Immaculate Waterfront Cottage - Activities Galore for the Entire Family

Welcome to our cabin! Our home is a cozy and comfortable retreat on a small New Hampshire Lake. Our bright and airy waterfront cottage has three living spaces, an open kitchen and expansive outdoor spaces. It is the perfect get away in any season.

Spring days are longer, the fish are biting, and it is a great time to enjoy a paddle or a local hike. Bring your bike or use one of ours and take a ride on the 58-mile Northern Rail Trail taking in all the sites along the way. Spring is the perfect time to enjoy an evening campfire while listening to the frogs announce that spring has arrived.

In summer the pristine pond is ideal for swimming, jumping off the dock or just floating on our water toys. We have a canoe, two kayaks and a paddle board to help you explore the lake. Relax in the hammock or on the shore to take in the views of the lake. The perfect end to a summer day is dinner served on the deck overlooking the lake or on the one-of-a-kind floating picnic table.

Spend fall days hiking to the top of a local mountain to view the foliage, visiting an apple orchard to pick some fresh fruit or just paddling around on the lake in one of our kayaks to experience the fabulous fall colors. Stop at a farmers market or farm stand and pick up all the fixings to make dinner in the fully stocked kitchen that over looks the lake. After dinner relax by the indoor fireplace or build a campfire and enjoy some freshly roasted s'mores

In the winter strap on a pair of our snow shoes and go for a walk or jump in our snow tube and slide down our hill onto the lake. If you are a downhill skier, you will find three local ski hills about 15 miles from the house. Relaxing by the fire playing games or sipping a cocktail is the perfect way to end any winter day.

Because of our rural location, we have a septic system. Please take short showers and limiting loads of laundry to two a day
No motorized vehicles on and around the property including snowmobiles, four wheelers and boats. Only two care allowed on property.
No diving off swim raft. Keep noise at a reasonable level to not disturb the neighbors.

Well appointed house with just about everything you could possibly want (except a cutting board). Wonderful morning sun as it faces east. Beautiful full moon rise in east. Swimming and dining in water spot lose the days sun by mid morning. Pond is very peaceful, clean, and undeveloped on southern side. Loons are fairly tame as kayak/canoe jaunts don't bother them. Stayed after Labor Day and never saw anyone in or on the water.

Our stay at the cottage was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how clean and well-maintained the house was—it felt like stepping into a peaceful retreat. The views from inside and out on the deck were absolutely stunning, making every morning coffee and evening sunset feel extra special.The real highlight, though, was all the water activities. We had a blast kayaking, paddle boarding, and swimming right off the property. It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, and we made some unforgettable memories.I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place. Whether you’re looking for outdoor fun or just a serene spot to unwind, this cottage delivers on every front. Highly recommend!

My family of four had a restorative and much needed escape at Mary’s home. The house is well-equipped with everything you would need, and the lake is so peaceful and serene. The view is gorgeous! Mary went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable (more than any host I’ve ever dealt with) and that really left a lasting impression on me. We hope to return one day.

Loved it! Exceeded expectations! Will be back!

We loved our stay at 60 French! The house was awesome. Clean, well maintained, and all of the stuff you would need for a family weekend at a mountain lake. We enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and fishing. The morning cup of coffee on the deck was so enjoyable. My son loved the nap in the hammock. The location was super. We will be back soon I hope!

Memory's made here!

We had an absolutely amazing time at this truly special place. First off it was perfectly clean .. pristine. Secondly, it was so private. The pond was perfect for swimming and boating. We did both with our grandkids, Charlotte and Lucas. Ruggles Mine was literally a hidden gem. We all loved it!

This property is amazing! This was our second stay at the waterfront cottage. It was just as beautiful and relaxing as our first stay. Although it rained most of our stay, we were able to enjoy canoeing on the pond a few times. We were also able to see the Strawberry Moon shine above the pond- truly spectacular!

Peace and quiet

Overall wonderful stay. The Pond is very peaceful and so relaxing with water side chairs to sit on or the deck to enjoy the morning calm and sunrise. Water was clean and without boat traffic very manageable for kids. Loons, ducks and even a mink were our daily animal highlights The house was spotless and very comfortable. Many options for activities with games and floats provided. I didn’t reach the goal of no screen time at all but all the options made it easier for everyone to find something to do when they weren’t fishing or paddling. Plenty of activities away from the house too with hiking and visits to town. Communication with the host was immediate. And the welcoming nature of this property with welcome gifts and messages from the host was appreciated.

Outstanding lake house

Mary is a perfect host: responsive and very considerate. The house is immaculate and the lake site is perfect for us (small and quiet.) We will definitely come back again!

Perfect stay at serene lake cottage

We had a perfect weekend at this charming home. It is indeed immaculate and very comfortable. Mary is a thoughtful communicative host. Spectacle Pond is delightful- very quiet! We enjoyed kayaking, swimming, paddle boarding, sitting on the deck and spending time together. Hope to return in the future.

