This property has a pool that can be heated between Labor Day and Memorial Day for an additional fee of $69/night. You MUST notify management at least seven days in advance of your arrival if you would like to purchase pool heat. If the outside temperature is colder than 55 degrees, the pool will not be able to maintain a warmer temperature. If the pool does not reach your desired temperature but is still warming, refunds will NOT be given.

This spacious vacation rental is just a short walk from the beach and features your own private, seasonally-heated pool with an enclosed backyard and furnished pool deck. Inside, you'll find a spacious living room with vaulted ceilings, an open and airy, well-equipped kitchen, and a dining room with seating for eight. Off the second floor, there's also a furnished balcony where you can sneak away with a good book and a refreshing beverage.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Everything was good but the floors need a good washing and the WiFi was a real pain. Having to log in every time you use a device. The management company was very helpful for a couple of needs.

This house has potential, but needs some work.

Upon arrival, we were very excited about the house. The location was fantastic (walking distance to the beach) and the neighborhood was very quiet and private. However, once we got into the house, there were several issues that we found. The house is outdated and needs some work done on it. The Guest Services team was not helpful throughout our stay. They were very responsive, but were not able to answer our questions or resolve our issues. For example, when I asked where the light to the pool was, they were not able to give me a specific location, and instead told me that "most pool light switches are located somewhere outside by the pool". The Wi-Fi in the house never worked while we were there, and Guest Services was not able to resolve that issue either. The house advertises that it sleeps 12 people, but this would be tight as there are only 2 bathrooms and aside from the master bedroom, the bedrooms are very small and do not have dressers/storage. I think with some updates and improvements, this house would be incredible. However, it isn't quite there yet.

This was my first time booking a Vacasa home through Vrbo and unfortunately it will be my last as I did not have a good experience during the trip. The house was beautiful but had some issues. For example, there was mold on the ceiling and the fans did not work in the house, one of the sliding glass doors on the patio did not work, a panel on the kitchen cabinet fell off the first day we got there, and the WiFi was not available at any time during our stay. The kitchen was not well stocked nor easy to cook in - most of the pans were nonstick but the nonstick coating was scratched off and flaking off on the bottom so they could not be used. The support team I was working with was friendly, but did not actually fix issues in a timely manner, or at all. It seemed they were limited in what they could actually do to resolve an issue. They certainly were not able to answer the questions I had about the property, such as where the switch was to turn on the light in the pool. The support team also told me that the WiFi was not working for the entire island for the entire week we were there, which was simply not true. I will not be booking through a third party in the future, but will book directly with an owner instead as I felt it was very difficult to get a straight answer from anyone and no one was able to address the issues we experienced during our trip.

The owners fixed the backyard pool fence which helped us immensely. The location is as good as reported. Very good. Not too close to Coligny but a bike ride away. The beach and surf are very safe and enjoyable

Needs work

Our group of 9 (6 adults and 3 teens) just finished our week at 20 Pelican rd. We have rented a house every year for the last 20 and I have never left a review but I feel this is warranted. I wish we would have the reviews before booking and saved the disappointment. This property needs a major rehab, starting with the subfloors on the first floor are very soft and rotten in the entire eat in area, in the downstairs bathroom due to the shower door not sealing and bedroom. The glass sliding door by the eat in area does not close and seal due to the unlevel floors and allowed flies in all week. There is nothing in front of the outdoor shower to stop slips and falls on the deck, it is in the shade and was slimy with mold and algae causing our 79-year-old father to fall (thankfully he was not hurt badly and only bruised). When we arrived the glass globe on the ceiling fan in down stairs bedroom was shattered. This was reported upon check in and the service tech did come promptly and remove it but no replacement was made. There was black mold in the down stairs bathroom ceiling. The kitchen ceiling fan did not work only the light. Some signage by the pool would have been nice so others would know the depth of the pool which is probably 8-9 feet. The location is good and communication with Vacasa in booking was easy. I feel the owners need to step up their game.

Ok place to stay. Beware of Vacasa Management!! They’ll steal from you!

Being just short walk to the beach was great but that was about it. Old house, that needs some work. Several doors didnt close. Mostly clean and bug free. Major appliances worked. The coffee pots were very gross like they have never been cleaned so we didnt use them. The most infuriating part about our stay was working w/ Vacasa management. When we booked our stay in Feb we asked if we could heat the pool. They said yes & charged me 435. Once we arrive on 5/24 we tested out the pool & it felt cool. We figured it was because it was a cloudy day or they just turned it on for our stay that it hadn’t warmed up yet. We waited it out & it was still cold. I contacted Vacasa and asked if they could have someone come check that the heater was on & that’s when I was told that the owners did not allow the pool to heated after Memorial Day. If I never would have contacted them they would have stolen 435 from me! I asked several times to have a sup call me but never got a call. They said we would be eligible for a FULL refund but they only processed partial. I had to call them and sit on hold for 45 mins to get to a sup & then they finally gave me the remaining refund. They didn’t have a reason why they charged us to begin with. Worst experience ever b/c of that I will NEVER stay at a place that is managed by them. The owners also had a very large package of new furniture delivered that blocked entry during our stay that took 3 people to move. Very inconsiderate and rude for your guest

The inside of the house needs a deep clean, there were some cob webs in the window frames. The bedding and towels were clean. Fabulous time in Hilton Head

The house is in a great location, close to the beach, quiet neighborhood, and easy access to Coligny Plaza that has excellent food choices. The spacious kitchen and family room allowed us to enjoy time with family. The experience would be better if the fenced in yard went to ground level. We had to keep our dog on a leash in the fenced yard. Also, we encountered two cockroaches thus making sure our food was kept in sealed containers.

Christmas Trip with Family and Pet

We took a last minute trip to Hilton Head for Christmas break with the kids. The house was exactly what we had expected and had plenty of room for our 6 people. The location was great. Close enough to the shops that the kids could ride their bikes there and also to the beach. Easy walk to the beach. Wish the weather was a little warmer but we really enjoyed the trip. Thanks!

In a nice location - when the hot water works

Our hot water was out on arrival and though we were able to get it fixed the next day after calling twice, the hot water was out again a day later. The staff are nice, but for the expense of staying there to not have hot water on arrival or at leaving was just not worth the money. I am still waiting to hear back on possible compensation for this trip, but not holding my breath.

Vacation at 20 Pelican Hilton Head

We had a lovely time, and the house was nicely decorated and clean. There are just a couple of areas for improvement. The house is advertised as having a fenced in yard, but half of the fencing doesn't come close to the ground, leaving at least a foot or more space where our dog could go under the fence. This is a safety concern, and I did notice other people had made the same comment, but nothing was done about the situation. We had a problem with the living room TV, it wouldn't turn on, and Erin was wonderful in correcting the situation. She purchased a new TV and brought it over to set it up.

Our family of 9 enjoyed this house. The pool was nice and had lots of sunlight. The beach was only a 3 minute. And they provided all the essentials for our stay.

Excellent location!!

House and pool were great. 4 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute bike ride to Coligny. We had 8 adults and 3 children and there was plenty of space for everyone. Highly recommend for fun family get together spot.
