In beautiful unspoiled Imperial Beach lies an 15 minutes from downtown San Diego but you might as well be an ocean away. Imperial Beach is quite possibly the last undiscovered beach town in California. Just south of the crowds and chaos of Coronado, this spacious, quiet condo provides you with easy access to peaceful beaches, beautiful sunsets and the simple opportunity to unwind. Literally less than 50 steps to the sand and water, this 2000 square foot home is not a party condo, but a wonderfully appointed retreat for families and groups looking to get away to the warmth of sun and sand with out paying huge luxury hotel bills! It is located on the 2nd floor with a full loft on the third floor.

This home offers 4 full bedrooms and if you stay once, you’ll want to come back to this same location. The kitchen is well appointed, the rooms are comfortable and roomy, the living room has space for everyone to meet and share. Four bedrooms are equipped with a T.V.s Wireless Internet access is also included. The Kitchen is fully equipped with a large refrigerator (ice maker and cold water dispenser), gas range with convection ovens in both sttove and microwave, 5 burner stove top, toaster oven, dishwasher, coffee maker and Vitamix blender.

We are 8 blocks from the grocery store and pharmacy, 1/2 blocks from the ice cream shop, 1 block from Pier South Resort . Located inside of the Piersouth Resort is our beautiful D'ames Spa where you will enjoy your relaxing massages and facials you can also add waxing to your services. Also inside of the hotel is Sammy's Wood Fire Pizza, Toasters and Sushi, 1 1/2 is The Brigantine Seafood restaurant with great happy hours, 2 blocks is the Imperial Beach wooden pier and the famous Tin Fish eatery to enjoy a variety of fish tacos and a pleasant walk to the Tijuana Wildlife Refuge and Estuary, a RAMSAR site and one of the foremost reserves in California, with its hiking and biking trails.

Imperial Beach offers easy access to San Diego – we are 25 minutes drive from Knott’s Soak City, 20 minutes to the famous San Diego Zoo, 20 minutes to Sea World, 20 minutes to the airport, 10 minutes to Mexico and 1 minute to the beach! While the pictures tell much of the story, this condo is just next door to Katy's Cafe' the more popular cafe in town famous for their biscuits and gravy. Our beaches are well kept, clean and not over crowded. People of Imperial Beach are friendly and lyed back and they welcome you to enjoy their little piece of paradise.

Christine was a great host! The condo was clean and well stocked. The beds were comfy and you’re just a few steps to the beach. She provides beach chairs and towels and there’s some great restaurants within walking distance. The electric car charger was a game changer and much appreciated!!

Great location!

Christine was awesome! She checked in on us periodically but was not intrusive.Pros: Great location, comfortable bedsCons: Never mentioned in listing that this was upstairs. Several tripping hazards (runners on stairs not secured and area rugs with corners turned up). Food was left in the refrigerator, dirty dishes left in the dishwasher, and dusty furniture made for an unwelcome start. The living room furniture did not seat 4 comfortably. There was no booklet or instruction sheet left as is the case with all other VRBO rentals.Still all in all, we had a very good time.

beautiful place

We had a fantastic experience at this condo over a 3 day stay. The accommodations were perfect and as advertised. A short walk to the beach and the owner provided everything needed for playing in the sand and water. This part of CA has lots of wild life; we saw many dolphins, sea lions, and pelicans each day. Highly recommend it.

3 adults, 3 kids visiting from Connecticut all loved this place. It's so close to the beach and a convenient location. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need and more. There are large screen smart tvs in every room. Large washer dryer. There is plenty of space for anyone to have privacy and relax. The host is friendly and checked in to be sure all is well. Truly feels like home. We will be back!

Nice location

The owner was most gracious and accommodating. We appreciated that the cupboards and refrigerator were not stripped bare and there were basics such as salt, pepper, sugar, flour etc. Our party were all seniors and the stairs moving in were a bit challenging, but otherwise it was a perfect location in a quiet area near the beach. It was in walking distance of a variety of restaurants and parking was easy. We were able to commute to Balboa Park, San Diego Safari Park and La Jolla fairly easily, but were always happy to get back to our quiet, uncongested nest at the end of the day. We enjoyed the outdoor balcony on warm afternoons. Thank you for a relaxing week with family, Christine! The GA, MN, CA Goebels

Overall a good place

Overall we really liked this place. The location near the beach CANNOT be beat. Imperial beach is beautiful and quaint. The place itself is large and has everything you need-- comfortable beds and well laid out kitchen. There were just a lot of little things that added up that prevent me from giving the place 5 stars. First was getting there. The street and address are easy to find but access to the condo itself was not straight forward. There are businesses in the front and all the units look the same from the back. A little more detailed explanation from the owner ahead of time would have been appreciated especially when you are a tired traveler. Other minor issues were there was no hand soap in any bathrooms or kitchen and it is just nice to be able to wash your hands. We also had issues figuring out the light switches. A lot of the light switches and fixtures did not work and the lights we were able to use made for a few dim suppers in the dining room. All in all these are small things and I would still recommend the place and stay there again. However we use a lot of VRBOs so we have lots to compare to and this was just fell a little short.

