minutes from Eastsound.

Back again to a memorable house

We made our fifth visit to the Cedar House (Whale View) and found it just as cozy and comfortable as ever. The kitchen is small but well-equipped to prepare meals for a crowd. The views of eagles, seals and sunsets are striking. The beach at the end of the road is great for tide pooling at low tide or for kayaking at high tide. Seaside wildlife was plentiful while we were there in early June. Eastsound is close by for those who want to shop and dine out. The cottage is stocked with jigsaw puzzles and an eclectic library for those who wish to stay in. Whale View offers everything needed by visitors of all ages to have a delightful stay.

Beautiful Home in a Spectacular Location

We loved everything about this house. It was perfect for three friends and two ten-year-olds. The house was clean and well-equipped, and the views are spectacular. The community beach is lovely. We saw lots of wildlife right at the house, including dolphins and bald eagles. We're already talking about coming back!

Family Fun

We had a great time, we saw Deer, Racoon, and Eagles. The place was well stocked. We would have loved some better coffee mugs, but thatā€™s just us being coffee snobs. The upstairs bedroom has a distinct odor and some cobwebs could be taken care of, but other than that the place was clean and spacious.

Amazing View

The view was stunning. We saw porpoises and a harbor seal from the deck. The house could use a few repairs, but nothing major. The location is quite remote - great for quiet and privacy, but a little inconvenient for going places. Overall, we had a lovely time.

This property is listed as being in Olga. I see it was changed after we booked it. It's nowhere near Olga. That said, it was an enjoyable, comfortable place to vacation.

Absolutely outstanding views!!!

The cabin was beautiful and beds were very comfortable. The views from every window in the house were breathtaking. It was very private and very very quiet. we saw seals, otters, eagles and deer. In order to see whales we rented a 19 foot boat in Deer Harbor and went to Walden Island where we saw a small pod of orcas which was thrilling. The only downside to the cabin was that the written directions to the cabin were horrible. Itā€™s a lot easier to get to than the directions indicate! We finally had to ask some neighbors where to find the cabin.

Summer family vacation

I would not stay here again. The house is in need of very deep clean. There were cobwebs and dust all over the pictures, wall hangings, and table tops upon arrival. It looked like it had been cleaned long before our arrival and then sat empty for quite some time. There were at least 8 spiders with webs just hanging out in various rooms and mouse droppings in the bottom cabinets of the kitchen. I called property management and she was very empathetic and sent someone to set mouse traps and clean the droppings. The house has a beautiful view but no good furniture to enjoy it on. I'd love to vacation on the island again but not at this house.

We'll be back

This place was magical! We are already talking about returning next year. The house is comfortable with a rustic feel. There was more than enough room for my partner, me, and a friend. The location was so special on a bluff about the water with a view across the sound to Mt. Rainier, it was hard for us to pry ourselves away to go do anything. The house feels remote; even though it is only 5 miles from town, it takes 15 minutes to get there because half of the route is on narrow, windy, unlit roads that turn to gravel near the end. While that might discourage some, for us it was a plus. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels. We appreciated the individual heat controls in various parts of the house. The full size washer and dryer were good quality and helpful as we were on a longer trip and needed to do laundry. We love the place, but if I could get greedy and have it the way I want -- it might be time to upgrade the kitchen a bit with some better quality pots and pans. Also, leaving some basic condiments in the fridge/cupboard (ketchup, mustard, olive oil) would be helpful.

Great location - beautiful views

We have stayed here many times because the house is on a beautiful location. The kitchen is minimal but functional (galley type), the deck and views worth it. Forget the title (you wonā€™t see a whale) but you will see seals, porpoises, and bald eagles.

House with a great view

This house gave our family a lovely getaway for a week. It's a 15-minute drive from Eastsound, the main town on the Island. Important: Make sure to walk to the opposite end of Ringtail Lane to find the little path down to a small and charming beach.

Needs serious maintenence

The master bathroom and sink didn't drain, serious leak under kitchen sink and outside faucet, dishwasher needs replaced, need updating towels and potholders, cubbiards weren't clean, fridge wasn't clean, beautiful view, not being well maintained at all, only three bigger coffee mugs, etc,

Privacy and A Breathtaking View

This house is incredibly well-maintainedā€”especially considering it rests on an incredibly remote, rugged coastline. The ruggedness and its proximity to the Salish Sea make it an ideal getaway spot for stressed out ā€œcity folkā€ like me. I feel like I was finally able to relax and shake off remnants of urban living. Great space tooā€”three bedrooms, gorgeous view, a pianoā€”even an entertainment center! (As if the whales werenā€™t exciting enough;)
