Unique & perfectly situated near historic Durango. Explore Mesa Verde and Hesperus Ski area just 5 minutes from Bella Vista! Stunning home w a large open floor plan including an incredible gourmet kitchen with all the amenities. Home has an upstairs private bedroom with a queen size bed, T.V and private bathroom. Main floor has a King size bed located on a former stage surrounded with privacy curtains + private T.V with access to a full bathroom. Another queen size bed is situated on the main floor with awesome views of the stars at night, (this bed is in the expansive living room with a privacy screen). A magnificent Baby Grand Piano is located in the Living room for any pianists in your party. Bella Vista is equipped with a large screen T.V, lots of stylish and comfortable seating as well as a futon and sofa sleeper + dining table & chairs. Home provides linens, towels, coffee machine, toaster and an outside barbecue grill. Upon entering this unique home you will say "Wow" at the Panoramic Snow Capped Mountain Views! This is really an event hall repurposed as a place to sleep, so it’s very open concept. I would recommend for a family or smaller group that is ok with limited privacy! That being said, the views are gorgeous, the property is quiet, and the kitchen is spacious. The large fireplace was so nice to sit around at night. The taxidermy display is odd, but can be fun if you’re ok with a bit of kookiness. We did have the unfortunate timing of staying when the septic system was backed up so the sewage smell was disappointing and frustrating.

The view is quite fantastic, and the great room and kitchen were great. However, this is not a home with 3 bedrooms, this is a reception hall with one bedroom (small) and two other beds (one on the stage, and another in the foyer)! Thank goodness we did not have guests with us, how embarrassingly awkward that would have been.Also, there are multiple light switches that do nothing, perhaps not working. We were never able to turn on main light fixture in the great room. The first light we found (having arrived after dark) was one that lite up a mountain lion taxidermy. SCARRY!! if not for my husband, I would have left. No pre or forewarning on that massive display was a shock.

Mountain Retreat

A very comfortable place off the beaten path. But not too far. Stunning vista and immersed in beautiful countryside. The full kitchen was great. As well as easy access to go and explore.

One of the kind place

see stars from the bed on stage! You don’t need to be sitting outdoor to embrace the outdoor views. Great for family that doesn’t need a lot of privacy. Easy access to la plata canyon, best place to stay near mesa verde while still have mountains instead of dessert scenery.

Cool place!!

It is a very unique property. Pictures definitely do not do it justice. Very easy to get to and an awesome view! Highly recommend for a family not really needing private rooms.

Wonderful View

This property is stunning on the views. It is comfortable. The only thing is it only has one bedroom and it’s hot. The other two beds are in the living room. One bed is on a stage (use to be a dance hall). There is no railing down the stairs which is not good for older people. All in all we had a good time. We did have a bat in the roof. He didn’t really bother us too bad.

Sword of truth ranch

First of all the pictures on VRBO do NOT do this property justice!! As soon as we entered the house we were blown away at the amazing log work inside the home as well as the views from inside!! I joked with my wife that the house was overkill for just the two of us but we ended up having a fantastic experience overall!! Love this house and will definitely look into it again in the future!!

Even better than the photos!

This place is fabulous! The mountain views through the three-story windows are terrific. Excellent kitchen and other amenities. Close to Durango and other sites. Property manager is very responsive. We had so much fun hanging out in the main room and just enjoying the space.

Comfortable with Pretty views

This property was larger than I expected but in the sense of openness. The main room is large and open and has a beautiful view of the mountains. It snowed 16-18 inches and it made for gorgeous scenery. There was a restaurant about 2 miles down that road that was pretty darn good. I recommend this place if you have a 6-10 group.

Short holiday get away

My wife and I enjoyed our stay and the home was everything as advertised. Just outside of Durango but minutes away and only 45 minutes from Purgatory. We were hoping the Hesperus ski area would be open to do some tubing but it was not. Just FYI for this time of year and nothing at all to do with the home. Thank you!

3 generation family getaway

This home was amazing for our small family getaway! The home is spectacular. We were actually surprised with a bear sighting to our delight. We went to Mesa Verde and Durango. We all enjoyed my husband playing the piano and the acoustics were fabulous. I love unique rentals and this was perfect.

Wow factor!

The views are incredible. Lots of space to spread out. Great communication with host when we had an issue with the refrigerator. He got everything fixed quickly. Just a quick tip... bring a sleep mask and ear plugs... there's no escaping the sun with all of those beautiful enormous windows and if you have any light sleepers, the shared space can be a bit noisy. We truly did enjoy this unique stay and it is a beautiful place indeed!!!

Peaceful Beauty

The space was great. Nothing but nature out the back door and awesome accommodations. Gourmet kitchen for home chefs!!! We ran into a small maintenance issue, and the owner responded immediately and had it resolved in less than 2 hours. Ron followed up with us afterward to make sure we were all set. Loved this property and will stay again next time we visit Durango!!

Bella Vista House is Unique !!! Large open space with plenty of room and bedding for larger groups. Sleeps up to 10 people. Home provides clean crisp linens, towels, coffee machines, toaster, outside grill, gourmet kitchen with plenty of dinner ware and cutlery. Large open floor plan has room to exercise, reading nooks, a baby grand piano and large soft rugs. Home is equipped with a punch code pad entryway, plenty of parking for larger vehicles also! Private gated entry way keeps your items and stay private!!
