The location of this place couldn't be better. A very short walk to the nearest public beach access so we never had to pay for parking, and it's located very near to the restaurants and shops.
Pros:
- Beach gear: chairs, umbrellas, a wagon that made taking it all to the beach a breeze, frisbee, bikes (we didn't use these -- bring a lock with you if you plan to use these as I didn't see one anywhere).
- the hot tub was divine
- the beds and pillows are wonderful.
- Lots of space in the living room, dining room, kitchen and the open floor plan allowed us to all remain together while cooking.
- the kitchen had everything we needed and more.
- the ability to control the temperature independently in each room was wonderful.
Not really cons, just things to know:
- the sheets and pillow cases are washed in something with a STRONG smell. If you are sensitive to smells like that, skip the linens provided by the host and bring your own.
- Everything gets damp. The air was working fine and maintained the temperatures we set, but the entire house was more humid than outdoors. Even things that never got wet were damp after a day of being in the house (hoodies, towels we never used, pillows). I ended up hanging towels and wet bathing suits outside to get them to dry or using the dryer.
- when asking about heating the pool, the host's idea of it being "warm enough" not to heat was definitely not ours. Just know that the advertised "heated pool" may not be heated even if you ask.
