A PERFECT place for a ROMANTIC escape in the heart of southwest Michigan. A modern cottage in a country setting. The bird feeder is kept full, the deer roam free, the creek runs year round, and the stars shine bright. Hygge atmosphere, like Winnie the Pooh says, ā€œYou donā€™t say it, you feel it.ā€ You may even hear the coyotes howl.

Stop by our family owned store in 3-Rivers, and grab all you need to fix yourself a gourmet meal in our fully equipped kitchen. From steaks, to fresh brats, to smoked meat you should be able to find a favorite. Use the gas grill or for the true campers enjoy the camp fire.

We are in the country so the farm lane can be muddy at times. Also there are bugs and mosquitoes in seasons.

This truly was a perfect place to get away from it all and relax. The place was spotless, full of all amenities you might need. The coffee/tea bar with delicious cinnamon rolls was a lovely treat. The hot tub overlooking the creek was beautiful and so relaxing. Loved all of the bird watching. Thank you Dawn for providing a special place to recharge ourselves. Cant wait to come back!

The host was incredibly kind, responsive, and genuinely helpful from start to finish. The space itself was absolutely adorable, cozy, and spotless, you can tell a lot of care went into every detail. Everything felt thoughtfully put together and welcoming the moment we arrived. The bed deserves its own shoutout, it was unbelievably soft and comfortable, truly one of the best nights of sleep Iā€™ve had while traveling. Overall, a wonderful stay and a place I would happily book again and recommend to anyone.

This is our 2nd time visiting the Creekside Cabin and Bungalow while visiting family nearby. Dawn has created an atmosphere of welcome and comfort.Set in a location of outdoor beauty with a running stream, here is a place we woke to birdsong and homemade cinnamon rolls. Beautifully decorated, it has everything needed for a relaxing stay. We will be back.

Restorative Joyful

We had a wonderful time during our stay at the Creekside Cabin. The land is beautiful, the property is well-maintained, and it has all you need. We saw over 30 bird species, had a close encounter with a Blue Heron near the hot tub, and enjoyed the little frogs playing in the creek. We also enjoyed a hike at Dr. TK Lawless Park, a short drive away. We hope to come back again soon.

This cozy little cottage was perfect! My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend anniversary getaway (I surprised him, he said it was perfect). SW Michigan in the winter is so beautiful. From the moment we stepped in, we were amazed. It was so clean, bright and warm, tastefully furnished, and full of everything we could have needed. We immediately started birdwatching, sitting on the couch looking out the sliding doors at the bird feeder. There was even a Birds of Michigan book in the cottage, so we were able to identify the ones we didn't know. The sunset across the field was breathtaking. The property is gorgeous, I was so happy the creek wasn't frozen over, we could hear a tiny waterfall under the bridge a short distance up stream. The hot tub was clean and very easy to use, looking at the stars while having a soak was lovely. The property was very easy to find, and Vandalia is close to many cute small towns, has nice lakes, and a dark sky preserve, about 30 minutes to Elkhart, IN. The cherry on top were the homemade cinnamon buns, they were the best I've ever had! Before we left we explored the trail, even with snow it was very enjoyable. Thank you so much to our wonderful hosts, we'd love to come back :)

Heavenly

This quaint cottage was the perfect place for my solo retreat. I spent hours enjoying the birds (at least 21 species!) and reading in the screened gazebo. The trail on the property was lovely and I took a beautiful hike at Lawless County Park--just 5 minutes from the cottage. The owners were so accommodating and friendly. This is one of the best places I have rented! I plan to return.

We are Virgil and Dawn Stutzman,

We are originally from the heart of a Amish/Mennonite community in Indiana.
Moved to this beautiful state of Michigan some 20 years ago.

We love entertaining, taking long walks, cooking, baking, traveling, and spending time with our family.

We have years of experience running a Bed and Breakfast, a dairy, and owning and operating our own bakery and restaurant.

Last and definitely not least we have raised eleven very amazing children, all of whom are married and have amazing spouses. They have blessed us with 45 grandchildren and 3great grandchildren.

Our lives are rich and we thank God for all the blessings we enjoy.

We would love to share our lives with you through this little slice of tranquility here at Creek Side Cottage.

If you really need a quiet place to get away from it all.
You will enjoy this cottage. You don't have to see anyone if you don't want to. Such a good place to connect with nature and each other.
It's beautiful, but depending on the season you may experience mosquitoes, bugs, other creeping critters. You also may hear farm noises as this is a working farm.
All in all we try to keep it peaceful and quiet.
