This BRAND NEW 3,400 square foot home has 6 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms. There is plenty of room for large groups in this home! The vaulted ceilings on the main level immediately draw your focus through the open living room and kitchen to a wall of windows welcoming you straight out to the fully screened porch with cable rails and a panoramic view of the lake. This home has great views and there are often sightings of blue herons nearby! The boathouse/dock has plenty of room for spending time with your loved ones and enjoying the majestic sunsets that Lake Gaston has to offer. The property is equipped with 4 kayaks, a pedal boat, several types of floaties for lounging in the lake, and plenty of fishing poles. The house faces west, which makes for beautiful sunsets in all seasons.
This amazing home is conveniently located 15 minutes or less from Washburn’s Marina, Food Lion, Jenny Cakes at the Lake Bakery, Lake Gaston Coffee Company, ACE hardware, Family Dollar, Lakeside Mini-Golf, Watersview Restaurant, Gus’s Diner, and other local eateries. The home has a variety of board games, puzzles, toys for your little ones, two video game systems, a foosball table, a ping-pong table, and several yard games.
THE DETAILS:
MAIN FLOOR: This spacious home has an open floor plan with a large living room, 65 inch blue tooth capable smart TV, vaulted ceilings, and a 70 inch ceiling fan. The living room area has plenty of seating options, including a reclining leather sofa with two matching swivel recliner chairs. The living room faces a wall of large windows, which means stunning lake views! There is also a fully screened porch that spans the whole width of the home. There is ample seating in the screened porch area for relaxing, plus a dining table and chairs for meals outdoors. The kitchen area is open to the living room with an eat-in island and a separate dining table that can seat up to 12 people. The kitchen has plenty of cabinets and beautiful granite countertops. It is fully stocked if you would like to cook while you’re here. If you’re wondering if a particular item is available in the kitchen for cooking, please message us for clarification. All of the appliances are electric and stainless steel. They include a side-by-side refrigerator (with two icemakers and filtered water), microwave oven, stove, and dishwasher. There is a large pantry off of the kitchen with essentials such as salt & pepper, spices, coffee & coffee filters, non-dairy creamer, sugar, sweetener packets, cooking oil, and other condiments. There is an adjustable high chair in the home, if needed, for your infant through toddler aged child.
The large master bedroom is furnished with a king sized adjustable Tempur-pedic bed. It faces directly to the lake and has dreamy water views. The master bath features a large walk-in shower and a double sink vanity. There is a separate area for hanging clothes. The main level of the home also includes two additional bedrooms with closets. One bedroom has a queen sized bed and the other bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed. There is also a large laundry room and a full bathroom with a walk-in shower located on the main level.
LOWER LEVEL: This level features a spacious recreation/family room with a 65 inch blue tooth capable smart TV, queen sleeper sofa, love seat, and other seating. For rainy days, there is a foosball table, ping-pong table, a variety of board and card games, puzzles, an assortment of toys, Wii and X-Box 360 video game systems, and a DVD player with a variety of DVD movies.
There is also a kitchenette located on the lower level. It has a full size refrigerator (with two icemakers and filtered water), full sink, granite counter top with cabinets, coffeemaker, tea kettle, and a toaster oven.
Three additional bedrooms are also located on this level. The first bedroom has a bunk bed with a full bed on bottom, a full bed on top, and a full trundle bed! The second and third bedrooms both have queen beds. There are two additional bathrooms on the lower level. One bathroom is a Jack and Jill style between two of the bedrooms. This bathroom also has a walk in shower and a linen closet. The other bathroom has a bathtub/shower for a relaxing bath or bathing little ones. If needed, there are also extra sleeping accommodations on the lower level, which include a full size futon (in one of the Queen bedrooms), two inflatable mattresses (queen and full size), a sleeper sofa, and a mini-crib.
SCREENED PORCH: As stated previously, the main floor features a spacious fully screened porch that spans the whole width of the home. The porch has a vaulted knotty pine ceiling with three ceiling fans, and stainless cable rails overlooking the boathouse and lake. There is plenty of seating, including an area for eating. The fully screened in porch allows access to the outdoors, but keeps the pesky insects away! There are stairs that lead to the lower patio level and lake access.
LOWER PATIO: The patio, which is located off the walk-out basement, is a covered entertainment area with three ceiling fans and plenty of seating for large groups. There is also a gas grill/smoker located on the patio, along with a portable kitchen cart for food prep (located in kitchenette area). The patio area leads to the back yard and lake access. On the side of the home, there is an outdoor shower for cooling off after a fun day in the sun!
BACK YARD: The back yard has several mature trees which are perfect for relaxing in the hammocks (which are located in the boathouse) while looking at the picturesque lake views. Everyone will enjoy making s’mores and lounging around the fire pit area in the evenings. There are also plenty of yard games located in the deck box under off the patio, which include corn hole, dominoes, ladder ball, bocce ball, frisbees, football, water guns, bubble maker, and other outdoor activities.
BOATHOUSE AND DOCK: There is a four point tie off area for renters that bring their own boat to the lake. There is also plenty of area on the dock for sunbathing and spending time with your friends and family. If you would like some shade, there is an umbrella you can open on the dock. Water depth is about 6 feet right off the dock and more than 10 feet deep just a few feet further out. The water depth is great for swimming and for fishing. On the side of the home, you will find 4 kayaks for your enjoyment. There is also a pedal boat located on the patio. Several life jackets of various sizes are located in the boathouse. There is also a sea wall with beach access for launching the kayaks. The boathouse has a small refrigerator, fishing equipment (for children & adults), floaties, lounge chairs, and other water toys. There are several marinas located on the lake, such as Eaton Ferry Marina, Holly Grove Marina, and Southpointe Marina. There is also a free public boat ramp a few miles from the house. It is called the Henrico Wildlife Access boat ramp.
SAFETY & SECURITY: For the safety of our renters, we have several security features included in the home. There are smoke detectors located throughout the home along with a fire extinguisher and fire blanket on each floor. Located on the front and back of the home are motion activated flood lights for nighttime hours. There are also several flashlights located in the pantry. On the outside of the home are two security cameras. One is located on the front porch with coverage of the porch and parking area. The other camera is on the lakeside of the home with coverage from the base of the stairs into backyard. Please be assured there are no security cameras located inside the home.
NOT PROVIDED: paper plates, napkins, storage bags, aluminum foil, cling wrap and toiletries
PROVIDED: Linens, bath towels, and beach towels. A reasonable amount of dish and laundry detergent will be provided. Two rolls of paper towels and 2 toilet paper rolls (per bathroom) will also be provided.
THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO PETS ALLOWED AND THIS IS A NON-SMOKING HOME.
**PLEASE NOTE: A damage deposit of $500 is required. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent, however, it is fully refundable and done so automatically within (7) days after departure, provided the following provisions are met:
A. No damage is done to the home or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear, and the home and all of its furnishings are kept in good order (to include the boathouse and its’ contents).
B. No charges are incurred due to missing items, pets, or collection of rent or services rendered during the stay.
C. All trash, debris, rubbish and discards are placed in outside trash can and left at street for pick up.
D. All dirty dishes are placed in the dishwasher.
E. Home is left locked on BOTH levels.
F. All charges (if any) accrued during the stay are paid prior to departure.
G. No linens/towels are lost or damaged.
H. No early check-in or late check-out (unless agreed upon and placed in the rental contract)
I. The renter is not evicted by the owner (or representative of the owner)
