I completely understand that being able to enjoy clear, open water is an important part of a Lake Gaston vacation. The increased aquatic vegetation this year is a lake-wide environmental issue, not something unique to my property. The Lake Gaston Association and Lake Gaston Water Safety Council are actively working with the appropriate agencies to address the unusually abundant growth of native vegetation. Unfortunately, these efforts take time and are subject to environmental and regulatory considerations. I take great pride in maintaining my home and creating a place that guests enjoy and want to return to year after year. At the same time, one of the unique aspects of lake life is that the natural environment can change from season to season and year to year. I hope my guests are able to appreciate the beauty and character of the lake while understanding that some aspects of the natural shoreline and water are simply part of the lake experience.
