Following a complete revamp Dualchas now has two double bedrooms (one en suite) and one twin bedroom with a family bathroom (Bath and over bath shower). Downstairs there is a completely refurbished kitchen / dining area, new lounge area with wood burning fire, tv/dvd player (dvds available) and a porch with seating. There is a large garden with ample parking, an outdoor picnic area, extra seating and space for a BBQ.
If you wish to bring a dog, please contact us first.
Towels will be available for the number of guests booked

If you wish to stay for more than 1 week, please get in contact with us.

Wonderful, quiet place to stay

I stayed in this house for a week with my family. The house is very comfortable, well heated and the kitchen is fully equipped. The views from the living room are amazing. No noise except for sheep and birds. A truly charming, relaxing place. The house is also beautifully decorated with pictures and paintings. We found everything we need in the local store at Staffin, which is surprisingly well stocked if you like to cook from scratch. Unfortunately we found the dishwasher to be out of order when we arrived. But the rest of the amenities were as described. Thank you Sheonagh for making our stay unforgettable!

I left my heart in Digg

I love the wee White House on the hill and we will haste back. For us it was perfection. We know Skye so knew where it was situated (the loveliest area on the island in my view) but it is remote. I only say this to be helpful, don’t be put off unless you want proximity to town. Sheonagh is a darling and seeing all the photos linking the cottage to family life made it feel like we were staying with friends. I will never forget it

Excellent home perfectly situated for exploring all of Skye and particularly for the popular attractions around Staffin. Get up early and you have Storr and the Quirang to yourself. The property is well appointed clean and comfortable as if it was your own vacation house. We journeyed 17,000 miles to and back from our home and drove another 1200 miles around Skye Lewis /Harris and the Highlands. This house made us want to return. Mahalo Dan

Beautiful views and well furnished property

We enjoyed our stay in the house, it was well furnished, in particular the kitchen. The view was fabulous. We had an issue with the WiFi not working on the first evening and as the house has no signal, were only able to resolve this the next day. When we got in touch, Sheonagh was quick to respond and managed to get BT to fix it.

Luxury cottage on Skye.

Fabulous luxury cottage. Well equipped to a high standard. Quiet, peaceful situation. My only quibbles would be that although the cottage was listed as dog friendly, in the information email I received the day before our arrival it stated that dogs must sleep in the porch, which leaked when it rained! Also requested was to dispose of our own rubbish, which was a nuisance as the nearest public bin was some miles away...not what you expect to have to do when you are paying a premium for a luxury stay. That being said, we enjoyed our time there.

Perfect location for a peaceful break

We loved our week's stay in this lovely cottage. Location is absolutely perfect for exploring some of the key attractions on Skye (Old Man of Storr and Quiraing both short drives away). The cottage itself is perfect and very clean - comfortable bedrooms; well equipped recently refurbished kitchen. Living area is excellent with a fabulous picture window overlooking the bay. The porch area has similar views and provides a separate seating area. We were fortunate with the weather to be able to sit outside at the picnic table in the garden - so peaceful in the surrounding area (often just the sound of the local sheep). A great base for a relaxing getaway. Thank you also to Sheonagh for clear and timely communication throughout.

Lovely accommodation -Memorable trip

Had a comfortable stay and everything was well organised in the property. The place is 40 mins drive from Portree but there are plenty to explore around the place. Wi-fi at the property is good but your phone wouldn't work outside. The host will warn you of poor/lack of network before your arrival though. When you first arrive, locating the property will be little tricky. So familiarise yourself of the landmarks before arrival. Once you stepped inside the property, there is nothing to regret. If we have to visit Skye again, we will definitely stay here in our next trip too. Enjoy your stay!

What a find!!

This was a great place to stay, we needed a break after both working throughout the lockdown and Covid situation. Property does not disappoint on any level. Gorgeous location on what I consider the best end of the island. Can't fault the owners for making the booking as easy as possible and provided plenty of information. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday in a stunning location.

Stunning......

This was our first trip to Scotland for many years and we were looking for a break away from home before Covid impacted again. From the moment we spotted the house in its elevated position on the hillside we knew the views were going to be amazing - and they were. It was a never ending delight to glance up and see the vista constantly changing through the large picture window. The house was extremely comfortable; warm, sunny, light and bright, clean, tastefully furnished and with everything we needed for our stay. We had intended to be a party of 5 friends and sadly Covid restrictions prevented us being 3 households together - but had we all gone together the house would have worked very well for us all. We will certainly return to this stunning area and this lovely house.

This cottage is excellent. The owner Sheonaugh and her family were very helpful, personable and brilliant from the start even before we arrived when communicating with them. On our arrival it was spotlessly clean, very very CV19 friendly, sanitiser dispenser attached to porch entry at door, masks and cleaning schedule very evident which made my husband and I feel very safe. Even with all this, their beautiful cottage was very very homely and welcoming. It really did feel like you were walking into your own comfortable home not a holiday cottage as such! The faciliities were fabulous, equipped to a very high standard with every little detail to make your stay more comfortable thought of. The newly fitted kitchen was superb. The bedroom super comfy and the ensuite and bathroom also excellent. In a nutshell we loved it and have no hesitation in going back again in the future. Thank you to the owners for making our week in your home one to def remember for all the right reasons.

5 star digs in Digg.

We stayed in this cottage for 12 nights with family who stayed for 7. The location is perfect. Quiet with stunning views. Half way between Uig and Portree. The cottage has plenty room in both the living area and kitchen/ diner. Good comfy beds in all bedrooms and bathrooms plush and modern. Wine fridge nice touch in the kitchen ( I want one ) Cottage is fenced in which makes it great for dogs and there is plenty room to sit out and catch some rays if you get the weather. Sun all day if your lucky like we were . I would stay there again in a heartbeat you could look a long time and not better this.

Perfect location for a cozy and relaxing holiday in a stunning environment!

We enjoyed our stay on Skye (xmas to new year 2020) a lot! The house contained everything we could ask for and was very comfortable. Especially we enjoyed the beautiful christmas decoration. Host and housekeeper were so very friendly and helpful - thanks a lot! Not very far from the house there are such a lot of things to see, and being located in a small village everything was very peaceful and quiet - just what we were looking for.

Anfitrião: Sheonagh Beaton

This croft house and land have been in my husbands family for many years. His late great uncle kept his 'beasts' on this land and grew up in an original Skye black house - the site of which is now the drying area.
Dualchas was originally built 80 years ago and has been refurbished within the last 6 years to provide, what is now, a cosy bolt hole for us. We have decided to extend the cottage by one room and work will start in Sep/Oct 18. We are very excited as this will give us more room and a beautiful picture window to enjoy the fabulous view.
We hope that you will enjoy it too.

Dualchas has one of the best views in Digg, the air is clean and there is no light pollution - meaning that on a clear night the sky is quite stunning.

The cottage has undergone some renovation and this has been done to an exeptionally high standard.

It is an ideal base to explore the beautiful island of Skye
