Hanalei Bay Resort overlooks Hanalei Bay from a tropical, lush 28 acres in Princeville. Beautiful ocean and Bali Hai views are everywhere on this property. Beach access is provided down a long, fair grade, paved path, and the resort staff offer convenient golf cart rides to the beach below. With four new artificial turf and two new hard courts as well as 6 new pickleball courts added to this world ranked tennis resort, everyone is sure to find their groove. Onsite restaurant, pizza oven, and coffee shop, concierge and fitness center, there is little need to ever leave!

Accommodating up to 6 people, this unit is the perfect place to spend your vacation in paradise! Two spacious lanais offer a beautiful space to start your day or to unwind at the end with incredible views of the majestic mountains and surrounding foliage. The full kitchen is super convenient to prepare inexpensive meals and the in-unit washer and dryer is an added bonus. Close to the parking lot, and pool, the location is hard to beat!

The location of the room was fantastic- close to restaurants, pool & parking lot. The view from the lanai was so peaceful and private. We enjoyed our coffee every morning there watching the birds. The rooms were fully stocked with everything we needed and the king mattress was extremely comfortable. Overall I am extremely pleased with everything & I highly recommend staying here. Also the resort is stunning- the pool, the views, landscaping & more. Happy Talk is a great place for a bite and drink and the live entertainment is great.

Peace and beauty!

Our stay was excellent!! The resort was in the most beautiful place and the beach was SUPER close with golf cart rides to it if needed. We couldn’t have asked for a better location. We got beach and jungle all in one! (And the pool was pretty awesome too.) We had conjoined rooms which were exactly what we needed. The kids got one room and we got the other, while still being able to spend time together as a family. We both had kitchens, which was also helpful. And, the washer/ dryer was a huge bonus. I will also add that we have a special needs kid, and these rooms were perfect for us. Not only was everything easily accessed, there was also a ton in the kitchens for cooking, meds, etc. would absolutely stay here again.

I wanted to love it....

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First time to Kauai and heard good things about this resort. We rented 2 spaces right next to each other and when we arrived, we were greeted by cockroaches!! There was a mildew smell and every cabinet you opened you can smell the chemical Raid used to kill these nasty pests. We encountered at least 3-4 cockroaches per day. We were afraid to leave anything out - even worried about leaving our suitcases open! The space was much smaller than expected and the resort, overall, is a bit older. We did enjoy the fact that the customer service was on point, everyone was extremely nice. We probably would return to Kauai but not to this resort.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love this resort for its amenities and location and this is the 3rd time renting this unit. Property manager is easy to work and communicate with. It is a great value if you are not needing ocean view and you are able to ambulate a short steep walk. I was disappointed that the Murphy bed frame remains loose in 1557 as it was on our visit last year. Furniture is also showing a bit of wear but outside of that the unit is comfortable with a nice lanai, air conditioning, a large bathroom and full kitchen are great as well. We’ll be back in the future as it is a reasonable price option for a North Shore visit!

Great location and unit

We love staying at the Hanalei Bay Resort. It’s very peaceful and beautiful. This unit is close to the pool and amenities which is very nice and convenient. This was our third time staying at the HBR and we would stay there again. We traveled with our 3 young daughters ages and this unit worked well with having kids! Thank you!

Unit needs repairs/upgrades

This could have been a great stay but there were multiple issues due to the unit needing proper maintenance, repair, and oversight. The A/C unit was leaking which we discovered in the middle of the night, waking up to feeling wet and finding the remote controls submerged in water on the bedside table. It took 3-4 days for that to be fixed and they never confirmed definitively that it was fixed. We knew the repairman was coming the day he came, but the property managed never followed up with us. We finally just started using the A/C again and the problem seems to had been fixed. Additionally the unit smells very musty, a sign of a chronic water leak issue beyond the A/C. We saw numerous roaches on the kitchen counter. The resort itself was great and the location is great, but wish we had chosen someone else’s unit. Didn’t seem like the owner cared much about it.

Exceeded expectations

We rented two attached condos, and they both were even nicer than advertised. The Murphy bed (which pulls down from the wall) was WAY more comfy than we were expecting!! Super impressed. And the King bed was the most comfortable bed I think I've ever had on vacay. The condo was fully stocked with all the little kitchen and bath amenities that save you from wasting precious vacation time making 10 trips to the nearby grocery store. The resort is top notch in the beauty department...perfectly maintained and gorgeous views at every turn. We absolutely loved everything about this property and would book these units again in a heartbeat!

Great location and view

Property has beautiful views of the mountains and is in a great location to explore the north shore. Only complaint is there is a bit of a musty smell in the main kitchen room.

Hanalei Bay resort stay

We rented both unit and were glad we did. Both units were studios so we were happy to have the extra space. The units are well stocked with items needed, especially kitchen items and beach chairs. We would stay again

Bait and switch

The prices advertised on Vbro nearly doubled when all said and done. Hidden fees, lack of maintenance. No help from staff outrageous cleaning fees, and at the last minute a daily parking and resort fee. Well I'm done Vbro. Fool me once as they say.

Pros: Beautiful garden and water feature. Free rides to the beach and back. 2 bathrooms are nice. Unit has most things already there like washing machines and utensils etc. The unit is 2 units conjoined thus is very spacious, could almost fit 8 people. Mountain view is great, you can see the waterfall at the top. Point of contact was available late at night when the electricity went out the whole North side of the island. Lots of welcome goodies. Cons: Smells like mold the moment you enter. One of the doors is funky; key doesn't work well. Check-in was confusing because this is a privately owned unit in Hanalei Bay resort. The front took a good 30 minutes to check us in because they had to difficulty confirming our reservation which they did not have on file for some reason. A bunch of extra fees like parking and resort amenity fees were charged at the end of the stay (around $30 a day).

Wonderful stay!

Loved everything about the condo! The mountain jungle view, privacy and location. We really enjoyed our stay at HBR. Wish we stayed longer and will definitely be back soon! 10 nights was not enough!

Great resort

We had a great time at this beautiful resort. The rooms were clean and well stocked. It also had beach chairs, boogie boards, a cooler and umbrella in each room. The condo was close to the pool and about a 15 minute walk down to the beach. The views were amazing! The check in process was the only thing that I have complaints about. It took about a half an hour to check in for some reason. She was very friendly though, it just took an unnecessarily long time after a very long day of travel, especially since we had already paid in advance. We would definitely return to this resort.

Really appreciated how well stocked the units were with necessities such as towels, dishwasher tabs, paper towels, etc. We did a lot of cooking and the cooking equipment was more than adequate. The Murphy Bed was great, we were able to have five adults sleep comfortably in the two units. Very responsive property management company.
