Utter Seclusion on 600 Feet of Waterfront , Free WiFi

Situated on 600 feet of both rocky and sandy beach, this contemporary home sits on one of San Juan Island's largest stretches of private waterfront, attracting deer, owls, fox, seals, otters and bald eagles. Take in the 180 degree view from Spieden Island to Mount Baker. You will welcome the amazing morning sunrises to spectacular sunsets from this uniquely situated home.
We supply crab pots, shrimp pots and dip nets which you can use right off the beach. Go down at night with a flashlight and the dip net. Shine the light into the water and the shrimp come to the surface. Some guests like to scuba dive off our property which is full of crab and scallop.
Except at very high tide, at the bottom of the wooden stairs, there is a cove to launch kayaks. This side of the Island is the safest for kayaking and almost always calm.
The open floor plan in this home has a spiral staircase to sleeping loft that sleeps 4. The bedroom has super-comfortable California King bed with views of the water. The casual dining right off the completely equipped kitchen and just steps from the outdoor deck. Wood stove in the living room will make this a pleasant stay in cooler months too!

This home looks wonderful in the photos but it is even better in person-the views are so beautiful-the house was comfortable-we had everything we needed and more. I will book again-dont think I could have found a better place on the island. Oh-and the hosts are VERY responsive-quick and helpful-it doesnt get much better!

This is a beautiful peaceful location to enjoy a retreat. The home is well taken care of, clean and has everything needed. I locked my keys inside the house. Thank you to Michelle who responded.I had my keys on less than 20 minutes. She was thoughtful and kind hearted. The island is lovely and this is a special place.

Wonderful stay at a serene location

We enjoyed every moment. On arrival Michelle gave us lots of great tips about restaurants etc in the area and made us feel very welcome!The property is beautiful and quiet and the views are gorgeous out over the channel. We used the staircase on the Northside to get down to the water and it was a bit tricky but worth the climb. The dogs loved it!The kitchen had everything we needed plus more, even an airfryer and a keurig coffee pod machine. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom had a beautiful view out over the channel too. We will be back!

Peaceful and convenient

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay! The setting was so peaceful, especially views from the back deck. Easy access to Friday Harbor and the rest of San Juan Island. The house was clean, comfortable, pet friendly, and had a fully equipped kitchen for cooking.

Great base to see all of San Juan Island

The VRBO photos don’t do this place justice. The views from the family room, kitchen, deck, and yard are mesmerizing. Wanted to stay in for dinner bc why would you leave the water views. Everything on the island is less than 25 min from this place. Many bird varieties and a few seal sightings. The water tanks addition was great. Very private. Would certainly return.

Most Beautiful Stay on the Island

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this gorgeous cabin. We had complete privacy the entire time, & truly enjoyed the seclusion. Access to the water is only a short walk from the cabin, & I’d recommend checking it out. We hope to come back soon and stay here again.

Ample space for 4 people, comfortable beds. Great kitchen, nice living room. Good communication with owners and property manager. Quiet/peaceful (but good wifi and cell phone signal). Great views of the water. We watched orcas from the porch and "front yard". We got lucky with perfect weather and whale spotting.

Utter Seclusion

I didn't want to leave. The views were amazing. The home quiet and secluded. Great Communication from the host, along with many ideas of what to do. The best part was the excellent weather we had and the swing to sit on while watching the boats and wildlife go by.

Lovely secluded oasis on San Juan Island!

My partner and I came to San Juan Island for my birthday and this place made our stay magical! Waking up and being able to step out and look at the water off the back deck was so peaceful. We highly recommend this place and hope to come back!

Wonderful Home

A gem on the edge of the island

This is a beautifully efficient, comfortable home with a view of the Puget Sound! We enjoyed our wintery stay, and the wood fireplace and floor heaters kept us cozy the whole time. We would love to return!

Charles and Kristy Herrick live in Sammamish, Washington just east of Seattle in the foothills. Charles does relief work in Africa, India and Afghanistan.He has been a longtime executive in the IT industry, a business consultant and licensed realtor. He is an author and several of his books are available for reading and a complimentary copy of his book Breath of Kenya is given to guests as a way of saying thank you. Kristy is an avid gardener. She weaves, spins and knits and maintains the one and half acre English garden at our home in Sammamish. Our bulldog Otis does absolutely nothing, which meets expectations and then some.

Wonderful seclusion just an hour's ferry ride from Anacortes. San Juan is quaint and a bit yesteryear. Friday Harbor is a small town with just about everything you need except for franchise stores. San Juan gets about a third of the rainy days of Seattle. The main road is only a mile away and it's a calm rural road which is great for running, walking or bike riding. Turning right just before the winery and heading down a tree arched road we fell in love with our 6 acres of paradise. It is perhaps the finest piece of property on the Island.
