Wiggins River Retreat #5 on the River

Wiggins River Retreat Cabin #5 is a 3 bedroom 2 bath cabin that sleeps 6 comfortably in 3 Queen size beds.  The River Retreat Cabin is located steps away from the river and offers guests quick access to the river and close proximity to the downtown area for restaurants, shopping, and the Red River Ski Area.  



Wiggins River Retreat Cabin offers guests a well-appointed kitchen and is both handicap friendly and pet friendly. This property accepts two dogs under 100 lbs., with a $125 nonrefundable pet fee, due at the time of check in.



Wiggins River Retreat Cabin has a firestick for streaming. There are DVD players in the property and a selection of movies at the property for your use.

This property is perfect for those that work remotely because it has high speed wifi.

All reservations are subject to our rental terms and conditions and cancellation/refund policy. In the event of a cancelation, merchant service charges are non-refundable. If you have any questions, please reach out prior to your stay.



**Please note that during the fall of 2024 and spring/summer of 2025 the town of Red River will be replacing waterlines. Their normal working hours are from 7am-5pm Monday-Friday; however, there might be times that they have to conduct work during the weekends. You can expect traffic distributions and temporary water outrages while they are working. Please note that on-street residential parking might not be available during construction. During these times, access to Red River and Pioneer Creek recreational area might be reduced or diverted. Please be aware that any construction or town activity is not in our control. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Nice place to stay

Nice place to accommodate up to 8 people. Easy drive into main part of town - probably even bike-able. Has very nice view from front porch, too. I could see it being a little tight for 8 adults, but with part of our group of 8 being kids, it worked well.

Family ski vacation

We enjoyed the cabin and the location. Few comments, there is very little cabinet or storage space so it is hard for cooking and sitting anything you bring to the cabin. The most disappointing thing was the TV in the main living room. It was streaming only, so if you do not have Netflix or Sling TV you can not watch anything. This should be noted on the Cabin description when people view to book. The beds are also very hard. Our vacation was great overall.

Thanksgiving Break

We enjoyed our week in this cabin….what time we spent there anyways!! The only problem was the TV’s upstairs only had DVD players and I forgot DVD’s and never found any on site, but it was fine we had fun playing games together!

Bathroom dirty

The upstairs bathroom was not clean especially for being charged a large cleaning fee with each stay. There was a lot of hair on the floor and tub. I hope you are not paying someone to clean as they aren’t doing a very good job. Also no mops or cleaning supplies could be found to keep it clean while staying. Shower head needs to be replaced. The cabin itself was good. It does advertise 3 televisions but the two upstairs were not connected to anything and without internet we couldn’t even use Netflix etc. That is okay, but had we known, could have brought DVD’s with us. We also noticed the grill was cheap and not even big enough to cook for a cabin that advertises it sleeps 8. The other units all had larger nice gas grills. It was clear that there was no internet but my daughter had to sit in my car-that does have internet to do her online courses. It really does need a broom and shovel to help keep the entrance clean and snow off the porch as not to track it in.

Cozy cabin

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Turns out we had the best luck fishing right outside the cabin! The only minor complaint I have is that the bed in the downstairs bedroom was very hard. Other than that, it's a very nice little cabin!

JUNK ! DO NOT STAY - RUN

The property pictures were beautiful the location was advertised as near a river. However, the following items are why I recommend you never stay at the Wiggins number five cabin or book through Vacations Unlimited in red River. -I asked for a reduction in rate based on all the problems and miss leading information for the cabin, but was never given an answer. I was given an option for a total refund but no other options were given for me to stay anywhere in red river or with a vacations unlimited property. -The cabin is right next to the busiest highway in town. -The foundation is noticeably leaning towards the river. I put an egg on the kitchen countertop and it rolled on to the floor. The foundation problems have also caused the lower bathroom doors not to shut. - There were no privacy locks on the bedrooms or bathrooms when I requested that they be repaired I was told this was because the owner had problems with people breaking doors. - The kitchen sink continue to leak from the dishwasher drain. Yes, nasty water collecting in a pitcher when we moved in. I made it clear to management what was happening but it was never fixed. - The description of the property showed a washing machine but there is no washer or dryer in the cabin when I brought this to the attention of the management team I was told this was a problem with VRBO. - The downstairs shower was leaking onto the wood floor pieces were coming up I’m sure there was mold and mildew in the whole floor due to the continuous leak from the ADA shower.

Thank you for your comments however, I would like to clarify a few things that seem to be incorrect. You are correct in that the cabin is located between the road and stream and that the owner has removed the locks on the bedroom and bathroom doors because he has had a young child lock themself in a room without proper supervision. I can not attest to the foundation either way. Where we disagree is that the Reservations Unlimited staff did make the repairs to the kitchen sink and dishwasher drain (you asked us to make the repairs while you were on the slopes so you may not have noticed). I apologize for any confusion however, our description does clearly state that there is no washer, dryer or wifi available in this property.

Great property for up to 8, well managed.

Our two families of 4 adults and 4 kids total had a great stay here. The management was very accommodating of our requests which we greatly appreciated. Sledding, skiing, and snowmobiling all nearby which we did over the weekend.
