Spacious Home with Ocean View, large deck, private, nearby beach access

This home has it all! Great spaces for family and gatherings. An oversized living room, separate playroom and oversized kitchen. This is the perfect place to entertain guests or have extended family!

3 bedroom 2.5 bath with an additional large outdoor hot/cold shower. Comfortably accommodates 9-10 people. The large eat-in kitchen and dining area seats 12 and includes additional comfortable sitting area. The over-sized living room upstairs has a massage chair and an electric fireplace that you can enjoy year-round. The lower floor has a den/playroom with a futon, gaming system, arcade console, mini fridge, and drybar. Upstairs there is a work desk with printer available for those who need to keep in touch with the office and do a bit of work. The wrap-around deck is great for relaxing, viewing the ocean, feeling the ocean breezes while listening to the waves.

The master bedroom offers deck access. Recline on the wrap around porch or have a meal on the outside dining table. The ocean-view deck includes a dining table, Adirondack chairs, rockers and lounge chairs. Each upstairs bedroom has an en-suite bath, ceiling fan and TV. Two driveways will accommodate up to six vehicles. If you bring a boat you have access to 3 PKS launch sites just blocks away. The private, quiet neighborhood beach access is conveniently located less than 2 blocks down the street.

The downstairs utility room has a washer/dryer. Adult and children bicycles are available for use along with, cornhole and volleyball and net. A gas grill is available for barbecuing your favorite meats and seafood.
No need to fill your car with "beach stuff". The cooler, beach towels, chairs, beach canopy and beach toys (boogie boards, carts and wagons) are all in the garage.
*** Please note: There is a ring door bell at the downstairs entrance
** One dog UNDER 20lb may be allowed but must have owners approval

Our family has enjoyed this lovely property twice.We like to cook fresh seafood daily from Willis' seafood market and especially appreciate all the kitchen amenities this home provides including plenty of chef knives, pots, pans, cutting boards, etc.We love the outdoor shower, large porch with plenty of chairs, and so much living space!The owners are easy to communicate with, obviously take pride in their home, and we look forward to our third visit!

Peaceful, secluded, comfortable, convenient

We were delighted to stay here for the 4th of July week! The property manager was communicative and accommodating. The neighbors were sweet and the place was clean, cozy, and, quiet and convenient. A stone's throw from the beach, the beach house was nestled within a cove of trees that was quite enchanting. We were very fortunate to find this lovely home.

Great house - we recommend!

The house is just as pictured, with multiple gathering spaces which is helpful when traveling with multiple families and ages. Beds & rooms are comfy. Kitchen is very well stocked with owners even leaving their spice cabinet unlocked. Although we brought everything we needed with us, it made it feel like they were sharing their home with us, rather than a sterile rental property. Owners seem to visit frequently and thus have lots of extras available that a pure rental property wouldn’t. We drove in so we were able to bring our own beach gear but they have everything we would have wanted, including a cart (which we did happily use)! There isn’t a view of the ocean, but you can hear the waves from the porch and it is a super quick easy walk to an uncrowded beach. Owners were thoughtful and responsive with all communication. One thing I wish Vrbo would share with renters is exactly what the check in/checkout process is for each property so I will share that here. At check-in, clean sheets are left in each bedroom for you to make the beds yourself. There is a code so you can let yourself in - no office check-in needed. At checkout, take kitchen trash & recycling to outside cans, put all used towels & sheets in laundry room, and wash and put away all dishes. We loved our time here and would heartily recommend it to others.

The house is very comfortable and well furnished. The owner was available and qick to answer questions and concerns. The only issue is the distance to the beach access. However, if one wants a mostly private beach experience, this one is great. Definitely a 5.

Family Beach Trip

Each year our extended family takes a trip to the area and we all really enjoyed this property. It was very clean and was well stocked with games, videos, and beach supplies. We had children between the ages of 5-18 and all of them found games and toys they enjoyed. We also really appreciated the beach carts to help carry things back and forth from the beach. The adults all loved the peacefulness of the deck and listening to the waves. Great property with a great location!

Beach Getaway

This property is amazing! The location is very central yet off the main road. Beach access is a short walk. Sitting on the deck, you will enjoy your morning coffee listening to the waves and can see the ocean from across the street. Very relaxing. The deck will absolutely be your favorite spot while here. I love the way the sun shines on different areas throughout the day. The hosts are amazing and leave you everything you could want to enjoy your stay. From bikes to beach toys to video games for the older ones to enjoy. If you are looking to separate yourself from the teens this is definitely the house for you. The downstairs area is a paradise for them while you are able to enjoy the comforts of home upstairs. The hosts are so responsive to any needs or requests. I highly recommend this property and hope to visit again soon.

Thanksgiving with our Marine

The property was a perfect hang out for my family over Thanksgiving weekend. We came out to see our Marine and brought his new niece to meet him for the first time. Weather wasn’t great but we made it work. Was real close to the beach and had just about anything we would need for cooking a big family meal for the holiday. Mannette was very responsive to all our needs, beds were very comfy! We would stay here again. Thanks for all your hospitality.

Nanny cams throughout the home

The day before we left we found cameras in multiple rooms of the home. We contacted VRBO and they did advise us to leave the property early. We were all pretty freaked out and packed up as quickly as possible. VRBO support was helpful, but a week and a half later I still haven’t received the refund I was promised. Needless to say this was very unnerving and a huge invasion of privacy. Aside from the spy cameras the checkout procedures were more involved than any other rental I’ve ever been to. The host says not to bring anything, but they certainly do expect you to bring cleaning supplies including things like trash bags. There were bathing suits left from the previous guest as well, Im not entirely sure they hire professionals to clean between guests. A framed picture fell off the wall when the garage door was closed, but there was no broom available for clean up. The accommodations are not worth the price. Also, it smelled like sulfur. VRBO assured me that having cameras inside the home violates their policy, but looking back through other reviews it seems we aren’t the first to notice the cameras. Only stay here if you are comfortable being filmed without your consent. This rental ended up being a huge headache that left our whole crew feeling violated and scrambling for last minute accommodations.

