No matter what time of year you're vacationing, you will love the beautifully manicured path to the water and the natural stone seating, perfect for casting a line! Enjoy the hot tub or sit by the fire pit while you observe wildlife, or take advantage of the private dock and your own personal gravel put-in, right beside the home. Bring your own boat, or rent one from Alarka Marina, about a mile away.

**Lake levels fluctuate throughout the year. Even with lowered lake levels, fishing is not compromised and public access ramps are open all year, however, direct access from this property may be minimal during these months.

Beautiful property and place, hot tub works great and was very thoroughly cleaned! Easy to drive to in a small car and the views were amazing! Nothing bad about this place to say! I will like to say the cleaning fee verses the actual cleanliness was a little overpriced, as soon as we arrived my husband immediately slipped on the back stairway/stone path between the deck and the hot tub. Not from any rain or weather but The deck is super slick and maybe needs a good pressure washing. I also had to clean out the k cup machine and wash our dishes before using them, which is no big deal considering I do that anyways. But my husbands fall was major & honestly couldā€™ve been prevented. He came home with a softball sized, very nasty bruise to his lower back. Heā€™s okay, heā€™s tough, but my point is simply for the cleaning fee, I wouldā€™ve expected the exterior walkways to have been sprayed off and cleaner. The first night, the chlorine scent was so strong we couldnā€™t stay in the hot tub long at all but I understand and at least I know it was sanitized lol overall the owners/rental agency were great with communication, no complaints about them at all, also to note nobody was contacted about my husbands fall as there was nothing we couldā€™ve expected from them but I feel as though if we had called they wouldā€™ve done anything they could to accommodate. We enjoyed our thanksgiving holiday overall & look forward to visiting again!

Loved this place for a weekend getaway! Sounds of the creek by the fire pit, upstairs bed is super comfy. Quick 15 minute drive into Bryson city. Will definitely be back! Only quarrel is that the coffee maker was not good. Ha.

Cabin at Larka Creek

Property need some upgrading. Near fire pit was falling in. We could not get our boat across the narrow bridge coming into the property. The owner told us it would be no problem using their ramp but not being able to get to the property with the boat did not help at all. We were from Friday night until Tuesday without internet. No fault of the owner but still in a bad place for an emergency. The house was prettty nice, clean, everything worked. Trash was a bit complicated for staying an entire week. Perhaps a bin of somesort to place trash in, of course bear proof. The owners did communicate very well with us. It was a good time with family. Thank Goodness for Matt and staff, at Larka Marina. They were very helpful to us. We were able to get our boat up to the owners dock which was very helpful on our 4 trips down to the Lake.

Wonderdul getaway!

We stayed here as we wanted a quite cabin on the water and near kake Fontana. We had two wonderful meals, great quite eveningsbsitting on the deck in the latebevening and the woods came alive with Frogs and crickets. We could hardly hear each other talk. We rented a nice pontoon boat from the Alarka Marina just an 1/8th of a mile away and crusied the lake for 8 hrs. Amazing. The staff was great. Very enjoyable!

Disappointed

House was clean, comfortable, with basic supplies, wifi/tv worked well, hot tub was clean and well maintained, House not on lake but on a creek that feeds the lake, water had been let down so basically a mud hole remained, could not use the dock sitting since on the ground, no swimming or fishing since the lake was gone well before they said it would be lowered, should have booked a house on the main body of the lake, would not recommen or return

Amazing cabin!

The cabin was absolutely perfect for our family! The location was amazing, and the cabin and grounds were beautiful! May need to add some more daily essentials in the kitchen such as pans, coasters, etc. We had a great time and would definitely stay at this cabin again.

Senior Graduation Trip

Location was perfect, and secluded. Enjoyed the peace of the woods and lake. Did some whitewater as well as tubing. Perfect location and center to get out and do everything the mountains has to offer.

Kingfisher Roost

Our stay was amazing. The house is the last one on a quiet gravel road so it was quiet and felt private even with the road across the lake. The view from the house never got old and we didn't want to leave. One word of warning to future renters with boats: The "boat ramp" is for kayaks only. The listing is disingenous at best when they advertise a boat ramp. We went at full pool and the bottom of the ramp is too shallow to launch a boat. I also wouldnt take anything larger than 18' because you wont be able to turn around your trailer and you dont want to have to back your rig up that narrow road. You can launch at Alarka for free but they do not have trailer parking.

The Perfect Setting

We really hated to leave Kingfisher's Roost. The cabin with the stream running by was as perfect as you can get. Peaceful, serene but close to activities. Clean, beautiful view and decor. I loved the artwork. The deck at night with lights was magical! We can't wait to come back!!

Nice place, would consider again

Overall, home was nice and convenient to the parks. Was a little weird that the up stairs bathroom had miniblinds, but the downstairs had no covering. Also no coverings on any of the windows face the neighbors building so they could see right in. Found out about the lake draining after booking, but really liked the river (would recommend adding that to the description of the property). Overall a good place we would consider again if back in the area. Just felt like the fees were high for what you got especially due to the requests for doing precleaning before checkout (which many of these type rentals are getting that way).