Perfect getaway

I don't usually write reviews but this place was a gem. As soon as I walked in I breathed a sigh of relief it is as clean as all the other reviews mention. The kitchen is so well stocked there was nothing we needed. We had the most relaxing week swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking. The water was shallow near the dock so my littlest did snorkeling around there and the older one enjoyed the dock. The pond itself is so quiet and peaceful. Would definitely recommend this host and property!

Perfection!

This was our second stay and Mary was wonderful! Every little detail was thought of...crisp, clean sheets and towels, super comfy beds, and pretty much anything a family of 5 could think of needing. Took a sunset kayak ride and enjoyed the super clean lake. Photos don't do it justice, truly beautiful! Great kitchen for cooks :)

The cottage was perfect for our getaway! The description is just like Mary provided and the cottage was well supplied and very clean. We enjoyed using the canoe and kayak and swimming in the lake. The unexpected surprise was occasionally hearing the beautiful sounds of the loons across the lake- it was truly a unique experience for us all.

Peace and tranquility

I echo all the previous reviews re how special the setting of this property is - a beautiful and peaceful location. This is all the more special as the owners have made available all the equipment to make the best of the waterfront setting - kayaks, canoe, fishing rods, fire pit etc. They were also super responsive to queries. We very much enjoyed our stay - thank you.

Quiet Cottage on the Pond

Nestled deep in the woods, we found a very cozy cottage. We arrived late in the evening and didn't realize how amazing the cottage and land were until we woke up! The cottage is on the most beautiful pond! It is truly breath taking! The pictures on VRBO do not do it justice! The house had everything we needed or wanted on the inside and out! We had a relative in the hospital, so we were not able to enjoy the cottage as much as we would have liked (and it rained the few afternoons we were there). We were able to take the canoe out one evening and it was amazing! There was a strange animal in the water with us. The neighbor heard us asking about it and yelled it was a beaver. A beaver! We are from New Mexico and have never come across a beaver (he wasn't happy we were in the water with him. It was quite comical)! I think we made the neighbors night with our out bursts! You could also hear a chorus of frogs singing every night! The cottage itself was very clean and felt like someone from HGTV had come and decorated it! If you were going to be cooking meals, the kitchen is supplied with everything you would need. There was also enough necessities, we never ran out. We had to contact the owners once and had a reply within minutes. I was with my 2 sisters and elderly mother. It was easily accessible for all of us. Given the chance, we would have stayed a few more days (weeks, months, years)! We hope we can come again!

A little pice of heaven

Omg, This booking far exceeded our expectations. It was exactly what we hoped for, to allow our family to have quality time together while enjoying privacy at the lakeside. The cottage itself was immaculate and so tastefully decorated. We loved how connected to nature it was, with so much thought given into providing every detail in order for us to relax and have fun. The setting is gorgeous, so much so I kept burning my pancakes. I didn't want to miss looking at the view! My daughter particularly enjoyed the nature books/artwork as an aspiring biology researcher. We will have these memories forever now. Thank you. Also, we would love to come back some day if you would have us.

The house on Spectacle Pond was great in every way—clean, well-equipped, conveniently located, good access to outdoor activities; we used the kayaks and canoe several times.

Perfect in every way!

We booked this cabin last minute as our original VRBO further up north had a plumbing issue and became unavailable less than 24 hours before we were scheduled to arrive. We found this cabin, which was further south than we were planning to stay, but it looked so perfect that we booked it anyway. We were SO GLAD we did!! We felt bad booking last minute, but Mary actually had the place ready early for us, which was amazing because we had time to get right out onto the lake in the kayaks and enjoy a beautiful afternoon! The minute we arrived, we both decided that the change of plans was a blessing in disguise. First of all, this place was not just clean - it was immaculate!! The layout of the cabin is great and it's very nicely decorated. The view of the lake from all three levels of the house was beautiful. We loved watching the family of loons who cruised back and forth past the house all weekend. We took the kayaks out 3 or 4 times during our stay. The lake is small enough to be quiet, but big enough that a paddle around it is close to 3 miles round trip. We ate every meal on the deck overlooking the lake. At night we took advantage of having a glass of wine out by the fire pit, watching the stars and listening for the owls. There were lots of good hiking trails nearby, as well as the Northern Rail Trail, which was great for us since we had our mountain bikes with us. I could go on and on about how great this place is, but I'll sum it up by saying that my husband and I totally fell in love with this lakeside cabin and we would love to book it again in the future. Mary - you are a wonderful host and we thank you for sharing your amazing home with us!!

Beautiful Getaway

Our first impression was how immaculate the cabin was kept. We had the feeling no one had been there before us. Then the setting took our breath away. Everything we needed was available in the cabin. There was a lovely card and welcoming gifts waiting for us on the counter. We highly recommend this cabin to anyone who enjoys getting away on a quiet, beautiful, pond, in a gorgeous cabin with all the amenities for a fun filled vacation. Debbie & Bob

We are "empty nesters" and decided we wanted to welcome others to come and enjoy all that our area has to offer.

We have all the toys to make your time at the lake enjoyable. We have a dock that you can swim out to. We have a one of a kind picnic table float - I have included a picture. It is a great place to have dinner on the water!