Fantastic Family Accommodations

This beach getaway was the perfect place for our family visit. Communication was great from the start. This house had everything we needed for the beach and the location was perfect for visiting the Aquarium, Fort Macon, and Shackleford Island. All the amenities listed in the description were above and beyond what we needed. I loved sitting on the deck and relaxing to the sound of the ocean. The beach access was within walking distance or you could use a private residential parking area with easy access. We had the best time coming from California to visit our Carolina relatives. Thank you for providing such an enjoyable place to stay. I would definitely rebook this property again.

Best vacation rental...EVER!

From the location, to the hosts, to the amenities provided by them this was an unbeatable experience. We had 4 adults and 4 children, 3 teens and a 5.5yo. The property has a lot of well furnished common space, bedrooms are sufficiently sized with many options for sleeping arrangements. The media options inside the home are various and extensive. The gaming options were a big hit, both electronic and board/card. Everything was very clean and well thought out, it is obvious that this is a family vacation home that the hosts extend for our use. As for the important stuff: The access to the beach is local and less than a 2 block walk. There is parking if you prefer. The hosts have kindly provided multiple options for chairs, shade cover, sand and surf implements and carts/wagons specifically to navigate the sand. There are also adult sized bikes with accessories for children available. The outdoor shower was so nice we found ourselves using it as the main shower, again hosts were generous with providing soap, body wash, shampoo, etc. One needs to rinse off from the beach anyways, and it provides privacy and is fully functional plus being out in the air is wonderful. Around the homestead there is plenty of space and furniture provided outside for lounging etc. The Atlantic Beach shopping and dining (may we suggest Roma Pizza if you want an enjoyable locally owned, non-seafood meal) is minutes away with Moorhead City just over the bridge from there. The main tourist hustle and bustle is on the south end of the island in Emerald Isle, so it is accessible but you aren't in the thick of the hubbub. There is a great aquarium minutes away, a fun go kart/mini golf spot not much further down, then in Atlantic Beach, just a 5 minute drive away, there is a Food Lion (grocery store) and kitty corner is a public park with a skate park, splash pad, mini golf, snack bar, lots of space to hang out, and while we were visiting they had free family movies in the park on Friday nights. Finally, as for Neal and Marietta, they are prefect hosts. Very responsive and available if needed, but do not bud in to be a part of your vacation. The home away they have provided is remarkable, and they have a few simple, reasonable requests to help maintain the space for everyone. We received a couple of timely reminders at the beginning and end and nothing else unsolicited. We desperately want to return, SOON!

Perfect Getaway for Big Groups

We stayed at this property with two other families, 10 people total. There was plenty of room for all the kids and adults to hang out during the day and sleep at night. The location was wonderful, providing a very short walk to the beach. The owners also provided an impressive amount of beach chairs, games, and bikes. Our group discovered a game called Crossnet that they had in the garage and took it to the beach everyday. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook large meals for everyone. Marietta was incredibly responsive and helpful when we had a question for her on our first night there. I would highly recommend this house!

Family Friendly, Almost Ocean Front Property

The house was more than adequate for our needs. Each faction of our group had their own space/bedrooms. Appreciated the large kitchen/dining/and living rooms. Location is excellent just a short walk to the beach. Would be helpful for future guests if the listing for the house specified more clearly that the basement bathroom does NOT have it's own shower (it's outside) even though the outside shower was nice to have. The dresser drawers in the bedrooms could have been cleaner and had to be wiped out before putting our clothes in.

Relaxing BeCh Vacation

My family and I recently had a wonderfully relaxing vacation at Marietta and Neal's beautiful retreat! The layout of the house meant that Mom, Dad, and the kids could relax separately or together as desired. The kids loved all the entertainment options in the house and we even played our first family monopoly game. There were plenty of boogie boards and chairs to take to the beach which was an easy walk. Really just about everything we needed was included except swimsuits, beach towels, meals, and sunscreen. Perfect!

My name is Marietta. My husband and I live in North Carolina, enjoy the outdoors and traveling. We love the Pine Knoll Shores area because of the quiet neighborhood and beautiful beach.
We want our home to be your home during your vacation. If you are looking for great food or some night life, it is not far away. This is a great place to entertain family and friends with plenty of places to spread out and chat or play a game or two. I love to read and so there is a collection of books to choose from. We have more than one gaming system. There are two main gathering rooms; one upstairs and one down. This enables the gaming crowd and the those who want to chat to have separate areas. There is also a pocket door between the large kitchen area and living room for privacy.

Our 3000 sq ft home is located in a quiet, safe neighborhood next to the beach. It offers privacy and is much better than having tight space with other people on all sides.
Take in a sunrise or sunset walk on the beach or enjoy the view from the deck with a warm cup of coffee in the morning or cocktail at night. Relax, kick back and enjoy time with your loved ones. This home has something for everyone. Are you into sports and cycling? There are bicycles for your use and boogies boards for hitting the waves at the beach. Into gaming,? There is a Wii, Playstation and arcade games? These are available in the downstairs den. Want to pamper yourself, take a seat in the full body massage chair. The kitchen is fully equipped for those into cooking and plenty of seating for those into eating. Several sitting areas for being with family and friends both inside and out.
