Our "Apartment in the Maine Woods" was built in 2005 to attract our sons and their families to visit. We have 2 daughters-in-law to please (so you know it is extra nice). The apartment is turn key ready with everything you need for a comfortable week's stay. It is pine paneled,Air-Conditioned and Heat, has 2 bedrooms, a medium size living area, a single bath with a stall shower, a FULL kitchen and a deck overlooking Crockett Brook as it babbles by. Guests love it! Apartment includes a full size washer and dryer. (we provide laundry detergent).We have wifi and an outside fire ring and a small Cuisinart gas grill.. We provide all linen, most condiments, paper goods and most other things you might need. We even supply tooth paste!We stock your refrigerator with a dozen eggs, stick of butter, bottled waters, sodas,mayonaise,mustard and ketchup. Cabinet includes flour, sugar,coffee,tea,oil and spices. Enjoy host Judy's Maine blueberry muffins on your first morning. Talk to host Skip about a personalized boat tour of Lake Megunticook, a glacial lake(weather permitting) All part of your experience with us!

We frequently see raccoons, fox, porcupines and occasionally deer, moose and skunks. Today we saw two fawns on our property. All this, and lobster too!

Our property is very kid friendly. Much for them to do here and in the area, sailing, water skiing, hiking, mountain climbing, rock climbing, biking, kayaking on Lake Megunticook and on the Penobscot Bay and more. We have many toys available for children.

Our guests like to go to the spectacular Acadia National Park, Baxter State Park, Freeport (LL Bean plus outlet stores), Camden Hills State Park and Camden Harbor (just 15 minutes away). Windjammer sailing rides and charter sailboat rides with Coast Guard licensed sailboat Captain Nancy Rowe are available in Camden. It is a beautiful (calender picture) area. There are many art galleries in the area including the Farnsworth Museum which features many works of the Wyeths.

The best months for warmth, July and August. The best month for cool temps and light traffic are May, June, September and October. There is a large screen SonyĀ® HDTV, Wi-Fi, VCR, DirecTVĀ®, and a large library of books and DVDs available for guest use. Enjoy our quiet environment (days and nights) to catch up on your reading or your napping. We aren't professional inn keepers but we do our best to make your Maine experience so MEMORABLE you will want to come back. Please read our reviews.

Our listing rate is 150 for at least 4 nights minimum stay and for weekly reservations there 25% DISCOUNT
WILL BE $787.50 / week (7-day rental).

Coastal Maine Getaway

Our first trip to Maine. It was a very relaxing vacation. Judy and Skip were very helpful. Our group went to the beach, Bar Harbor and other sites and really enjoyed our time. We would love to come back.

Our stay was amazing! Skip amd Judy were awesome as was the cabin. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and plenty of room for 4 adults. Judy was kind enough to provide us with homemade treats, blueberry pie, blueberry muffins, and mint brownies. The location was prefect for the activities we had planned, about haf way between Portland and Bar Harbor. We would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely Wonderful!

Skip and Judy are wonderful! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cottage. It was a great halfway point between Boothbay Harbor and Bar Harbor, allowing us to do many things. The bed was SO comfortable! Judy's muffins were fabulous, and we were also blessed by her making us some mint brownies for us to take on our adventures!Cannot say enough positive things about the owners. Just a wonderful experience for our vacation to Maine. Highly recommend this place!

Wonderful Stay

Wonderful!

I had an excellent stay at this property! The apartment was well-stocked with basic toiletries and some food items like condiments. It was very convenient to Camden Hills State Park where I planned to spend most of my time. Skip and Judy were wonderful hosts. I very much enjoyed my stay and would absolutely come back!

Maine Woods Getaway

Our family had a wonderful week at Judy and Skipā€™s place in the Maine woods. The VRBO pictures donā€™t do the property justice. Our family of four was very comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed the extremely clean, well appointed apartment. Our extremely gracious hosts were the icing on the cake. We have stayed at several VRBO locations over the years and Judy and Skip were the best hosts we've encountered. I highly recommend this property for your next visit to mid-coast Maine.

