Wonderful stay at Cheryl's cottage! Everything we could have needed for an awesome beach vacation was provided. Loved taking the beach cruiser bikes out along the bay and ocean pathways. Got to take the paddleboard out on the bay. Had beach chairs to enjoy the ocean. Cottage was roomy, beds were very comfortable and loved the front & back patios to hang out in. My only regret was not being able to stay longer to enjoy more time at the cottage and being able to take the kayak out. Would stay there again!

Great place, great location

We had a great time in Cheryl and Steven’s place. Beds are very comfortable, lots of sitting room inside and out. Pet friendly and great location right next to The Mission. Cheryl and Steven were very responsive and made sure you had everything needed for the stay. They have everything you need for cooking, beach time, bike rides, you name it. We would definitely stay here again. Great hosts!

Cozy Beachside Getaway

Our family enjoyed our stay at this beautifully appointed cottage. The close proximity to the beach and our favorite ice cream place (Mr. Frostie) was a definite plus. We enjoyed the bbq, outdoor patio and fire pit. The kids loved riding bikes and all the beach amenities made our trip so convenient. The master bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. We would love to return in the future.

Wonderfully relaxing beach cottage

The cottage is cozy, recently and tastefully remodeled and is in very good condition. The location is also convenient for all things Mission Beach offers, and it was relatively quiet for being so close to Mission Boulevard. We were there for Thanksgiving week, and our hosts were very responsive. They also provided a lot of toys for us to use. Our only problem was that the convection oven didn't work and we had to figure out how to cook our turkey on the barbecue. Fortunately it came out OK and we have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

Perfect Location

This is a lovely property with very attentive hosts! The home is spotless and perfectly nestled right in between the bay and the ocean. It made traveling with senior dogs easy as the walk to the bay was simple. The street is extremely quiet even on a Saturday night. The master bedroom mattress was one of the best features for us as we were exhausted from work. We woke every day feeling rested and refreshed. No matter what we needed, Cheryl was quick to reply and assist us. Dog Beach is just a short ride away and having our own designated parking space made coming and going a breeze. I highly recommend this property. We'll be staying here again. Thank you!

Highly recommend - super cute and comfy cottage in a great location!

My family of 3 (2 adults, 1 early teen) stayed June 14 – June 19, 2018. We can’t say enough about Cheryl and Steven and this wonderful cottage. It was a great vacation and definitely one of the best VRBOs we’ve done! The owners had great communication before, during and after our visit. They were super responsive and very accommodating (allowing an early check-in and late departure). The cottage is decorated beautifully with a wonderful beach décor with modern touches. The owners went above and beyond with all of the extras they include like beach cruisers, beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, toiletries, laundry soap and condiments in the kitchen. It’s great to have spices available or ketchup for burgers one night. We added some olive oil, red cups etc. to the collection.  The cottage has great updates like a remodeled kitchen and bathroom. The gas stove and the convection oven/microwave are fabulous! They really went above and beyond with the remodel; no detail was missed. It truly was a home away from home and was so much better than staying at a hotel. The furniture and beds were comfortable. We enjoyed grilling on the front patio, hanging out and talking with the GREAT neighbor. The back patio with TV and fire pit was private and very relaxing. Loved the outdoor lighting on both patios and the lights automatically came on/shut off. Even the décor on the patios is delightful with solar candles, plants etc. So many little touches that just added to the overall experience. The location was perfect. Just steps to the bay on one side and down the block a little to the ocean on the other side. There are a lot of options for restaurants, bars and shops. All within walking distance. We highly recommend guacamole at Guava Beach, Pizza at Luis’s at the Beach (the 30” if you can manage was fun!) and tacos at LaPlaya Taco Shop (by the Catamaran). Ralph’s (grocery store) was a short bike ride. Take your own bags (or plastic bags are $.10/bag). We rode bikes with our backpacks. If you have a Fry’s or Kroger card, it works at Ralph’s for the extra savings. We are going to miss this cottage, warm bay water, beach cruisers and being within walking distance of so much! We would definitely stay here again! PS: Cheryl/Steven, I just realized we forgot to empty the freezer of the ice cream. Sorry about that!

Great time at Mission Beach!

The house was perfect for 4 of us. It was cozy and well supplied, both for cooking/entertainment and for the beach. Bikes, boogie boards, chairs, etc. made getting to the beach/bay easy and enjoyable. Highly recommend, and hope to return.

