The Quailhouse is located on a rural working Ranch in Avila Valley, San Luis Obispo. Avila Beach and downtown San Luis Obispo are just a 5 minute drive away. You are centrally located for enjoying the beautiful Central Coast. Nearby are hiking/biking trails, beaches, wineries and restaurants. We provide locally sourced, environmentally friendly amenities for relaxing in your peaceful and private space.

Down a short dirt driveway, yet easy to access from the main road - park just outside the quaint one bedroom, one bath guesthouse and cruise into a furnished garden space with views of the wildlife filled canyon. Inside you’ll find the open, bright and airy kitchenette that is equipped for all your needs. Enjoy locally roasted Coffee while relaxing at the vintage dining set. The light filled living room is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. The couch also doubles as a full size bed for extra guests.

Just through the living/dining area is a spacious bedroom featuring a plush king bed with environmentally conscious linens, mood lighting and a laptop friendly work desk. Adjoining the bedroom is a cozy bathroom with a small corner shower and includes a hairdryer, eco towels and locally crafted amenities.

Please Note: Wi-fi is available - it can be unreliable at times. Although we welcome all guests up to 3, our house is best suited for two guests, or guests with children as it can be a small space inside to accommodate more that two. The Quailhouse is a space to unwind, relax and enjoy your quiet country getaway under the stars.

Amenities of interest: Indoor and outdoor games, furnished patio, locally crafted products & coffee, Bose bluetooth speaker, ironing board and iron, books, work desk, luggage rack and a space to hang your clothes. Enjoy relaxing and reconnecting without a TV - WIFI is available however,

**The Cleaning Fee covers a professional deep clean for each reservation - this includes implementing recommended CDC protocol & products to first clean, then disinfect surfaces of the home.

NOTE: A Signed Rental Agreement is required to confirm your booking (sent with inquiry)

Relaxing stay!

This is one of the best home away from homes I’ve ever stayed at. I loved the modern farmhouse vibe and the personal touches left for us by our host. I will definitely be staying here again!

Lovely home in private setting provides relaxing getaway

The house is extremely clean and well stocked with everything you need for a quiet, peaceful, getaway. Location is great, 10 minutes to downtown SLO and Pismo Beach, minutes from Avila Beach. You’ll feel far away and removed, yet close to all the fun activities and excellent cuisine. We’ll be back!

The place was very clean, cozy, and welcoming. Great light, quiet, out of town. Perfectly located right by a freeway while never noticing it was there. Quick access to Shell Beach, Avila Beach, and SLO. Never took more than 10 min to get to our destination. Superb! Would stay again!

Wonderful property in San Luis Obisbo!

My husband and I enjoyed this property very much! It is in a nice location very close to everything we hoped to see in the area, Pismo, Avila, Cambria, yet away from the crowds for quiet evening wine and dinner and morning coffee on the private patio. The property itself is set up so well as others have noted. It is spotless, organized and comfortable. VRBO owners could take a class from Hillary on her design and her commitment to providing an excellent experience to her guests:) The bedding was comfortable, we slept great. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. We loved the patio so much as well as the lovely chickens that came to visit us each day. We hope to visit this area again, we would not hesitate to recommend this property. Thank you Hillary & Family!

Beautiful property and great location

This beautiful cottage is located near the freeway with quick access to Avila, Pismo Beach and SLO. We had the pleasure of visits from deers and chickens! The drinks, snacks and personalized bottle of wine sure was a nice touch too.

The cutest lil’ California vrbo

We really loved our stay here! We came to town for a wedding at the Madonna inn and spent a lot of time there. We needed a serene space for our small family to relax in and this was absolutely perfect. We kept saying how magical it all was. The weather was perfect, the settings were amazing, the design was so good! I felt like I was right at home.

Refreshing Getaway

This place was so welcoming as you passed through the gates and entered the property and house. All of our senses were satisfied (sound, smell, touch, taste and sight). Loved all the added touches, so close to everything and the weather was in the 60s.

BFF Getaway Weekend

My best friend and I got exactly what we'd hoped for - a quiet retreat together that also had easy access to Cal Poly, where my son goes to school. The Quail House was perfect. Quick to the freeway, yet out of the busy bustle of SLO. The kitchen was well stocked, so we were able to eat most of our meals in. Everything was clean and well appointed, with lots of nice touches. The bedroom was spacious with a comfortable king size bed. Nice bathroom, too, although the shower was on the small side - which was okay because we are both small women. Our host, Hillary, was easy to reach when I initially didn't have the access code for the gate. We loved the chickens and roosters. It was a wonderful weekend and we'd definitely come back to stay again.

Perfect SLO getaway

The SLO ranch getaway was just fit the bill for my husband and myself. The whole living space was much roomier than I imagined. King size bed comfy, kitchen just right for our breakfasts, outside patio perfect for enjoying the warm weather and clear night skies. Location was great for exploring SLO and its surroundings. I highly recommend this property if you plan to visit SLO.

Quaint and Quiet Getaway

Cute property at the back of the owners property. The pictures do tell the story. They have thought of everything and included it here. The key things you will need for your stay and some fun things like corn hole, lawn chairs and a few farm animals. Great location between Pismo, Avila and SLO. We will be back!
