Bairro Alto / Chiado Neighborhood.

My place is a recently updated +500 year old apartment located in on the border between the Bairro Alto and Chiado neighborhoods, with a nice view over the busy Bairro streets. It is at walking distance from many essential spots to visit in the area.

The space
This apartment was completely renovated in 2021/2022 and while small sized (typical in this neighborhood), has an ample and well lit living room and a nice and comfortable bedroom featuring a king size bed with a high quality mattress. All main windows have wooden shutters for your privacy. The Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and the Bathroom is big and has both a shower and a bathtub. All areas have natural light and there's a big wardrobe in the hallway to encourage longer stays.

Guest access
The building has no elevator, so there's some stairs to be climbed. It is an old pre-earthquake building, as Bairro Alto recently completed 508 years.

Other things to note
Bairro Alto is a fun and busy neighbourhood, mostly at night, with restaurants, bars, fado joints, nightclubs, tapas (petiscos) houses, clothing stores, vinyl shops, designer studios, designer stores, etc. The apartment's street also happens to be one of the least noisier ones, but still it is to be expected some street noise, especially during weekend nights.

Hosts can be contacted at all times, via phone, e-mail or vrbo/homeaway messaging system.

The Neighborhood
There is everything you'll need nearby: Markets, supermarkets, groceries, food stores, bakeries, restaurants, wineries, cafés, bars and discos plus some more stuff: Concert venues, museums (Chiado Modern Art Museum), Theatres (at least two, and one includes an Opera house), excellent downtown sightseeing viewpoints, monuments, the historical downtown area and castle, etc. Everything at just a 30 minutes walk.

Getting Around
There are BUS stations, Tram stations and a Subway station close by. The Subway can take guests to and from the Airport (check Subway map in the photos). The subway station can also be used to travel easily to and from the downtown area using electrical escalators (useful if you travel with small kids that get tired of walking around, or heavy luggage), because there's another access entrance downtown;
There are at least 3 public parking buildings in the area to choose from, as well as a few street parking spaces (all paid parking).
There's one supermarket nearby (300m), which can get easily crowded, even on weekdays, so if you're going to cook or make breakfast, plan your grocery shopping in advance. The other nearest supermarket is a bit farthest (600m) and involves some going up and down the hills;
There's also a bakery at the south end of the street (100m) open all week.

House Rules
No loud noises after 10PM, please. There are neighbors living in the building. There's also a 'rules card' in the apartment for easy guest guidance.