Such a surprise!

We arrived at 1 in the morning but the first thing I heard was the babbling stream! It just got better from there. Oh my goodness this place is cute! Our hosts were outstanding, the apartment was clean and super well equipped. We loved it. Will definitely come back again and I highly recommend!

Beautiful space living up with the trees

Judy and Skip have created a wonderful relaxing space - the kitchen is well appointed and they have very comfortable furniture. The property is full of gorgeous trees and this place makes you feel like you're living in the tree canopy. It's also very easy to get to some great places in mid-coast Maine - Belfast, Acadia.

Judy & Skip are such attentive hosts. This was the best little place to be our base from which to explore the Penobscot coastal towns. We bought lobster off the boat and were able to bring it back to the cabin and cook it ourselves because Judy & Skip had all the kitchen and table necessities - everything! Thanks Judy & Skip!

Cozy cabin perfect for family of 3

We had a relax stay It's house above the garage, but it's really a cabin inside. Judy and Skip are just so wonderful. Judy had everything for us, it's really a turn-key vacation that we didn't have to bring anything. We got good reference for restaurants nd local favorites. I ended going to Glen Elis falls Skip recommended in Mt Washington area for the next week. It was quite a pleasant surprise!

Perfect peace

We enjoyed our stay at Judy and Skip's. They were great hosts. They welcomed us in the rain with umbrellas and gave us a quick tour of the apartment when we arrived. The next morning Judy brought fresh baked blueberry muffins for us to enjoy. They were yummy. Our stay was very peaceful. We loved it. Thank you Judy and Skip. If we return to Maine, we would definitely stay at your cozy apartment again.

Comfortable cabin with great location and wonderful hosts!

We had a great time staying at the cabin and Judy and Skip were very hospitable and kind. Judy baked twice for us and cut fresh flowers twice as well. Skip took us out on his boat and let our boys drive. We all enjoyed the location. It was quiet and peaceful and convenient to many sights. Only 1 1/2 hr drive to Acadia, which was wonderful to visit. The beds in the cabin were very comfortable, everything was so clean and inviting. Many supplies are provided like mustard, ketchup, alum foil, toilet paper, and coffee, etc. Thank you Skip and Judy for a relaxing week in Maine!

Maine Getaway

Our hosts were kind, gracious and very hospitable We loved the apartment. It was very cozy. The kitchen was the most well stocked kitchen I've used since visiting Maine for the last 4 years. Our host, Judy brought us blueberry muffins, which were delicious. She invited us to her home for homemade blueberry pie one night. Skip and Judy taught us the game Racko. It was fun. The location was beautiful. We could hear the stream from our back patio.

COOL TEMPS IN AUGUST

My husband and I have enjoyed many trips to this part of the Maine coast over the past 20 years. Our earlier selections from VRBO were based on "in town" locations so that we could park the car upon arrival and then walk to shops and restaurants. However after discovering Skip and Judy's 'cabin in the woods', we are totally hooked. We loved sitting on the deck, listening to the creek while enjoying a cup of coffee and one of Judy's delcious fresh blueberry muffins. She and Skip spoiled us rotten while we were there! We felt like members of the family. Definitely coming back next year!!

Wonderful place!

This peaceful, immaculately clean, well-appointed two bedroom, beautiful pine-walled apartment and our caring hosts, Judy and Skip, made a wonderful home away from home. The deck overlooks a babbling stream and there are sunlit forest views from every room, yet the apartment is close to the ocean, groceries, shops, and all this special part of Maine offers. The kitchen is large with a dinette perfect for puzzles and meals, and a welcoming living room has a big TV with streaming and DVDs. A minisplit provides plenty of heat and air conditioning, and there's another A/C in the bedroom. We enjoyed a wonderful vacation in this beautiful place and thank Skip and Judy for their thoughtfulness.

Beautiful property in Maine woods, Wonderful VRBO hosts a bonus!

