Historic beachside home in charming Sunset Beach

Charming cottage in eclectic Sunset Beach, California. Out the front door and across the street you're on the sand in one of Orange County's finest beaches, celebrated in Beach Boys songs

Perfect for a couple, or a couple with up to two children, the cottage has a queen bed in the bedroom and a sleeper-sofa in the front room. Loveable kitchen fulfills all your cooking needs.

Rare in Sunset Beach, the house has a 20' by 20' outdoor space, grill and outdoor shower.

The house has one reserved parking spot right in front of the house by the front gate. In addition, Sunset Beach has two rows of public parking running the entire mile of the town.

Note: From October 2025 to November 2026 (with a break for Summer 2026), the Sunset Beach Sanitary District will be improving the sewer system under the greenbelt across from the cottage. This does not effect parking or beach access and is largely underground.

Charming home stocked with necessities, clean and adorably decorated. Love not having the stress about following a list of laundry/cleaning duties upon checkout. Such a relief! Of course I will leave it tidy :-) it's just a relief not having the anxiety about following a list! Perfect location just a two min walk to Sunset Beach. Will absolutely be back! Already looking forward to booking again.

All went great. My only complaint is the mattress was very soft and felt like a canyon in the middle. Didn’t sleep well at all, but the daughter enjoyed sleeping on the couch other than that the place was very clean very cute and nice.

The cottage is clean and cute, the bed and pillows are comfortable. Access to the beach is easy and VERY close by. You can see the water from the front windows. The beach is not crowded, even on the weekends. The kitchen is well stocked. The toaster oven was a nice touch. I ate at the house most of the time, except for 2 visits to the Calico Fish House on 19th Street. There are many other restaurants in Sunset Beach, but so far Calico is my favorite. An added plus is that it is seed oil free. Seal beach is 7 minutes away with 3 blocks of shopping and eateries. Host Robert is quick to respond to any questions. I will want to stay here again.
There are some great sunsets.

Cute house in an ideal beach location. The sand is right across a small street. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shops around Sunset Beach and the marina. The hosts are very gracious and easy to communicate with. Absolutely loved it and hope to come back here again!

Want the beach? You’ve got it at this cozy cottage. Loved our stay and will be back. Like coffee shops? We walked down the block to Succulent every morning. September is also the perfect time to visit. The weather was picture perfect.

Soccer and Beach perfect location

Came to California for a soccer trip at Silverlakes in Norco. This property was just what we needed to have beach time and enjoy watching our daughter play during the day. The location is the absolute best. We enjoyed morning walks along the beach, after and happy so hour drinks at local spots. So many choices for food and drinks, family friendly ones too! The patio space was amazing to chill and listen to the neighborhood or the best views from the patio when you want some sunshine, a bit of people watching and fun interacting with the neighbors and surf community. Definitely plan to look up the house on our next trip to California, would stay here again for sure!

Great stay

My family and I had a wonderful time staying here. The only thing we felt a little disappointed with is the pull out couch is covered due to the arms being broken so my child wasn’t able to use the bed function. Other then that, the house exceeded our expectations, so close to the beach, great neighborhood, and amazing patio.

Perfect Beach Bungalow

We enjoyed are stay and will definitely be back. It was the perfect location for us. Close to the beach and the many great locales that I love. We like it quiet and this was exactly our experience.

Cute cottage just steps from the beach

Perfect for a couple or family with 1-2 young kids who don’t mind a smaller space. Beach access is truly just across the street. Bean bag toss set, a few sand toys, beach chairs, and beach towels were included. My older son had a blast with the metal detector that was left for use. Adorable outdoor space with privacy fence that was more spacious than expected and we loved hearing the ocean when hanging out on the also spacious front porch. Shower was beautifully upgraded but is a small stall size as mentioned so this could be a set back for a larger person. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and location!

Great beach getaway!

This little cottage was perfect for me and my husband. The property had everything we needed with functional kitchen, comfortable bed and nice family room area. Best of all is we were walking on the beach in less than one minute!

Awesome Sunset Beach getaway.

A well-equipped and great beachside home! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location is right near the beach and there are plenty of tasty restaurants within walking distance. We appreciated the owners for two reasons...One, there was a small snafu when we checked in and they immediately rectified the situation. Two, instead of some VRBO rentals where, at check out after paying 150 for a cleaning fee, you are asked to clean all the dishes, strip the bed, start the laundry and take out all garbage, these owners state that "there is no check out or cleaning procedure, we want you to enjoy your time here". Awesome!

“I love you, little bungalow” -Lucy, 4 years old. We loved another stay in sunset beach. What a special neighborhood. Robert is a wonderful host and we enjoyed our time immensely.

Great Place

This VRBO listing is a must stay. This is a perfect place for 2 people. It is a friendly neighborhood, ton of walkable restaurants, nice walking trail down the street that follows the beach and extremely quick beach access right out the front door. Would recommend to everyone!

Perfect location

They made everything they could out of the space they had. I was worried with the low sq ft of the home but I didn’t feel cramped inside with 2 adults and 2 kids. the mattress was better than mine slept great. Patio was great for eating outside. Would love to stay here again

This place was perfect for my wife and I for a get-away weekend. The location is awesome. Close to beach and great for a walking since it’s near the bike path. Also close to other surrounding beaches, shops, and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