Great location but…

I’ve stayed at several VRBO properties, most beachfront. This was my first not-so-great experience. Pros: Fantastic location! Easy to get to anywhere by car. It usually took me 15 minutes to get downtown. We’re bird watchers and hikers so being able to walk to the Estuary was really great. Open layout of the kitchen/dining/living room and deck make for a really big area for a large group. The kitchen has lots of counter space and seating. (Be aware all the windows and deck face inland, though) Nice bedrooms - the loft bdrm is really spacious and has a private bathrm. Cons: Not clean. Towels are stained and some shredding. Some hand towels appeared to not have been washed since used last. Something splattered down one of the bathroom walls. Several stains on the couch and the cracks between the couch pads were full of food crumbs. Kitchen utensil drawers dirty with crumbs and food spills. Ceiling fans so dusty we didn’t dare turn them on. Electric teapot had water in it from last use. Dishes in the cupboards needed to be rewashed. A leaf from a fake plant stuffed in the ice maker. Poor communication/unclear instructions: Very little for check-in instructions beyond “owner will meet you at the property.” The owner did not meet us at the property. When I inquired, they gave me a garage door code. I was confused so asked if our parking space was in the garage. The answer I received: “ is all alriggt”. I’m used to a binder or paper posted on the refrigerator or left out on the counter with helpful instructions about the house - What is ok to use, what is not, where to find important items, etc. There was nothing. It took us two days to find the keys for the front door. We were told to take out the garbage at checkout. No problem… but take it out WHERE? We walked our recycling to the beach to put it in the city containers. Pretty sure our landfill waste was put in someone else’s container - not sure. The beach was closed the entire week due to sewage contaminated water. Obviously out of the owner’s hands, but a heads-up would have been nice. Low water pressure in all the showers. Slow Wifi - we ended up using my hotspot the entire week and watching tv/movies on our IPads because the TV would continually freeze up. Not a con for us, but just a heads-up: There are a lot of stairs. Three full sets of stairs. From the garage to the main floor, the front door to main floor, and main floor to the loft bedroom.

Nice property close to beach

Nice and clean and spacious townhouse unit for our family of four adults and four children. Good outside parking space immediately outside the garage of the property, belonging to the property, for one car all the time and most of the time for an additional car. Garage has washer and dryer and beach chairs for guest use. Property has all items typically needed for vacationers (such as good cooking utilities in kitchen, towels in bathrooms, etc.), and beach towels. The beds and bedding in each bedroom are nice and comfortable. The house has nice decorations, like fragile art pieces on the kitchen table and coffee table, and on the night stands. So families with small children might want to put these items away in safe places beforehand. Artwork hanging from the walls may not be suitable for families with small children. Be aware that the kitchen table, though perhaps a nice antique, is fragile and wobbly. The coffee table is likewise wobbly and fragile. Both tables need repair or they will soon fall apart with normal use. That said, all in all, we had a very enjoyable 10-day stay in this very nice VRBO in Imperial Beach, a short walking distance to the beach, pier, in downtown Imperial Beach, with all the quaint restaurants and beach town shopping. Another plus is that it’s only about 10 to 20 minutes away from nice beaches and shopping in downtown Coronado.

Great Stay Sea Esta

We travel annually to Imperial Beach. This year we had invited Grandma, family, and a Close friend and his little family to travel with us. This Condo provided a great place for us all to stay together. The location was great. Walking distance to the beach, parks, and so many restaurants. Katy's is one of our favorites and it was great having it just down the stairs and next door. Each family was able to have their own space, and yet we were still able to comfortably congregate in the Living area. Christine had made sure to stock the condo well. There were plenty of supplies to keep the place tidy over the week. We made good use of all the beach toys/chairs/towels. It was great not to have to pack that stuff as well this year. Not one of us had an uncomfortable bed. And Grandma wanted to take the pillow from her bed with her. ;) The baby gates were a great help to relieve some of the stress of little ones and the stairs. Parking our second car was a bit tricky since there is only one parking space, but we made do. Some of the decor seemed a little impractical, but that's just a personal opinion. We had family staying down the street who were very jealous of our place when we described it to them. We will definitely keep this place in mind when we book for next Fall.

Annual girls trip

Lovely property very close to beach and in fun area. Unable to reach property owner when attempted to contact by phone on three separate occupations. Smoke alarm went off when cooking bacon and there was no reason for it to happen. We attempted to call and it went to a voice message. We had to fix the alarm ourselves. Also we had to bleach and wash all towels ourselves which I found odd before we left. It was a nice area however at 400 a night we would have enjoyed better communication with our host.

Great beach location!

Enjoyed our stay near the beach. Quick walk away from beach, great restaurants and surf shop. Right downstairs was a fantastic coffee shop Katy's that we enjoyed every morning. The host lives right below the apartment and texted me the first day about our young kids, ages 2 & 3, that were excited and running across the floor making too much noise. So maybe not for young kids??? Other than that it was amazing and we loved it.

The Perfect Beach Getaway

This condo is clean and comfortable. It is steps away from the beach. The perfect location! Across the street from an amazing pizza joint and next door to a coffee and smoothie store. The condo had everything you will need for your stay. Beach chairs, boogie boards and even beach towels. The bathrooms were unbelievable clean and had plenty of extra towels. Our families had a wonderful week there. Thank you so much!

Family reunion for celebrating mom's 90th birthday

The condo/house was perfect for our family which included two of my kids, their spouses and babies. The unit is very well appointed and Christine was wonderful in quickly responding to our inquires and helping make our trip extremely enjoyable. The ocean is right out the back door and there are several shops and restaurants within in few blocks. I highly recommend the unit.

I have a beautiful daughter that lives in Colorado with her 2 wonderful sons. We always reserve a week in the summer for them to visit Mom and enjoy the ocean.
