There's also a mooring for guests looking to bring their boat along for the ride.

Set between Platte Lake and Little Platte Lake, this home is also within 14 miles of Long Lake, Rush Lake, and Crystal Lake. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore offers hiking and lovely views just under 17 miles away. Golf courses abound in this area, the closest being Champion Hill Golf Course just over five miles away. When guests need a break from lakeside activities (or the parents want an evening alone), Cherry Bowl Drive-In Theatre provides fun viewing during the summer season three-and-a-half miles away.

Reported problem with ants but all Vacasa would say was that they had to talk to the property owner. Never heard back and we were there for 3 weeks!!!

Rustic heaven

The cabin was just what we were looking for, the rustic interior and the peace and quiet and being right on the lake was awesome! Everyone was totally pleased with the cabin and it does live up to its name Serenity. We enjoyed having our coffee outside every morning over looking the lake. The entire property was amazing. Had everything we needed, and plenty of storage. We hope to come back again!!!

Lovely cottage on Big Platte Lake allowed us to connect with our children and extended family also vacationing in the area. Caught fish, visited Frankfort and Traverse City wineries, hiked the dunes/beach on Pyramid Point and floated down the Platte River. Cottage was clean and nice soft towels. We made some wonderful memories in Serenity.

Great Home small issues

Beautiful home with great amenities. The beach front is amazing. The fire pit is fantastic. Close to the water I’ve stayed at 20 or more VRBO’s. But I’ve never stayed at one that had cameras placed around the property and one that was directly set to look inside the home and one inside the garage. It gave all of us a very uneasy, feeling to know that we were being watched 24/7. There’s also a carpenter ant issue, to which I called the management office on Monday and they sent ant traps on Thursday. This did not resolve the problem.

Huge issues with this property

Issues during our stay- first we had little to no hot water. It was hot for approximately five minutes then ice cold after that. We had five people staying In the cabin and no one had a hot shower the entire stay. I reached out to vacasa and did not hear anything back until the next afternoon. Apparently someone came in ran the water said it was hot and left. When I reached back out to say nothing had changed we still did not have hot water the response from the property manager through the maintenance man was the house is old and the water will run cold after so long. No attempt was made to fix the issue. Issue 2- when sleeping at night you could hear animals in the attic. Most likely squirrels running around. Every night we were awoken by animals. Again when brought to the attention of vacasa no assistance was given. Issue 3- the WiFi did not work either the wrong password was given or they just don’t have it and the listing was not accurate.

Super comfortable with an up-north cabin feel

We loved this house. The location was perfect, right on the water. We brought our paddleboards and had some amazing early-evening paddles across the lake followed by a home-cooked dinner using the quality Weber grill. There were four of us, but we would have been perfectly comfortable with two more. The fire pit with firewood were an unexpected bonus (I don't know if they always provide firewood or if it was just left by the previous guest) and the kitchen had everything we needed and then some. The only things missing were ice trays, so we bought some at the nearby dollar store and left them there; enjoy! :)

This is RELAX

Wonderful older home from the 50s, beautifully maintained, huge yard full of big pines. Peaceful, quiet, the lake is beautiful, and wildlife abounds. We plan to return.

Beautiful in every way

Incredible spot on a quiet, sandy lake and just a few minutes from great Lake Michigan beaches. The house was spacious, lovely, and comfortable, with every amenity. Beautiful view from the living room over the lake, incredible sunsets!

Very secluded property close to lots of activities!

First off I stayed with my family (myself, my wife and 3 kids ages 4, 6, and 10) Likes: -Very nice size cottage. Very clean and roomy for a family of 5 or 6 -Very private. Its off the main road with trees all around. Can not see any of the houses next door. about 150 of lake frontage. -Nicely appointed with sheets, towels, kitchen supplies and games and books for those raining days. -The sitting room sells the place with its 180 of windows overlooking the lake -The lake is very nice, some rocks on the bottom, would recommend swimming shoes if your doing alot of swimming . Very gradual drop off, great for small kids. At the end of the 200 feet dock its still only about 3-4 feet deep. -Very close to everything! Sleeping bear dunes, lake Michigan, Tube down the platte river, Shop, swim, eat at Frankfort, or Buela! Room for improvement: -Wireless internet, Says it doesn't have it but there was a router in the house...Not sure what the disconnect was between the management company and the owners... -The dock, this is the biggest draw back. Very old and needs replaced. found screws sticking up, uneven seems very unstable. I understand due to its length it wouldn't be cheep to replace but I was nervous with my kids on it. -A latter at the end so the kids could get in and out from the water to the dock. -A bigger sand area, only a small 5x5 foot area currently -The transition from the land to water could use some work. Maybe add some sand for a bigger beach and remove some of the reeds (if possible) to make a better transition for kids/people to enter exit the water -Ant traps could be installed inside, did see some carpenter ants about, nothing crazy or excess but just an FYI Again the negatives were minimal and I would stay here again. With some minor improvements this could easily go from a 4 star to a 5 star.
