Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and one mile from the heart of downtown Brevard, home of the white squirrel. White Oak Cottage boasts of two bedrooms, one bath, scenic porch, and a cozy sunroom. Seated in a quiet neighborhood off the main road leading into town, this home is the perfect location for cyclists wanting quick access to both downtown routes and mountainous loops. Only 10 minutes to Pisgah National Forest and 20 minutes to Dupont State Forest offering hundreds of miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking. An open front porch provides scenic views of the mountains and beautiful sunsets. It also has a detached storage space containing a bike rack and room for all your gear. Itā€™s the perfect destination for the outdoor enthusiast who travels with their kayaks, bikes, and outdoor equipment.

From recently modernized shiplap walls and exposed brick, to the new fixtures and appliances, youā€™ll rest comfortably with both king and queen beds, two TV's with Amazon Fire Stick, WiFi, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room, and a rustic, electric fireplace. Enjoy the coffee bar and quiet sunroom in the mornings while utilizing the gas grill in the evenings as you watch the sun set over the gorgeous mountaintops. White Oak Cottage is the perfect getaway.

Rick and Denise are a lovely couple. They even gave me gluten free muffins and brownies, a colorful plant along with birthday wishes for my birthday. Very clean, beautifully decorated and the weather was perfect. They're available at a moments notice for any questions. A perfect stay in the mountains!

It was so great we came back for a second time! We've stayed at 15-20 VRBO's in the last 5 years and this one was the only one we loved enough to come back for a second time. Every thing is perfect: the house is beautifully decorated, well-stocked, and immaculately clean. The hosts are friendly and accommodating. The yard is beautifully maintained, the neighborhood is peaceful, and the location is convenient to downtown. Really, just great all around!

We have stayed here several times. And each and every time, itā€™s been the best experience. The house is spotless and the location is quiet. The owners have thought of everything a guest would need. Definitely 5 star stay!!

Wonderful Cottage

Clean and well equipped cottage that was tastefully decorated. Everything in good condition.Great location; and wonderful hosts who were very prompt in communication. Perfect all around.... absolutely no complaints or issues.

Nice cottage

The owner thoughtfully left me two blueberry muffins, which I greatly appreciated after a long drive. There is some charming woodworking at the cottage, including a small wildlife station outside the dining room window where we frequently saw white squirrels and woodpeckers. The cottage is well-laid out and the kitchen has everything you might need, including a coffee/ tea station. Very clean, with comfortable beds. Overall, a very restful stay over Thanksgiving.

Hurricane Vacation

Lucky us - we booked our stay months ago & it turned out that Hurricane Helene decided to visit at the same time. The house was beautiful, but we lost power for 3 days. The owners were wonderful. They gave us water, flashlights, a sound machine, and a generator to charge our phones. We had a great time regardless of the hurricane. Highly recommended! machine for sleeping

Great Place!

Me and my family loved staying at this property, it was close to downtown and the house was very cozy and clean. Beautiful scenery and it had everything we needed for a nice long weekend. The blueberry muffins that were provided was a great touch and much appreciated! I wish it had been more private as the construction next door was a bit bothersome, but overall it was a great location.

Our Stay in White Oak Cabin

Overall it was a great cabin. Extremely clean and comfortable. The only thing that would make it even better, like all other cabins we've stay in, is to also provide typical condiments, such as mustard, catsup, mayo, cooking oil or spray and olive oil & vinegar. The only problems we encountered, were the WiFi user name was different than the one listed in the Home rules book and VRBO, and the recommended restaurant info in the book was real old, like from 2018 or 19.

Great 2nd stay at White Squirrel Cottage

This is the 2nd year that we have stayed at the cottage. The cottage is exceptionally clean and well organized. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and enjoying the breeze. Denise and Rick are great people and would help with any concern....we had NO concerns as everything is great. It is only a very short drive from town.

Wow! Great place!

This is a remarkable place! It is exquisitely clean and excellently decorated. Has everything you would want or need in a vacation stay. Very comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, great location. Hosts were very responsive to messages with kindness and responsibility.

Fall Getaway

Weā€™ve been coming to this area for years. This is the perfect cottage just on the edge of town. Five minutes to downtown Brevard and all the great shops. And a short distance to Pisgah and DuPont forests. The cottage is so very well kept and clean. Spacious and cozy at the same time. The owners have put lots of thought and heart into all the renovations. Itā€™s the perfect home away from home. We hope to return again and again!

Exceptional

I think that this was the cleanest place I've ever been, that didn't perform surgeries. I actually challenged myself to find something dirty, and I couldn't. Not in a corner, under a bed, on a window sill, anywhere. The house was very well stocked, and decorated nicely. The furniture is clean and comfortable. We didn't have any issues and the owners were very helpful and friendly. I like to stay at rentals that are managed by the owners because I find they usually go the extra mile, and don't skimp on things like dishwasher soap and toilet paper. Richard and Denise went well past the extra mile. As I said earlier, the house was very well stocked with not only the necessities, but quite a few extras. We will likely stay here again.

Beautiful spot in the mountains!

Our stay was absolutely perfect. Denise had everything we need and the muffins were delicious. The house was so clean and tidy, this was by far the best rental we have stayed at. We were visiting Brevard for the first time for our friendsā€™ wedding weekend with family and friends. We had a really great time, thank you for making our stay so effortless!

Beautiful and clean!

This home is beautiful and so clean! It is stocked with everything you need plus extras like fresh blueberry muffins and a basket of packaged snacks. The hosts are so kind and helpful. The area is fun with lots of outdoor activities available and Downtown Brevard has a nice downtown area for shopping and dining. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay at this property again!

Perfect little house

This stay was the best experience we could imagine. The house is so cute. It is an old house that has been beautifully renovated. It has all the modern amenities but retains the cozy farmhouse feel. Everything is tastefully decorated with lots of personal touches. The yard is beautiful too with lots of flowers, trees, birds, and white squirrels. The owners are so nice and seem to have gone out of their way to make sure that they included everything possible to make for a pleasant stay. We are so thankful we decided to stay here and hope to return some time in the future.

Brevard is a great little mountain town, and there are numerous awesome hikes within 20 or so minutes from here. This house is a great home base for a vacation in Brevard and surrounding areas!

At home, away from home!

The White Oak Cottage proved to be everything we'd hoped for, and more, during our several weeks in Brevard. Only minutes away from downtown and the Brevard Music Center, located near the edge of town, this well furnished, recently restored older house, with it's attractive landscaping with lots of flowers, large trees, white and gray squirrels, and variety of birds, was perfect for us. The owners, Rick and Denise, do an amazing job providing a very clean and well maintained property. We're definitely looking forward to returning.

Everything at White Oak Cottage is GREAT!

The cottage is VERY clean and up to date. There are so many added features that made the stay very enjoyable. Black out curtains in the bedrooms, plus shades. Heater/fan in the bathroom. The owners are so nice, they even had snacks and muffins awaiting for us. It is a very short drive to Brevard. We will definitely stay at the White Oak Cottage on our next visit to Brevard.
