PET FRIENDLY secluded vintage cottage on 10 acres with long private drive. Spacious Living-room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water with sleeper futon, Open Kitchen and Dining room, Master Bedroom with queen size sleigh bed, second bedroom with two twin beds.
Enjoy all the comforts of home with 5G WiFi and SmartTV technology in this calm, serene home.

Over 300' feet of nice water frontage with a floating dock. Outdoor water equipment available for guests to use including floats, kayaks, etc.
Brettum.s Pond is Large Pond is great for fishing Trout, Brown Trout, Bass, and Perch.
The cottage is a kitchen with every thing you want, a dining-room, large living-room with a futon, two bedrooms, basement you have a washer and dryer!
Enjoy the privacy, peacefulness and between all mountains from the NH border, Rangeley, Sugarloaf, to Rockland! 1-hours the coast, 30 min to Augusta, Auburn, or Farmington! We have a variety of restaurant close to Livermore Falls/Jay, Farmington, Augusta or Lewiston!
Local stores and shops within a 5-10 minute drive. Gas, grocery, and take out available within 1 miles. Hospital and major retail stores within a 25 min drive to Auburn / Lewiston..

This place is amazing! We plan on going back here again next year. Our dog even approves! The house was well stocked, clean & in a peaceful location. The dog & I watched the sun set on the dock & viewed the stars at night. The hosts are outstanding too.

It was nice to not have neighbors close by. We enjoyed just being alone with nature. The dogs loved just jumping out and heading to the private beach and dock. They have to hummingbirds that I name Bonnie and Clyde. I’ve never had them interact like that. Super friendly and honestly made me freak at first. The back porch was where we spent most of our time. Bring games as they have puzzles which we did. The WiFi don’t expect to do any work or down load games or movies. It is as it says, rustic but much better than camping.

We love this place! It's private, yet close to amenities. I grew up on this pond spending summers from the age of four 245. I was so excited to find another place on the pond that reminded me of my family cottage. Can't wait to get back!

Check in was super painless. Just walk in and make yourself at home.The facilities were as you would expect in a lakeside cottage. Everything you could need in the kitchen. Toilet and shower stall in bathroom. A small sink in each bedroom meaning you didn't have to hold up the bathroom for someone else if you were just washing up or brushing teeth.Communication with owner was great. Chris was very responsive. We had amazing weather all week and spent a lot of time in the water. My husband and neice did a lot of fishing. The water is SOOO clear. The walk out into water is very gentle but rocky. Bring your swim shoes.

This is a wonderful, very private property with easy access to the water. Communication with the owner was great. The lake was generally quiet, and there were a few days when I was the only one out there on my kayak. The property was spacious enough to take the dogs for a couple walks a day and never have to leave the property. We were thrilled to find 2 organic farms/markets within about 10 miles and didn’t need to venture out further than that. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. The dock was usable but could use a little repair/upgrade. Overall this property provided everything we needed for a near perfect vacation.

Peaceful retreat

It was our 5th time there, I’m sure we’ll be back next year. Couple of things disappointing. The tv didn’t work from the start took 4 days to get it replaced. The dock is in poor shape, the plywood needs replacing, it’s very soft. One of the recliners is in disrepair. Other than that it’s a great place to relax, we will be back.

Sweet Vintage Cottage

This is truly a vintage cottage with a private waterfront setting.The cottage is very comfortable. I was there with my two goldens, plenty of room for them to swim and run. This would be a great spot for a family with young children. My only disappointment: I was expecting a kayak as pictured in the listing.

We were impressed with this property as so as we arrived. This home is rustic and very peaceful and quiet. We were surprised at all this contained. Only needed our clothes and food everything else was provided. Thank you Chris for everything it was a pleasure talking with you . Thank you for the delicious maple syrup you make and provided. We are looking forward to seeing you again next year.

Nice property

Beautiful place on the lake. Very relaxing and good fishing. House is nice but could use some updating but fine for a vacation. I would go back again.

2024 adventure

Very private location. A great place to relax and unwind. The camp was well stocked with paper products, dishes, pots and pans and plenty of towels and linens. We saw a few spiders but, it's camp! There was spray for those! They even had stuff for a dog. Feeding bowls, a runner outside and a few toys. We loved it here!

Pond, Weather, Location

Loved the pond, weather was perfect for being in the water, location is private & quiet. The cottage needs a few things to be looked at. I left the owner a note. Otherwise we had a perfect 10 vacation on Brettuns Pond. We will be back.

Amazing!

I grew up on this pond and finding this rental was like a needle in a haystack. The place is beautiful and there is plenty of privacy. The swimming area was perfect for our two dogs and my 5 year old grandchild. We will definitely be coming back every year! We are so happy to finally find a place that we can consistently go to!

Get away and gathering

It was our fourth or fifth year renting the cabin. Great place to get away and have a one day family gathering. It was well furnished, the exterior cooking area was great once again. Probably be back next year.

Retreat in the pines

Such a great location.. easy to get to NH, the Maine coast and farther North, all within 90 minutes. Secluded in the pines and serenaded by the loons.. doesn't get any better! We really enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Cozy rustic cabin

Cabin was well stocked with supplies and just about anything you could need. The cabin could definitely use some upgrades including a way of locking the premises, shower losing warm water consistently, and mice definitely being active. Yard had a lot of dog poop that wasn't cleaned up. Overall enjoyed our stay due to location and privacy of the beautiful lakefront property.

Great stay at the lake

We loved walking Iggy the Great Pyrenees along the long driveway and swimming in the lake all week. Great kitchen, bedroom and living room with tv for rainy days. Great places to visit and hike and restaurants! Thank You!

Rustic cabin with amenities

My husband and dog spent a lovely week in this waterfront cabin. As a 2 bedroom cabin it is small. I could see a small family (couple and 2 kids) staying in it. There is a futon, but the main concern is a very small bathroom with a stall shower. So that might be difficult with smaller children. Of course, it is all about the lake, and the somewhat isolated setting of the house. Lovely sunset view. This house is described as vintage, and that is appropriate. Outfitted with some vintage furnishings. Lots of room outside to spread out. Sunset view over the mountains. Biggest plus is solitude and water frontage, be aware this is a populated pond with pontoon boats and kayakers. We chose this location as a base to explore Northwest mountain area, and also Mt Washington NH, all within 2 hour drive. Biggest downside has to be the bathroom. It is very small. Which is why I would discourage a larger family. Ideal for 1 couple plus a dog! If you like nature, and exploring this part of Maine is great. Hiking trails are everywhere. Most ponds/lakes had easily found public access.

Peaceful Retreat

Very private location off the main road. This camp has lots of land so there is space bwtween neighbors. Very relaxing!

Emphasis on rustic.

Location was great. Furnishings were old, one recliner didn’t work. The entire place needs a deep cleaning, but it is advertised as rustic. It’s a great camping place and did offer all we needed for our stay. The fact that we were not able to lock the cabin when we were away was a little disconcerting. I would stay again but might plan on bargaining for a better cleaning. Was overall fair for the price.

This camp is my family’s personal getaway, one of our favorite places to be. It has 300' feet of frontage on the pond and 10 AC.We grew up on this pond and love visiting when we can. I split my time making maple syrup and helping others find their own special home properties.
