Great little house. It was perfect for my wife and me. Location was great. I worried about the noise factor due to the location on Main Street, but it was extremely quiet. Highly recommend.

Loved it!

Everything was wonderful! Quiet, private and clean and the bed was so Comfortable! Recommend for couples, a girls weekend or group of adults.

The Half Penny Cottage #9

We entered the cottage that was lovely and clean. The pictures provided were accurate. The property was located on Main Street far enough away to be nice and quiet, but close enough to the shops in Fredericksburg. We spent the days shopping and returned to the cottage for a peaceful nights sleep. If you are planning a trip to Fredricksburg, I recommend the Main Street Retreat - Half Penny Cottage.

Charming

What an adorable cottage! Clean, convenient, easy access! Management is 5 stars! Hot tub was a huge plus, we did a lot of walking! I recommend and will be returning!

Misleading or False advertisement

It all was a great place especially our friends room #3 was great! Our Room #9 was not what it said to be! We were looking forward to soak in the bathtub it said it had and was a shower instead with dead crickets in it and spider webs and spiders in bathroom. Electrical out didn’t work in bathroom either

Main Street retreat

We stayed last summer at this retreat so we decided to stay again this past weekend. However the AC seemed like it was not cooling well. I spoke to other guest at the pool area and they said the same. I have always have had great experiences with absolute charm this time a little disappointing and NO breakfast voucher given this round either.

Great place to stay, and very cozy

Me and my wife went here for our honeymoon, it is a little bit of a walk all over Fredericksburg but the stay was not too far from Main street. I still recommend some comfortable shoes and we did love it being a quiet stay without kids or super loud music. 10 out of 10

Half Penny Cottage #9

First, let me state that the property was nice, Absolute Charm staff are incredible as we spoke a few times prior to arrival. We came with a group of 5 couples and the other cottages were nice. Regrettably, we were in a cottage that needs some updating and a good cleaning. The smell was old and musty making it unpleasant to be inside. There were a few other issues therefore I would not recommend this particular cottage.

Comfy and charming

We enjoyed our stay at the Half Penny. The cottage was comfy. The bed was very comfortable. Only downsides - the shower knob was broken but still worked and the coffee maker took some time to brew. It was a bit of a walk to downtown - not as close as we thought. We loved sitting in the recliners in front of the electric fireplace sipping wine in the evenings.

Very Good

I thought the rooms were really cute. It was unfortunate that our water heater didn't work and we had to change rooms. I think they should've cleaned a little better in the bathrooms but otherwise it was a great experience. I would love to go again.

Wonderful Retreat

We loved our little Half Penny cottage. It was so beautiful and the extra touches of making it feel so homey and festive for the Christmas season was a plus. The bed was so comfortable and relaxing. We enjoyed the fireplace at night, after relaxing in the hot tub. We would definitely return and highly recommend these quaint little cottages.

Quaint, but not what we expected.

My husband and I spent one night at this property for our anniversary. The location is great and is walking distance to everything on Main Street. The cottage was cozy and clean. However, beyond that our experience was not a positive one. Shortly after arriving we realized that the fireplace didn't work. We contacted the rental office and they stated they would send housekeeping with new batteries for the remote, but no one showed up. Not a huge deal but disappointing. After returning from dinner we discovered that we had no hot water. I immediately called the rental office to report the issue and was directed by the voice recording to contact another number. I contacted the alternate number only to receive another voice mail. After three attempts, I gave up. We woke in the middle of the night to a warm, stuffy room and discovered that the wall AC unit was not working. Upon check-out, I emailed the rental office to let them know about the issues we encountered. I asked for nothing. No apology. No refund or discount of any kind. However, I was met with a barrage of emails questioning whether we called the office, if so when, and could we provide the times of our calls (which I immediately provided). Then crickets. In summary, we were not able to use the fireplace. The AC didn't work and we had no hot water. They did confirm that the hot water system is shared. So, if your neighbor uses all the hot water you're out of luck.

The cabin was nice and clean and super quiet. Parking was great and it was super close to all the downtown shopping places. Check in was easy as well as checkout.
