Lake Wawasee Cottage com Vista Para Johnson Bay

New renovations for 2024 are completed. New flooring and freshly painted. This home overlooks the Johnson Bay portion of Lake Wawasee perfect for water skiing. It is situated on a quiet cul-de-sac offering privacy and parking. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths and an open kitchen and living room area with a view of the bay. The master bedroom has a queen size bed. The second bedroom has a queen size bed as well. The third bedroom has two triple bunk beds. It has a patio, washer/dryer and an outside grill. This year-round home sleeps 10 (new 2021) and is fully furnished. The property includes ninety feet of pier available for guest boats. Walk right outside to the piers - no stairs up and down from the water. A great location for a vacation on the lake. Bring your own Kayak and enter the bay from our pier. If you need a boat, make your boat rentals early with one of the local companies as they tend to run out quickly. We offer discounts for monthly or extended stays. We also honor some two-day rentals.

We had a great time! It was so fun to rent a pontoon and have it right outside our door.The owner was very helpful and easily available. I really appreciated his quick responses. He provided great supplies - TP, dish soap, hand soap etc. But not towels. Beds were decent though the one bunk squeaked with every movement and it looks like the one support leg is ready to break. The house was good - not great. It met our needs, but is in need of some further updates. It has new flooring in the kitchen, living room and two bedrooms, but the odor of a musty older lake house lingers in the old kitchen cupboards. The coach and love seat need replaced - they sink down and it’s hard to get up. The kitchen supplies are many, but mostly a variety of odds and ends. Some older and need replacing. Three major complaints we have are:1. the entry doors - they are very hard to open. Badly warped/stuck and fearful that the keys will break off as you try to unlock them. 2. We had some outlets that sparked on us when we plugged in our devices. This needs action. 3. The house is very poorly lit. It was hard to see as we played games at night. Replacing some burnt out bulbs above the dining table still didn’t help. I have to say despite the negatives mentioned, it was one of the most fun getaways we’ve had. I would recommend it with the understanding that it has it’s shortcomings. Despite these flaws we’d come back! And again can’t say enough about the owner - he was great!!

Girls time together.

The house was perfect for our group. Nice kitchen and living space to gather in the evening to visit. Loved sitting on the patio by the water to play games and socialize, boats going back-and-forth to the lake very nice. Maybe a 15 minute drive to restaurants and shopping. The manager, Brian was always quick to answer any questions or resolve any issues. We all enjoyed our stay.

Our family completely enjoyed our stay on Lake Wawasee. The house was easy to get to and located in a great location to get right out on the main lake. The home is family friendly and had everything available to meet our needs.

Not a good stay

15+ years of our YaYa sister trip and the accommodations were so much less than satisfactory. It's just business when you expect cleanliness when you open your home to others. The statement Please no shoes in the house was a joke...the carpet appeared to be spotted with dirt and an area of what appeared to be mouse feces. It was very disturbing that there were no blinds on the one portion of the living area and kitchen to the front. I did not sleep under the quilt and neither did two of my other sisters...I always travel with a sleeping bag and blanket....the other sister who folded her quilt on the bottom of her bed..discovered a disturbing stain on the underside..appeared to be old blood..perhaps something else. One evening we played our own game at the kitchen table and the lighting was very poor. I will submit, by email to the owner, some pictures of what we felt was not any businesses acceptable practice. Please feel free to contact me and any of my family to attest to our feedback. We loved the location...but felt uneasy touching anything in the home. Thought you needed some true feedback.

Great Property with water access

Extended family week the kids/spouse and grandkids. Focus was boating and water activities. The house does have some age as stated in other reviews but the property was clean and comfortable for our needs. House sets 30ft off of a protected channel with plenty of dock space for the boat. This made it extremely convenient for loading/unloading. Brian was great with his communication and knowledge of the area. There are a number of great bars/restaurants close to the property either by boat or car. We would stay again!

Dry and wet

When we checked in the well was not working so we had no water pressure, the temporary fix was to run a hose from the neighbors house to the rental house, which ended up being the case for all 5 days, water pressure remained low for the entire stay. Also arrived to find a note that stated remote for tv was lost and a new one would arrive in 2-3 days. A leak was found under the sink in the main bathroom when a large cup someone left to catch the water filled up and began to over flow, also lasted during the entire stay. There were no towels, beach or bath, as advertised. The owner promptly responded to all calls and texts, but believe he was trying to make the fixes in abstentia from a long distance.

Great getaway!

My family and I had a wonderful memory making time at this location! The kitchen was well stocked with everything that was needed, the bedrooms were nice and tidy as well as the living area . We enjoyed having Johnson Bay near by for tubing, knee boarding and skiing. Would recommend this property!!

Great location - and property manager

Brian was very helpful and communicated every step well. Appreciated his thoroughness. Property was a paddle board away from Johnson Bay. Perfect if you have a boat, paddle board and/or kayaks. Our kids were able to swim in the channel while being mindful of passing boats. Calm area compared to main lake body. And there is a loop around channel you can take via paddle board or kayak while avoiding the rocky main lake waters.

House was cute. 2nd bathroom not great, beds uncomfortable, lighting was bad and needs updated!! I think there is a problem with the umbrella stand if you have sand in it, as everyone's feet were getting bit up, when sitting at the outdoor table. Great access to the lake.

Could have been better

We basically enjoyed our stay at this property, however there were many things that fell quite short of expectation. Upon arriving the combination did not work to get in. The lock was seized up. We were finally able to get in and the place appeared clean however, did not smell very clean. There are many things about the place that needed attention. There was a closet door leaning against the wall needing to be rehung, the bathroom door stuck every time. They did not provide towels for the showers. The furniture was quite old and the beds were uncomfortable. During our first day of stay the owner contacted us and asked us to fix the lock as well as take out the trash cans to the curb. The owner was aware of these things prior to our visit. Considering the price it is listed for I feel they fell short of what anyone would expect for the price.

Always a breeze here. Excellent location on the lake, near the calmest bay. Sunrise in the morning but protected from the heat of the afternoon. Fully stocked kitchen, great grill to use. At the mouth of a clean channel, so we were able to cool off in the water in front of the cabin. Owner was very responsive. Would love to stay here again!

Family stay on Johnson’s Bay

We had a very positive experience, owner was helpful and quick to respond if we had any questions before or during our stay. Beautiful backyard setting in a quiet channel, but only seconds from the bay. Great dock space.