The apartment was very nice and everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The apartment was very clean. If you choose to eat in, the kitchen is nicely stocked with cookware, dishes and everything to enjoy a meal. The hosts left a dozen eggs and a stick of butter for our use. There was direct TV and dedicated WIFI. The apartment is close to Lincolnville, Camden and Belfast. Acadia and Bar Harbor was a lovely 1.5 hour drive away. Skip and Judy were available for questions and recommendations. Skip and Judy are the best VRBO hosts we have had and we hope to return for another stay.

Magical little wooded retreat!

We were so thrilled to have happened upon this wonderful apartment while browsing VRBO! Judy & Skip are the absolute ideal couple & made our entire stay so comfortable & welcoming without being intrusive. The apartment had everything we needed. In fact, we have rented many other places & would say, they had the apartment stocked better then any other we have ever experienced. The baked treats that were left for us(baked by Judy) were delicious & a wonderful surprise that we so appreciated! There were even butter & eggs in the refrigerator upon our arrival! We canā€™t say enough about the fabulous stay we had here! Canā€™t wait to return to enjoy more chats with Judy & Skip & explore more of our favorite area of Maine!

Senior week getaway

A group of myself and four other people stayed here as a post-graduation celebration and I couldn't recommend it more! Its position right beside the creek provides a beautiful view from the deck and is very calming. However, the best part about this rental are the hosts- Skip and Judy were very kind and it was wonderful to stay with them (For anyone out there who's food motivated, they were kind enough to leave brownies for when we arrived and provided delicious blueberry muffins for our first morning in Maine). The space is small and cozy, but we found that it worked perfectly for our party of five. There's also a grocery store & gas station right down the road so that's super convenient as well. It's just a calm and lovely place to stay; we were there for a week but I would've been happy to spend a couple extra days there. Hopefully we'll be back again someday!

Everything you could need!

We had such a great time at Skip & Judyā€™s apartment in the woods! Every morning we had turkeys out the window, red squirrels jumping in the trees and the sound of the little stream flowing through the rocks down the hill from the home! Communication with Judy was spectacular, she even asked us about our kids ages to make sure she had toys all prepped and ready in the shed for them to use! Full washer and drier were super handy, fridge had butter, eggs and other necessities for us when we got there! Place was very clean and we had no problems! There was a huge list of places to go & places to eat. If a quiet little place in the woods is what youā€™re looking for than this is it! Perfectly placed between Belfast & Lincolnville!

Our week at the apartment in the woods.

We just returned from a week stay. Our rental was clean and well stocked. Skip and Judy made sure that the apartment was "move in ready" with everything from a new in the packaging toothbrush in case you forget yours to cooking spray in the cabinet. The fridge had a dozen eggs and a stick of butter placed for us to have. Judy made homemade blueberry muffins for our first morning wake up and mint brownies for our day on the lake. The apartment was clean and welcoming. Skip and Judy were wonderful hosts that we had talked with on a regular basis for their suggestions. Skip took part of our group out on his boat for a morning on the lake. I would definitely return to this apartment if we visited Maine again.

We are retired. We love Maine. We've been here every summer since 1972. Our winter home is in the Tampa area in Florida. Judy was a Special Education teacher and now directs Tennis For Fun, a free weekly tennis clinic for Special Needs athletes. Awarded the United States Tennis Association's "Adaptive Tennis National Community Service Award for 2011". She does a Tennis For Fun Clinic here in Belfast for the summer and fall.

I spent half of my school days' summers with my grand mother at Duck Trap. I fell in love with Maine. Maine is magic! We built this garage and apartment for our sons and families. It has impressed our guests, many of our bookings are repeat guests. They have described the place as peaceful, serene, private, like home and one 'really cute'. Our property does NOT abut the PENOBSCOT BAY. WE HAVE NO BEACHFRONT. TWO BEACHES A SHORT DRIVE AWAY. WE HAVE A LOVEY STREAM AND A BEAUTIFUL GLACIAL LAKE IN THE AREA. LAKE MEGUNTICOOK
