Although this is an older cabin with older furniture, it was very clean. This is the most well stocked vacation rental I've ever stayed in. Anything you might need or may have forgotten is available, and very generously so. The screened porch and deck are great, and there are tons of books, games, and maps of the area. The location can't be beat if you're planning to hike. The host was kind, helpful, and very responsive.

Great cabin in the mountains!! This place was built in the 70s and it’s solid cedar inside and out It took me back to the cabin my grandfather had in the late 70s earlier 80s. We loved it. Super clean, easy drive to waterfalls and Brevard. We stay at a lot of Vrbo’s and the process was as smooth as it gets. Recommend!!

Charles, thanks for the review!! Yes, this place was built in 1972. The original owners sold it in 1975 to a family from Florida who only used it in the summer when their kids went to Brevard music school. We bought it from them in 2007. I'm in construction so I remodeled both bathrooms, put in new windows, tore down the old screen porch and built a bigger, nicer one! Hardwood flooring is next!

Host was very responsive and included a list of things to do in the area. Very close to hiking areas and DuPont forest but only short drive to Brevard for supplies or restaurants. Property was clean and as advertised, Very quiet location, not too close to neighbors. Kitchen was stocked with everything imaginable including spices for cooking, paper products, and other essentials. Our group included veterans and we appreciated display of American flag. View from the deck out front is nice, including the bird feeder activity! We had fun and will add to our growing list of vacation rentals!

This was a perfect location in the mountains. The cabin was extremely comfortable. Very quiet and secluded. Incredible place to stay in the Dupont/Pisgah area.

We loved everything about this place. It’s secluded enough to be nice and quiet but still very convenient to all the things you might need while on a trip. It was about a 3 minute drive to one of the main trailheads at Dupont, you can’t beat that. The home itself was super clean and very well equipped. The host was extremely responsive and very nice to deal with. I highly recommend this place.

Cedar Mountain/Mt. Hi

We had a wonderful weekend at this property. It was easy to check in and beautifully maintained. The kitchen was well stocked. Even though a hurricane knocked out power, Dick came by and set up a generator. He definitely went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Everyone who was there loved the ambience and aesthetic of the cabin. We will definitely stay here again!

Ideal Dupont base

Ideal location for a Dupont State Forest adventure, particularly for biking. Easy ride to Fawn Lake access area, not bad ride to Corn Mill Shoals. Well-stocked kitchen, beautiful deck, obviously well-loved house. Worked great for our family (2 adults, 2 college students and 1 middle schooler). Dick is an exceptionally friendly and helpful host.

Girls' week

Four sixty friends and I stayed at Lindal Cedar home for some hiking and touring the area. The owner, Dick, was very helpful in suggesting hikes and amenities in the area. The home was clean and tidy, with convenient screened in porch and outdoor deck overlooking the woods. It was in a lovely, quiet location. We were just minutes from Dupont Recreation Area and Caesar's Head State Park. We spent a day exporing Pisgah Forest and Brevard area, a half hour drive. This was a perfect location for outdoor adventure!
