Sol Y Mar, a charming second-level private penthouse villa, nestled between a vibrant collection of favorite eateries, bars, branch style bakeries and the lapping turquoise waters of Simpson Bay ā€“ the heartbeat of the Dutch side. As the saying goes, ā€œlocation, location, locationā€ and Sol Y Mar certainly fits that criteria. This 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom top-level penthouse sits directly on Kim Sha Beach and is minutesā€™ away from Simpson Bay Beach, Mullet Bay and the infamous Sunset Beach Bar. (About 20 stairs to access unit)

The spacious living and dining area is tastefully furnished with a Caribbean flair and opens onto the seaside terrace area with private pool. A convenient and open kitchen was made for socialising and features modern appliances.

Enjoy breakfast on the seaside patio while taking in the view of the blue waters and tropical palm trees as there are several outdoor spaces from which you can choose from.

The penthouse features three individually decorated bedroom suites, each with en-suite bathrooms. Two bedrooms offer a king size bed and the third bedroom offers two queen beds and will comfortably sleep up to 8 guests. Children are welcome here, making it an ideal location for families. All bedrooms offer air conditioning, ceiling fan, cable TV, in-room safe and ample storage space.

Wonderful trip

Bedrooms were large with very nice bathrooms. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking. Washer and dryer was a plus!!! Balcony and pool had a great view. It was awesome to have some food in the fridge when we arrived. 10/10. We will book again!!!

The property is just as described, clean and well maintained, and the ladies at IRE Vacations who manage this place are absolutely a dream to work with.Every single question, or request, is met with friendliness and utmost cooperation. This villa is close to many restaurants and nightlife, grocery store within walking, and also a convenience store right across the street. The views of yachts coming and going from your patio, the private small pool in another outdoor patio....the list is endless. We fell in love with this place, as did many of our Canadian friends who come to visit us while on the island. As long as it remains available,,we would not even think of staying anywhere else. In our opinion, its a 5 star Plus. I cannot say enough good things about the team at IRE Vacations. It is so nice to be able to converse with a team of pros who always take the time to answer whatever questions you have. We LOVE the place, and will be back again.

Great location and beautiful property

We loved our stay and enjoyed how everything was so close. Perfect for any family or friendā€™s getaway. Everything was wonderful. The only thing we experienced that was not so great was the WiFi and we werenā€™t able to get the TVā€™s working. We didnā€™t miss it much since we were out and about during the day and in the evening we enjoyed the ambiance and each other. Overall we gave it a 10.

Sol Y Mar Is Awesome!!

The penthouse location was great. Everything was within walking distance: supermarket, restaurants, water sports, etc. Sol Y Mar was an exceptional place to stay with a great kitchen, comfortable beds, a nice pool, and beautiful views. We will be back, hopefully very soon!

Great stay in Simpson Bay

My family and I had a wonderful time at this property. Cathy and the IRE team were so communicative and helpful. We took their recommendation for a chef for two nights, which was amazing. The location is walkable and convenient to groceries and many restaurants. It can get loud at night with music from nearby bars/clubs, but otherwise outstanding time here. Thank you IRE!

You are within walking distance of a market and hey take your suitcase to haul your groceries back in thatā€™s what our guys did šŸ˜‚ There are several restaurants within walking distance, but the best one is right below you at The Greenhouse !! I have been coming to the island for years so was very familiar with this area so already knew it was a perfect location close to many amazing restaurants and activities. The villa was spacious, clean and well equipped. The owners and caretakers were extremely responsive and kind. The villa had everything we needed and more! We had 7 of us stay there and we all had plenty of our own space, lots of shared common space both inside and out. We also really enjoyed having our own private pool. Highly recommend this place to anyone!

Perfect!!

Sol y Mar was the perfect place for our vacation to St. Martin! The beach is only 20 steps from the front door, the inside space is huge and the outdoor space with the pool is amazing! The kitchen has all the pots/pans/cups/utensils that you will need and bathrooms are stocked with soap, shampoo, shower gel, etc. and lots of towels for showers as well as numerous beach towels. Maia and Cathy from IRE were extremely helpful before and during our trip. Huge thanks to them. You will not be disappointed if you decide to stay at this property!

The actual penthouse apartment is absolutely beautiful. we were 8 adults. We have been to SXM several times but this was probably one of our best stays yet. Maia at IRE was excellent to deal with. Everything went smooth. The outside sitting areas are lovely in the villa. But,,,location is just about the best on the island. We have always loved the Simpson Bay area,,with so many places to eat, dance, etc within walking. I would highly recommend this place for a wonderful, clean, safe place to stay. Parking was avail. Only one suggestion is to have TV's in bedroom, as stated in advertisement for the villa. There was only one tv in the main living room. Other than that, everything was excellent.

A Must Stay in Simpson Bay

This was our 3rd time vacationing in St. Martin. Each time we have stayed at a VRBO and this was by far the best place and experience. The communication with IRE Vacation Rentals was amazing from booking, leading up to the trip and during our stay. The location of the condo can't be beat! We love the Buccaneer Beach Bar, so when we found this place next to it, we had to try it and it did not disappoint! Cathy met us at the condo for check in, gave us a tour of the condo and explained everything. Cecilia, the cleaning person, was so sweet and did an amazing job cleaning up the place during our stay. The location is central to everything! We were able to walk to restaurants, the grocery store and catch the bus when we didn't need a taxi to nearby locations. The condo was very clean, beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of space for the 6 of us to spread out and even entertain our friends who were staying at a nearby resort. The kitchen was well stocked and IRE provided some staples to get us through until we got to the grocery store, which I thought was a nice touch. The private pool was definitely a refreshing break from the beach. I can't say enough good things about this condo and we are already planning to stay here again during our next trip to the island. Thank you IRE staff for making this such an enjoyable experience.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sol Y Mar was the perfect rental for our vacation. We had 6 adults and 2 children (3 & 1). The unit layout provided everyone with necessary privacy and also allowed us to feel together as a family. The kitchen was well stocked, the location was unbeatable, and the staff was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed Green House Restaurant directly downstairs. Super convenient! We also frequented Buccaneer Beach Bar and enjoyed ourselves. A few things I feel worth mentioning... the noise from outside establishments can get loud (which didn't bother us- we used sound machines to drown it out). We were planning on using the crib for our 1 year old, however we did find the crib to be in poor condition and the mattress was significantly stained. BUT, due to the location and amenities you might not want to leave. Overall this was a fabulous unit. We will 100% never look elsewhere for a rental. This was amazing and we are already looking forward to returning!

Private pool was amazing to come back to after a long day of island exploring. Beautiful sunrises from the ocean can be seen from the balcony. Our family loved the options this home provided to spread out & all to have our own space, together. The private parking spot in a busy area like this was a big win also! Nightly music could be enjoyed in the rooftop pool without having to leave the rental but wasnā€™t too loud to allow for early bedtime either. I almost hate to share how great this place is & let the secret out since we want to go back & want it available. We will be back!