Great Mission Beach spot

Stayed here for three nights and loved it all. Steps away from the bay, the beach is across the street, AND Mission Cafe is so close you can smell the amazing food from the doorstep. Cute, clean, newly remodeled place perfect for the Mission Beach experience. I didn’t even see the outdoor shower until day 3! This house has everything you need, including beach cruiser bikes (with locks) perfect for hitting the boardwalk. The instructions were very helpful and the owner communicated with us very well before and during the stay. So glad we found this house.

Located between bay and ocean, can’t beat the location and how wonderful the cottage is….

Great location

Location is on point. Access to bayside and beachside give u a ton of options of for your daily adventure. Cottage was nice and cozy with great privacy in the back. Biggest buzz kill was waking up in the morning and walking out front for some coffe and sun.... and you are staring at a wrecked mini-van 5 feet from your face and the van never moves.... i google earthed it and it is still there. Makes hanging out front pointless. Would be a great front area to hang spend time and people watch. And it looks like someone painted over the red no parking that is in front of all the homes... except for these 2 spots. I asked a neighbor.... seemed like a sore subject. Other than that evrything else was good.

Wonderful Beach Cottage

My family of 5 had a wonderful time at this property. We stay many places, but the extra chairs, towels, boogie boards, bikes and a kayak was amazing and greatly appreciated. Super cute back porch that we loved eating dinner on and watching Olympics in the evening! Our favorite location, too. Beds were very comfortable, and kitchen was great. Easy to get food and walk or ride bikes places. Easy checking and very well maintained by the owner. Very nice neighbors too!

Great location! Near Pier 20. Excellent breakfast spot steps away.

Clean place with a comfortable king bed. Nice to have AC as an option. Very well stocked. We loved having the bikes, cornhole, and portable fire pit. They also have a kayak, boogie boards, beach towels, beach chairs, spices, and cooking spray. Nice outdoor space with seating, fireplace, and TV!

Fantastic cottage in a perfect location for a family with young kids

We are a family of 4 with a 7 and 5 year old. Cheryl's cottage is clean, comfortable, and truly felt like home away from home. The location is perfect, steps from the bay and the ocean, with great restaurants nearby. Cheryl provides everything one needs: fully stocked kitchen with sharp knives, comfortable beds and pillows, an outdoor shower with warm water for the kiddos after a long, sandy day at the beach, great beach chairs and umbrella, boogie boards and even a kayak, and a cart to haul it all around. Cheryl was very responsive and responded within minutes or even seconds within texting her. If you're a family with younger or older kids, STAY HERE! You will be happy you did!!

Amazing little cottage!

We have been staying in mission beach for over 20 years and this house was one of our absolute favorites. The location is perfect. Easy walk to either the bay or the beach. The furnishings, fixtures, and linens were all high quality and solid. There were so many great touches including spices, condiments, and other touches of home that are missing from the run of the mill houses. We especially loved the character that the owners added from their home countries. We will book again if possible. Thanks for the great vacation.

Great stay!

We stayed at the Cottage for a week at the end of September. The Cottage is super close to the bay and Pacific side beaches which is handy with a toddler. Well located to drive to other attractions in San Diego and lots of great restaurants within walking distance. Cottage was exactly as advertised/shown in pictures and very comfortable. Would stay here again.

The coziest cottage

The description and pictures are exactly as expected! Cheryl was so attentive and responsive to my questions even before I booked the cottage. The instructions, check-in, information email and booklets were all very helpful and detailed. I have two boys (11&13) and the location was perfect for them to explore the bay and ocean on their own yet so close to home. We couldn’t decide each day whether to do the bay or ocean side but since the home was so close to both, we were able to go back and forth. The back private patio was also an added bonus and we enjoyed sitting out back just as much. Everything in the home was also thought through, with enough pots, pans, dishes, sheets, towels, toiletries etc! You can’t go wrong with this choice!

Cottage has everything we needed and a perfect location!

This cottage was perfect for our week long beach get-away. Cheryl and Steven were very thorough in their communication both before and during the stay and everything was exactly as promised and more. They definitely thought of all the little details to make us feel at home. The cottage is small but had everything we needed including super comfy beds, great appliances, a fully stocked kitchen, large washer and dryer, beach equipment and bicycles, and cozy outdoor space. The location is perfect with the bay less than a minute away and the beach about a 2 minute walk. The parking spot was super convenient as well. Really one of the most comfortable rentals we have ever found in this area. And, the owners are very dog friendly which is sometimes hard to find and much appreciated.

Cozy beach house!

I love this beach house!! A prime location :) so comfortable and the patio off of the master bedroom is so quiet and fun for our kids to hang out watching movie and make s’mores! You won’t be disappointed staying here!!
