Come visit the iconic house of the Shuswap in Blind Bay BC and holiday in this beautiful spot! Short walk to the beach and a few minutes drive to amenities including boat rentals, launch and golf course! This is a lower floor walkout, it’s a fully contained private suite with 2500 sq ft of spacious living and gorgeous panoramic views of the Shuswap lake! It’s has 3 good size bedrooms with 3 queen beds and 2 pullout couches with 4 inch memoy foam for a good night’s sleep along with a futon! We also have 2 full bathrooms, with separate hot water tanks! These accommodation can sleep 10 people comfortably! It has a bbq, shuffle board table with sauna and a full laundry along with hot tub and bbq for your use only! Every window has a stunning view of the bay! It also has a large outdoor covered private patio with plenty of seating for large groups! This property is on a beautiful lot with a fire pit and various fruit trees and lots of lawn to enjoy the great outdoors! All amenities plus boat launch, beach, golf and restaurants are just a few minutes drive away or a short walk! This property has everything you need for a great holiday stay!

We always have the place spotlessly clean for all guests and we work very hard at that but we find in this kind of business, there is always someone u can’t please, no matter what and if u r looking for imperfections u r going to find something to complain about, that’s life and theses kind of people rarely leave the place in very good condition!!!! :(

Family Reunion 2025

Our time at this home was wonderful. There was plenty of room for all 7 of us on the lower level of the house. Lots of lovely outdoor sitting areas for us to gather or take some “me” time. The kitchen, although smaller, was well stocked, some spices and extras that helped make it feel more like home. The living space gave us plenty of room to relax and visit.

We had a great time. This place has everything you need, fantastic view, hot tub and shuffle board. Our hosts were great and were available for any questions. Quiet, relaxing and 5 minutes to the beach, perfect.

Beautiful place with a great view.

Great place to stay, with great hosts. The place was very clean and comfortable. I was a little taken aback when we found out it’s only a basement suite, as we are very very loud people and did not want to disturb our hosts. It was all good though as they never mentioned us being to loud even though I’m sure we were a little disruptive. The hosts were very nice and helpful with anything we needed. Thank you very much to the hosts. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Spacious house in Blind Bay

The Perfect Getaway

Just returned and couldn’t have asked for more! The space was large, the beds were super comfy, the air conditioning was perfect, and the hot tub and shuffleboard were bonus features and the view of the bay was spectacular!

Shuswap Golf Weekend

We had a great weekend and the accommodation was as described. We would all love to stay again as the suite had everything we could ask for and more. Hosts were extremely helpful at check in and were very available if there was anything we needed. Would highly recommend for a family or moderate sized group!

Blind Bay Beauty!!

Chris and Dan’s place was so lovely for our family’s Christmas getaway. The view was spectacular, the wood fire stove kept us warm, the place was spacious enough for all of us. Chris and Dan’s place was stocked with everything you need to get you started. And the hot tub was an added bonus after a long day. It was a perfect spot for a much-needed break.

Amazing Views

This property has incredible views from the spacious deck as well as from all of the bedrooms. There was plenty of outdoor space to play bocce and croquet. Everything is beautifully maintained and the owners made every effort to ensure we had everything we needed. Top marks.

Great space with a wonderful view

6 of us (3 adults and 3 teens) stayed for four nights. The hosts, who live upstairs, were very accommodating and helpful - it’s such a large place we didn’t notice they were upstairs. The hot tub and sauna worked great, as did all appliances. Wifi was more than adequate for 6 people with devices. And the pictures do not do justice to the view. We will definitely come back.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

The view is outstanding! The patio doubled our living space and the accommodation held 6 adults and 2 children very comfortably. We thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities . . . shuffle board, sauna, hot tub, eating outside at the table and relaxing on the patio with yet another separate seating area. With 8 people, no one was in anybody's "space". We're definitely coming back. Thanks Chris and Dan.

We booked it for the view, which is really nice

The space for cooking was better than most and the view was awesome. One thing we did not realize when booking the place, is that there is no dining room table inside. When you are staying a full week, you don't want to be outside for every family meal. With owners being upstairs, we never fully felt like we were alone, like most vrbo home rentals. It worked, but it may be an issue for some. Super nice hosts though.

Sorry to hear that Matthew, you knew we lived upstairs because you asked before you booked!! We gave you your privacy, as we always do for our guests and only communicated when needed! As for the dining room table, there is a table with 4 chairs in the back room, which could have easily been moved into the large living area! With the two eating areas on the covered outside patio, the question of the dining room table inside has never come up before and taking a star off for something we can’t do anything about, is pretty pathetic! I guess In this type of business, what we have learned over time is, we can’t please everyone!!!!

This VRBO has a lot of great things. It was clean and a beautiful view from the lower deck. I rated the accuracy of the house listing with a low rating because I feel it is very deceiving how they have this listed. Only the bottom level is available to stay in. The pictures show the whole house and upper level deck which makes the guests to believe the whole house is available. This should definitely be made known in the listing. On a positive note, the bottom level was clean and spacious. Not having an actual dining area would have been unhandy but we didn’t spend a lot of time at the unit so that was okay. The hosts were always available if there were any issues. As a whole I would give this VRBO a four star but would like to see the listing description changed according to what the guests are actually getting for their stay.

I’m really sorry that you misread how the property is listed on my website! There is only a few options to list the property and my place is clearly stated that it’s a fully contained, private spacious suite /apartment! Showing pics of the whole house doesn’t mean that u are renting the whole house, it’s meant to show the views of this stunning property! You also mentioned that there is no dining room table, had u asked us, we would have told u that we have a folded table if needed and besides that most people usually eat outside where there is various places to eat and enjoy the views! We really don’t feel that taking a star off is warranted because u didn’t read the website properly! Also to rent a whole house such as this, would cost at least double if not more for the accommodations! Thank you!!

Murison Smiths, June 29 to July 4

We have nothing but praise for this vacation rental, the location, and the hosts, who live upstairs. The downstairs unit is very spacious and well-equipped. Our family of two adults and two teens had plenty of space to spread out, with our own private rooms. The beds were very comfortable. Our hosts, Christine and Dan, were helpful and fun to meet. Shuswap lake is beautiful, clean, and swimmable in the summer. If you need to rent kayaks or paddleboards, Finz Resort, which is a couple of km away, has them at reasonable rates. Be sure to have a vehicle to transport them to a part of the lake you want to explore; otherwise, you're limited to going out of Blind Bay. Across from Finz, the Village Grocer has most of everything you need for self-catering at the property.

Ups and downs

Amazing views, clean. Smaller kitchen to accommodate 10 as advertised, the problem was A/c , since this is lower part of the house and A/c can only be controlled by owners upstairs, felt abit uncomfortable. Last 2 days AC didn't work at all. Also have never been charged so much extra for kids, be sure to check the price for all people.

We apologized to them, for the inconvenience of the air conditioning breaking down, this problem was beyond our control and we got it fixed asap! We were out of town for our daughter’s wedding when it happened! As for the kitchen, it is fully applianced and out of the 68 different groups we have hosted, nobody complained about the size of the kitchen, everything you need is there! Besides most people spend most of the time on the large deck, overlooking the gorgeous Shuswap lake! As for the extra charge a night, for the 4 extra people she brought, it is in plain sight on the website, we suggest she read the policies before booking! Also at the time of booking she should have been up front with the correct amount of people she was bringing, instead of withholding that important information at the time of booking! We also don’t consider 18 years olds small children and if they were small children, there would have been no charge for them! It’s too bad that we have to meet people in this business who blame the hosts for their own shortfalls and then they reach for things to complain about:(
